Tomorrow’s the day I get the new motherboard and CPU Cooler installed, and I feel there’s a 50/50 chance. Constantly I got told that Minecraft only uses ‘one thread'(which I assume one core). Plus, I’m told the CPU core speed is the most important when it comes to Minecraft (instead of the number of cores).
However, I’ve been thinking, and I dare the Modded Minecraft Discord to answer this. The old 4350 I had for many years, I never had an issue like this. So, with that said, why am I having one with a better CPU (if it’s a single-threading issue)?
And so I did dare them to ask it, and the response…was the response I’ve been waiting for many, MANY days of unexplained grief. One of them gave me a link to a chart, showing every CPU (since the Intel Celeron (and the AMD Athlon) era) that supports single-threading.
Both of my CPUs are listed in this. And the one on top, that is 210 better(in the list of benchmarks)? .. THE 9590!! 😀
HOT DAMN!! This PROVES it’s a thermal throttling(and underpowering) issue!! So this proves, the better motherboard (and the CPU Cooler) will work…and I’ll finally be able to play Minecraft (with a smooth FPS) again! YAY!! 😀
Now I cannot wait. I have so much catching up to do. So yes, to answer the question of will it work, it should.
