There’s going to be a lot of ranting in this one. I can’t help it, but I’m pissed at.. whoever I could be pissed at until they do something that makes this headset not feel so heavy on my face.
I have no good-fitting VR headset and I must scream.
So the pad came earlier today, with instructions on how to get it on. Did my best and got it on. Then I put the headset on my face.. and immediately felt discomfort on the middle of my forehead. I also saw a lot of light coming in from the nose area. Horray. More wasted money.
This is worse than the stock foam pad. With that pad, the discomfort didn’t really hit for a few hours. Here.. less than a minute. It just feels my face wasn’t designed for VR. It still feels like I’m wearing a brick on my face, that can easily slide off. Tighten it more, even more discomfort (but hey, at least it’s not going to slide off).
Only thing I can think of is cut off the area that is bugging me, yet the area that’s bugging me is the only thing keeping the headset on my face! Cut it off, the rest of my face is going to start hurting (because of the lack of support of the middle of my forehead). Hell, I feel as if I wore this headset for all night.. when it’s only been a few minutes. This SUCKS!!

Almost makes me want to get an Oculus (just.. anything other than this), but I want a guarantee it’ll fit better (and I can’t think of how it can guarantee).
EDIT: Okay, so I made the foam pad work in a way it’s not as uncomfortable, and managed to play VRChat. There’s still lots of light bleed, but it really isn’t as bad as I thought (when looking straight into the visors). Plus it helps my face to ‘breath’ and stay cool; like a mini air conditioner.
I basically managed to lift the top of the pad to be closer to the head band of the halo, so the foam pad wouldn’t be directly pressing against the middle of my forehead (and my sinus cavity, which causes even more discomfort).
Though I need to be careful in the future when wearing the headset, as the glue holding the velcro is starting to lose its strength in multiple places.
