Where Google really fucked up with YouTube

It’s been a pretty long time since I posted in here, as my Games blog got all the attention. But what I have to say, isn’t about Games. It’s about something that will affect, a lot of people that use YouTube to post their Video Blogs or whatever they do. This also affects me.
If you didn’t think that Google is trying to take over the Earth (one Google+ account at a time), you will soon.

Recently, the Google Overlords thought it was a “good idea” to do two really, really bad decisions on Youtube in the Users part. The first one is something they’ve been trying to ram down my and everyone’s throats; Google+. Now, you are required to use this service, just to post comments or even to vote.
Some, actually don’t mind this as it will weed out racist comments. I’ll get to this later on.
The other thing, is a lot worse. You may ask me, what could be worse than having to use another service, just to post comments on Youtube? How about, links that could give you viruses.. Yes, this is a lot worse. Google has enabled the use of active links in the comments section. So if you’re not careful, your computer could be at risk.

A lot of video uploaders are getting sick and worried about the second thing… to the point that most of them have blocked the ability to post comments altogether of their videos. This prevents the posting of links. They don’t want to do this, but safety for your computer comes first.

On top of that, with these changes, Google is able to take out 45% of Ad Revenue away from people that make a living doing videos; such as NerdCubed. Yes. Some people actually live off Ad Revenue. It has become their job, to produce videos. The only income they get, is from this. And very few have a job they love to do (except Stanley in the Broom Closet).
But that’s 45% less than they would normally get. They are going to hurt, because of this. This figure, is more than what Apple and Steam take out, of the money when you buy a product from their site. And with Steam, they also have a 30% tax for everytime your game sells on Greenlight.

The point of YouTube, was for people to express their feelings without fear to everyday life, make us laugh, cry, and even teach us how to do stuff.
Me? All I do is just watch videos… but even that is in question. Some think that in the near future, you will have to use a Google+ account, just to use YouTube. What’s next? Have to use Google+ just to fucking use their search engine?!

Now let’s go back to this whole bullshit on comments. Why should I, someone that enjoys watching videos and praises the makers of the video if I like it, to be forced to use another site, to post a comment? That is beyond idiotic. And I can’t even thumb up people or set a comment to Spam, without having Google+.

The voice inside my head is saying to just do it and the fact it’s free to use. But they also remove your avatar for no reason. No option to keep it. And I don’t even fucking NEED Google+ as I have no friends or family that use it!

There are a few petitions circulating around to stop this madness, and restore our right to do what we want to do on YouTube (within reason, of course). I don’t know where the links are, sadly. And to be honest, petitions never work anyway.
Ever since the petition I signed years ago to get The Angry Beavers back on Nickelodeon failed, I stopped believing in them.
And with Google one of the biggest companies out there, the Google Overlords will not listen and throw it in the trash, then laugh. You may think of me being pessimistic, but I feel myself as a realist with this.

This is why I, and a lot of people feel the death of YouTube is coming… and soon. No longer will YouTube be a haven for freedom of expression. It will be a paid service, were you will probably have to pay real money to watch a video. Yes, I’m seeing subscription services after this.

The death of YouTube is coming. Bow down to the Google Overlords…
