Benies-Blogs.com Server Migration that caught me by surprise

Since I currently cannot create or edit any blog posts, I’m forced to use a Windows 10 Sticky Note to type this and have it ready, when the website comes back up. I was going to continue work on a pretty ranty post about the Skyscales in the Games blog, when I was greeted by this;

(had to take this with my phone as ShareX couldn’t upload, as it’s connected to my website)

My mind’s like “what?? Why is my website down?!” The 404 error really scared me, as usually a 404 means ‘page not found’. Like.. they deleted my website and didn’t tell me, yet I KNOW I paid my hosting and domain parking bills for the year.. so it can’t be
that!
Then I thought “ok, maybe the server my website is on is down for maintenance. I tried to get ahold of Arvixe about this (literally had to Google their damn Live Chat as they have it buried in their website now).
This was also when I had to help my mother build a feral cat house for a cat that hangs around here, that cannot be litter trained according to their ‘owners’ (who barely feed
it, and when they do it’s straight from the can.. yeah, they’re too lazy to put it on a
plate)..
Anyway it did take an hour (claiming of long wait times. My guess of customers like me that are upset seeing their websites suddenly down without warning) until I was finally able to talk to someone. They looked into the issue and discovered it was a server migration.
My mind felt “…OHHHHH!! That email I got 1-2 weeks ago!! They mentioned this!!” Explained that and said I completely forgotten about it. They say they don’t know how long until the website will be back up, but it will be ‘soon'(TM).
So I’m doing this while waiting to post it in the General Blog once it comes back up. Currently at the time of this writing (in this Sticky Note), the Games Blog is back up and running at full capacity, but the General Blog is still down. If I was to guess, they’re probably moving the massive WordPress database over.., which will take time (with the amount of posts I’ve made in it). It keeps on showing ‘Page not found’ in the title, while showing an infinitely spinning symbol in the middle of the page.
It’s also possible they’re moving the General Blog over first, then they’ll move the Games Blog over. As I notice, the General Blog is using an https, while the Games Blog is still using http.
..Are they increasing my website’s security, too? I really hope they are, as my screenshot database that ShareX uses could use it (to keep prying eyes out.. you know who you
are, my friends in the Mystery Skulls server).

EDIT: It’s now the 16th, and there’s been absolutely zero work being done on the migration. General Blog is still down. Games Blog is still up. Can’t
use ShareX either (which is SUPER annoying). Might have to contact Arvixe again and see if they’re still working on it.

EDIT2: General Blog is.. ‘back’ and I’m posting normally again. I dunno what the hell happened but apparently the whole ‘https’ thing was a mistake, and they said to
try ‘http’ instead, and I went right in. So, no additional security.
However, ShareX still can’t upload. They can’t help me with it, so I have to find a way to contact them. But I already know why– FTP. ShareX connects to it to upload. With the move to the new data center, they didn’t give me the updated info I needed to log into it. So yeah, real smart Arvixe. I can’t even get into my cPanel. It’s all based around FTP.
And after two more hours of waiting in line in Live Chat, I finally got everything. The only thing that I had to change was the host.

But yeah, we’re back up! 😀
