The latest on the road project

It’s been a week since I stared construction on the road to Whitechapel. From it’s start to now, I don’t know how many people have helped me with this project. And I’m no where near done yet.
I’ve been on pretty much all day, working on this as long as I can. Sometimes getting bored, sometimes feeling energetic to want to keep going, and even… sometimes regretting that I signed up for this(all because I have nothing else to do with my life).
And also, constantly having to tell people “Yes, I won the bid” and “it’s going to Whitechapel”, and having to say for people who ask ‘You going to do more exits?”, I say “That’s up to frozen”.

But there was a section where I was ready to just give up. It was near the halfway point of the build. Going by the plan, frozen wanted a ridiculously-wide left curve. I thought, there’s no fucking way I could do this!
Enter ‘RedBear47’, a really nice guy, and has been my savior for most of this project. He’s been hanging out on the server, a bit North of my island, minding his own business and hardly saying anything. But lately, I believe I loosened him up to be more talkative on the server (and even have his oldest son come on the server).

He’s been helping me with difficult angles, yet I’m being given the credit. Of course, that’s not fair on Red as he’s done all the heavy planning. This is the issue with me and having help from others. They think I did it, when I have to give credit to the people that actually did it. It also feels a bit depressing. I should be able to build anything I put my mind to, yet I keep relying on others… :/

This came really true today, when the road entered a Taiga Hills biome. It was night, and I’m flying through this area of how to plan the road to snake through. I had the Taiga Line with a visible station close by. I decide to sleep on it, thinking all I need to do is just clear out trees, while also keeping the road hidden from the station.
The next day, I still didn’t know how to work with it. Had to get help, and we went with just taking the road West.
But that move costed an even harsher area I had to work with (which I’m still working on).

RL’s railroad to the left of me, and hills all fucking over the place. There were only a few places I could squeeze the road through. Yet both, I can only get one road through. Thankfully, RedBear popped up later to help me plan out this route.
This had the road going in a diagonal hard right to avoid RL’s railroad, and a hill directly infront of the road. Then diagonal and splitting apart to pass two large hills, to finally continue heading West toward hopefully less inhospitable terrain.

Haven’t hit the 3/4 point yet, and I’m regretting wanting to do this. The next time this happens, I’ll wait until there’s a much, much easier route.

Blizzard: Patch 6.2 and beyond WILL bring core content, they say

Let this mark my “Goodbye post” before my subscriptions end.

Yet, too bad they had a chance to move the story in Patch 6.1. But instead they blew it with Twitter integration. They had several months to keep their promises. Instead they give us more crap. They truly have lost touch with their playerbase.
My final WoW post will be when my subscriptions end, March 17th (exactly one month from now on the same date).
Sorry about this post being so short, but, as you know, I’m tired of this. So… no more. No more lies. No more hype. No more accepting bullshit. No more paying for a game that its company doesn’t give a fuck about their subscribers anymore. No more BlizzCon. No more WoW.
I. am. DONE, with Blizzard. They’ve lost me as a subscriber. And they’ve also lost me as a supporter. I will never go back. Not even if they have a dragon race in a future expansion. I am so… TIRED of them! I can’t fucking believe ANYTHING they say anymore!! It feels like more lies! More… “I fucking TRUSTED you” being taken away! THAT is how bad it’s gotten…

But am I done with MMOs completely? No. I will be moving onto Guild Wars 2, once my subscriptions end. And with that game, there is no monthly fees. And the content is much, much more fluid and less grindy (from what I’ve been told).

As painful as this also feels, saying goodbye to some good memories, and a Guild who’s members I’ll never ever see for the rest of my life, I feel I’m making a very wise decision. A tough, but firm decision.

Fuck you, Blizzard. May you rot in gamer hell… along with EA and Ubisoft.
-Benie

P.S. I went a step further and tried to ask for a refund to the two copies of WoD I bought. I had a feeling it wasn’t possible, and I was unfortunately right. Not only was it too late to do so, but the fact I have active Level 100’s.
I told the chat guy “I had a feeling. Was hoping to use the money for something that isn’t crap. Sorry for wasting your time.” and ended the chat before the guy could respond with “I’m sorry I couldn’t help you!”

