Heatwave and dodging a possible Derecho

Ohh yeah, it’s dangerously hotš„µ out there. And by Tuesday/Wednesday it’s going to be even hotter. The first heat wave of the season, and likely won’t be the last. Summer isn’t even here yet, though. So this is a ‘early taste’ of it (even though it’s late Spring). To me this is abnormal to have a heat wave before Summer gets here.

And… get this. It could be coupled by a Derecho event happening tonight that’s going to clip north of me. What is a Derecho? Think of bowing line of storms that can last for a very long time, and cross several states. What’s bad is these storms have wind gusts 75-100+MPH. They are known to cause widespread power outages (that can last for
days), and cause a lot of damage. The infamous Iowa Derecho that happened last year should give an idea of their devastating power that is remembered (and respected) for decades.
Much like the derecho that went through here after I got back from Washington D.C in 2004. I will never forget that frightening (but wild) night.
Moving on to what happened yesterday now.

Malice is alone

Last night, as I was finishing off the last post I mentioned how I saw Malice alone in a world. I honestly couldn’t believe it. Not one of his friends joined him. I felt sorry for him and wanted to make things right by joining him. He was in Sovern’s Chill home… where the shitstorm happened over a month ago that had one time made me lose Jero as a friend.
Anyway, he was in the secret area, infront of the fire. He was high, as usual. I wanted to ask him if he’s spoken to Jelly, but I wanted to be respectful.
Instead I messaged Jelly to see how he’s doing. According to him, he’s tried talking
to Malice about this but he won’t respond. He also doesn’t want to be annoying and has stopped asking, but feels understandably burnt by this.
Still tried to resist asking if he spoke to Jelly.. but I had another issue on the horizon.

Stubborn Jero

I saw Jero come on. Quietly said “oh shit oh shit oh shit” to not have Malice hear me. For once I prayed he would join a public instance. That’s when I checked VRCX and.. he’s joining HERE. Oshi–!! …What do I DO?! Looked at Malice, knowing I had to say something. So I said “um.. I need to go to spawn, something’s come up and yeah I need to go to spawn”. It was the only thing I could think of. Thankfully he didn’t know what I was really talking about.
At spawn I saw Jero preparing to leave. Came up on him and he saw me. I was a bit nervous and didn’t know how to tell him that Malice was here, so I said “by the
way, um… someone you have blocked is here”. And he was OK with that, which really made me question “so if you’re OK with that, why did you say before how you almost joined? If you’re OK, why did you tell me you ‘nearly made a mistake’ joining?” …I can’t remember his answer, but I really don’t care. He’s going to be stubborn and noone’s going to change his mind.
Anyway, I thought “alright, so if you’re OK. Follow me”. And I lead him to the secret area. Entered, and Malice asked me “is your friend coming?” I said “he’s already here”. That’s when he found out who the friend is asked me “what is their name?” I was confused but also really nervous, trying to explain to him through DMs. He didn’t understand why he didn’t see Jero. I was forced to pull him aside and tell him that Jero “has blocked you and won’t unblock you over what happened”.
He was really disappointed and feels the same way I do that this is stupid, but I
said “there’s nothing I can do. You’ll have to deal with it”. After that I quickly ran back
to Jero and gave him a hug, hoping he wouldn’t leave. And phew.. he stayed for awhile longer. We were watching this very weird video of a guy in the middle of the night, walking through their local park. But anyway, Jero a bit later said he “was going to see a
friend”. I said “you are welcome to come back, if you want”. And he left.. never to come back.
Malice feels this is all on Jero for not wanting to move on. He was willing to. I agree completely. This is stupid… but there’s nothing I can do.

The rest of the night, I did ‘find out’ about Jelly. Malice never saw Jelly’s messages about breaking up the right way, still hurt over having no faith in him. That’s understandable. Had to leave it like this as I didn’t want him to know I told Jelly about what happened.
