Finally ‘done’ with the animation / Blender ‘makes up for his mistakes’

Finally ‘done’ with the animation
==============================================================
4pm. It took me, four hours until I finally got the freakin’ wing folding pose set. I tried installing and using UMotion, praying it would help to copy and readjust an already
set pose for the other wing (it didn’t), I ended up doing it all over again. Tried to do it
with UMotion’s mirroring option, but it kept on bitching about how the transform names are “not unique”. The FUCK?!
Was forced to do it manually.. again. However this time I did it the right way. Yes, it takes a lot more effort, but I have a much higher chance of success with mirroring the Transforms between both wings. Aka, set a bone, then immediately mirror the transforms for the other wing (and repeat this process). I also had four less bones I needed to pose from the last time I wrote things down, which made things a bit easier. Only had five bones (per wing) to pose instead of nine.
And, FINALLY, the wing fold was set to my liking. Now to start the toggle animation. I found a few videos explaining how to start this (with the second being a more through explanation which I enjoyed a lot). Let’s just say there are a LOT more steps compared
to 2.0 (where it’s fucking ridiculous).
But soon I had the wing spread animation set. Now to.. wait, why does the video say I have to have two versions of the wing? This isn’t a prop I want to toggle. …Oh no. I looked for the wrong video! FUCK!!

Blender ‘makes up for his mistakes’
==============================================================
I explained the issue to Blender the best I could, but he wasn’t fully understanding the situation (even when he asked for me to call him and I shared my screen). But finally he said “Ohh no, that video isn’t going to help you with this! I should’ve been there for you!” Though he never said it, I saw this as him making up for his mistakes.
He tried to teach me how to do it, and I did my best to learn. But the more we did it, the more issues happened. We were both getting fed up with its inability to work, then I had the thought of using the same app built into Windows that person used to help me with Voicemeeter.
Told Blender the program, that he will take control of my computer. He wasn’t too sure about using it, but I felt this was the only way to get it fixed.

So what was the issue? It wasn’t how I renamed the wings and ‘broke’ the animation (that was a quick fix), but of how VRChat understood the animation was broken. This
new blasted ‘Expressions’ menu and having to set Parameters. Even though ‘Wings’ was set as ‘Bool’, it was still set internally as ‘Float’ (which was breaking the scripting).

Wow, VRChat dev team. WOW. All I wanted to do was a simple toggle animation, just like I did in 2.0. Sure, I can do it, but I expected it to be similar to adding it as I did IN 2.0.
Aka add the animation to a finger pose in the Animation Override Controller. Upload. Job done.
Now you can’t do that anymore!! 😣 You have to add it to the Expressions
menu, AND be forced to learn basic coding language (like ‘Int’, ‘Bool’, and ‘Float’)! But from what I do understand, ‘Bool’ is for a toggle animation, and ‘Float’ is for putting an animation on a sliding wheel. Still don’t know what ‘Int’ does.
And that’s not even the ‘fun’ part. That’s in the Animator tab– the beating heart of 3.0. And it’s just.. oh my god WHY!? How do people LEARN this shit?! And why is it forced upon you?!
I only pray I can eventually see 3.0 like 2.0, then look back at this post and see just how much of a whiny spoiled, stubborn brat I was back then, and be proud I’ve finally learned how to do this stuff. But until that day comes… 2.0 all the fucking way (until it’s officially dead)!! HOORAH!! ✊

Anyway, with the wings finally done the way I wanted them, Blender wanted to add a color change hue to the pokadots. I let him. As he was setting them up, a rather hilarious idea came to me from a Lolathon video of his pants turning into a rave after wearing a condom that glows depending on what disease you have. Combine the pokadots with that music = comedy gold.
While he didn’t add the music, he did the thing. Strangely though, his original idea wasn’t working. He also made a toggable sub-version of the pokadot rave that will respond to worlds with AudioLink in them. So any beat (if AudioLink is in the world) is picked up by the pokadots (just gotta have both of them enabled). Now that’s very cool.
And when he was checking if the beans were also doing it, he said how Jero would love these paws. Suddenly I hear “wow, showing your gay side” coming from a few friends (as a joke). Ohh shit, I forgot about that. People like Kat will love to tell me how gay I am with these color changing pokadots. ..Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea.
Finally, he added a blush that shows when I do a fist in my left and right hand. All of this was done by 4am, which was perfect for him (as it was time for him to go to bed).