PS+ Free Trial ended, free games no work anymore :P

My PS Plus Free Trial ended yesterday, but I’ve been busy with the road project on the MRT to really notice. Now I have, and the thought of “greedy bastards” comes to mind of what I saw.
All the free games I got when I had the service? I cannot play them anymore. All because I don’t have the service. Yeah. That thought of “greedy bastards” definitely plays out here. And here I hear that Sony is hurting financially. Gee.. I wonder why? When they ask $50 a year, which is $20 less than what is paid to keep this website going. And they wonder why they’re strapped for cash.

On top of this, I had to call on Friday to make sure the free trial would expire and I won’t be charged. And it’s a good thing I did, because I was going to be… even though I had set it not to renew the service.
I was literally told by the guy: “hope you enjoy the rest of your free trial! By the way, you’re going to be billed $9.99 when it expires. Does that sound good?” And I’m all “WHAT?! NO!!” Though the guy was nice enough to understand I didn’t want to be billed and made sure I wasn’t. Then on top of that, wanted me to fill in one of their “how well did I help you?” surveys. I closed it out. Fuck that. I rarely fill in those things. Despise surveys.

I got enough high priced bills as it is. And $50 a year for how little I’ll play them, just doesn’t seem worth it. Their cheapest offer is $10 a month(that $9.99 I mentioned before). That’s still too much.
Steam, there is no monthly fee. And they offer free games. There is no ‘Steam Plus’ service (though I shouldn’t be giving them ideas :P).

Never needed RLcrafter’s perms afterall… (road project restarted)

I want to kick RLcrafter in the ass, so hard, he’ll fly to Pluto. I’ve been waiting two (2) days for that bastard!
I logged in today after playing my new game. Robin informs me (after I asked him) if RL showed up. He has, and said that all I needed was to talk to him.
He also said that RL apologizes for raising hell over something so stupid.

Checking my ingame mail, RL said to check my PO box. I did, and found a book from him of what he wanted. Going over it, made hardly any sense. Something about he wanted the roads raised even higher, but never specified what block height he wanted.

I went back to my game, after Robin told me that he would probably come on around 1am my time. So I waited. 1am came. No RLcrafters. Kept playing my game while checking.
Around 2:17am, I happen to look and saw him online, and quickly logged in to say hi. He was… AFK. And has been for hours.

Around 4:47am, he logs off. I’m pissed off. Cortesi logs in and asks if I need help with the road. I tell him it’s delayed because of this guy. We have a chat about it, and suddenly he’s all “you never needed permission from him. He doesn’t own the land”. He reminded me that you can only own a town. You can own a rail line, and you would have to ask for perms to modify it…. but not for what I was doing.

I… I WASTED TWO DAYS.. only to be told I DIDN’T HAVE TO?! That I could had worked on it anyway?! I don’t know if to feel happy or want to bust some heads. Probably a bit of both. Why didn’t Robin tell me this, instead of Cortesi?
So, Cortesi’s been helping me with the road. He’s a pretty fast builder for a Raccoon.

Guild Wars 2 – The next “WoW Killer”?

While waiting for RLcrafters last night, I was in Mumble with mfish. He’s telling me how he’s addicted to Guild Wars 2. I get curious what he’s talking about.
(Rewrite, as this is horribly fragmented)

I’ve learned the following from mfish, and a video on the Guild Wars 2 website. Forgive my constant ‘somewhat similar’ sayings);
– Guild Wars 2 is “like WoW, but less grindy”.
– There’s no mounts. Instead, there’s special waypoints. Similar to FPs in WoW(without the flying part). mfish also added that the price increases with your level, which is somewhat similar to WoW(who’s price is based on expansion).
– There’s no such thing as ‘soloing old content’. Content scales with you, giving you a challenge.
– The quest system is designed for exploration. There’s no ‘breadcrumb quests’ of getting to a specific quest giver.
– The level cap is Level 80, and will remain there forever. He answered why, but I forgot.
– It is possible to solo quests. You don’t have to be grouped. If you can solo to the max level, I need to ask mfish.
– Been told the community is easier to deal with than WoW. There’s a lot more nice people than trolls.
– There’s no faction system, despite the name of the game.
– The name “Guild Wars” came from the original game. Now there’s no such thing.
– When creating a character, from what I’ve seen, you can control the origin of your character. If they were born in a slum, or in a prosperous castle. It’s somewhat similar to Dragon Age: Origins.
– PvP is there, and like WoW, it only happens in specific areas of the game world.
– There’s also a somewhat similar thing of World PvP. Except it’s several large scale teams battling it out. Mfish said it’s “World vs World vs World.”
– The world feels alive. There’s also Random Events that can change certain areas of the world, and it even depends on your actions as a player.
– There’s no Orcs, no Tauren, and no Undead. There’s also no time traveling BS.
– There are dailies, but unlike WoW, they aren’t used to get gear. There apparently are no reputations for some reason.
– I have heard that getting gear is easier, and is somewhat similar to heirlooms in WoW(as in, increase in level as you do).
– Player Housing? mfish mentioned about “player instances” and how they can’t be customized. He also mentioned of a ‘Guild Hall’ coming in an expansion.
– The game is F2P. All you have to do is pay for the game. No subscription fees. No $14.95 a month. None of that shit.
– I ask mfish about what’s endgame content like, once you hit 80. He said there’s nothing really to do until an upcoming expansion. So, it feels similar to WoD at the moment (with it lacking in solid core content). That’s not good.

And that’s basically all I know. I believe I’m going to give this game a chance, when my WoW subscriptions end on March 17th. He says it costs $40 for the game itself. Just glad there’s no monthly fees.

New controller, battery, and game (Everything is Awesome!)

I went to Walmart today and I bought what is known as a ‘Power Pak’ for my brand new PS4 controller that came in the mail today. I also got The Lego Movie game for my PS4.

The new controller and the battery pack works perfectly! No more having to reset my controller (as long as I take care of it this time)….., which I will. And the battery pack, fits right into the controller. No muss no fuss. It simply adds more of a charge between having to re-attach it to the USB charger.
Personally, I’m OK with leaving it plugged up. But maybe it hurts the battery if you do that. Dunno.

Anyway, been playing The Lego Movie. One unfortunate thing is, I have to have the disc in the system to play the game. The good thing is, I can leave the disc in and play another game that I have downloaded. Thank goodness for the PlayStation Network.
About the game, I can see now why Dan didn’t like it too much when he did his review of the PC port.
There’s two parts I don’t get;
1. Who is this construction girl that Emmet is with, during the deconstruction part? She was never in the movie. Plus, she’s suddenly with Wildstyle to rescue Emmet from the Police Station.
2. After the high speed scene of the movie, where Wildstyle and Emmet were on the freeway. They arrive back in the city as if nothing happened. This is basically where I am in the game currently. In the movie, Wildstyle and Emmet go to the Wild West after going through that secret portal, where Wildstyle finds out that Emmet isn’t a Master Builder, but a fraud.

These are my only real dislikes. Was hoping it would be more true to the movie. Instead it keeps taking detours.

Back in my element, with an issue!

My MRT element, that is. Frozen never responded to my email. Been waiting all day, watching the Dynmap in hopes he’ll show up. Finally, he does later on in the day. Hopped on, as he was preparing to get off. Though he knew the reason I came on, and responded to my email through PMs.
After he left, I was once again unsure if I should do it. Because he said to “make a 90 degree turn for the time being” for the T-intersections. And the size, to be based similar to the I-0/I-301 interchange.

Suppoe popped up later on. I asked him if he wouldn’t mind helping me. The way he talked, I assume he’s heard the GSM and knows what I’m talking about. He also said he would be able to help soon.
Knowing his expertize on angles, I was pretty sure I could pull it off. So I made the official request form. Just as I thought, I was the only one that entered. I found out later, that most people didn’t even bother entering, because they wanted me to do it. As cool as that is, it also feels unfair.
Anyway, frozen said he would come back an hour, and he did. And I got the job. Yay.

I went right to work, extending the road to get it ready. Suppoe showed up sometime later, then acted like he never listened to the GSM. But I went with it, having him do some terraforming. Eventually we agreed to have this section to be elevated. Then he had to leave for the night.

My first hurdles, where getting this thing past the hill in the way while heading to the first turn towards the North. Plus I had this ‘abandoned railroad’ I had to bridge over. More about this troubling thing later.
I found two good areas to spread out the road to true InterMap status. But linking it to the main road proved to be a chore. My math was way off at trying to find the magic number of how many ‘kicks’ I needed of the road to get it to where I needed.
I did get help from a guy in a tiger skin, who told me to find the number of kicks, is to take the mid point and divide that by the length of said mid point, and the center should be exactly where the center of the mid point is.

Having that down, I finally got one of the two sections of road going where I wanted. Had other help with general construction.

Early next morning (this morning), I and another were attempting to finish off the really wide section of road. Suddenly I start getting bothered by a random guy who wants answers of why I’m going over his precious line. It’s the owner of the railroad line that the road goes over.
So, I’m being treated as the bad guy here for not talking to this guy before building the road. I tried to tell him, that this isn’t my doing; to talk to frozen as this is HIS project, not I.
Now, I’m not blaming frozen for not making sure all perm requests were known. Maybe the staff too felt the railroad was abandoned, or they forgot to mention this during the GSM.

Either way, I get yelled at when it’s not my fault. I’m just doing a job here. I hope this mess clears itself. But until it does, I’m going to delay the project. I will have to talk to frozen (and the rest of the staff) about this and get it straightened out before I continue.
I don’t want to be accused of breaking a rule, when I got perms from a Mod.

That’s not the only reason I’m delaying. I had a really bad sinus headache that came out of the blue, and making it hard to focus on building. Plus I was feeling nauseous. So it was a great combination of a sinus headache and mild motion sickness that forced me to quit for my head to stop pounding.
Thank goodness for Aspirin, though. Head feels better now, and so does my stomach. A good night’s rest will help. 🙂

.
EDIT: Plot twist. So the good night’s rest helped. Checked my email and Thomas has replied. What he’s saying, it’s my responsibility…?! Um, no? This is not what I signed up for. I was told what perms I had to ask and nothing more. Nothing about RLcrafters. Now it looks like I have to answer for it, because I didn’t wait for RL to come on…
*faceknife*

Wish I didn’t start this. Though you’re probably saying “Look, just ask him for permission as if it was your road! Yes, frozen’s the one that planned it, but you’re still responsible as you’re the builder.”
I’m only responsible if I don’t do my job right. It’s still up to the employer (aka _frozen) to make sure everything is good with the project! I’m the one building. He’s the one planning. I’m doing what he wants me to do. All the sudden, that’s thrown for a loop by the Admins, pinning the blame on ME!

So later on, as I was waiting for RL to hopefully work with him. This guy named ‘ValachSarkhor’ worked with me. Believe a tunnel under the railroad instead of over it and working around the hill infront of it in an awkward way, and it will force the road to go where I want it for the next section.
Still have to wait for RL, though. Robin came on a bit later, saying he wanted to talk to RL as well. I sort of assumed it was about my email, and the way he acted, he was a bit annoyed at RL for raising hell over something so pointless. This is good. 🙂 I want to see this.

.
EDIT2: It’s 1:09am. Everyone’s left the server, except for me. I’m losing my patience. No RLcrafters. Wish I never fucking started this. Wish frozen had this fucking thing sorted out before the proposal was made. No sign of him either.
I have a feeling, something happened with RL. He was supposed to be on “in 9 hours from now”. I feel he’s not going to show up. But I will wait all morning for him.

EDIT3: *sigh* 3:43am. I’ve given up my ‘obsession’ waiting for this fucking asshole to get on. What I was told, waiting for him was pointless at this time. So I tried just throwing a book to explain the situation, and how we can work this out.
I realize I need to occupy my brain by doing something else instead of wanting to throw vulgar words at this fuck. He should had stayed off, then this wouldn’t be a problem and I would had gotten the second section of the road half done by now. I lost a day of construction because of him!
This is why I hate depending on others. Because at times, you’re forced to.

Though I do feel my desire for this guy to come on, is going to cost me when the next road proposal comes up in March (if there is one). As in, not picked due to my temper.

Beginning to see why some people dislike GTA V

Most of the game, I still do like very much, and feel it’s worth the $60. But there’s still these “WTF?!” moments that annoy me.
One of them is a question I’ve ‘patiently’ waited for three days to answer on the GTA Forum, about if it’s possible to have both Trevor and Franklin to work together, to get a few of the sub parts that are offshore and require either a sub or scuba equipment. I wanted to start this side mission of getting these 50 spaceship parts, scattered around the game world.

Finally got a response, to buy this one place that already has a sub, and a Dinghy. I did, as Franklin. Yet I didn’t see said Dinghy. I figured out a bit later I needed to play as Micheal, to get this side mission to get access to the Dinghy.
Why I need the Dinghy, is you equip scuba gear. Very useful for my needs.
So after I got that mission done as Micheal, and got a measly $10 for my trouble (had the option to plow the bitch into the ground, but decided not to).

So, as Franklin, I went on the Dinghy to reach the first underwater spaceship part, going by a map I’ve been going over. Dived down, and found no part. So I asked YouTube and found a video showing where all 50 are. The first one was on the coast.
The problem was, after I was frantically searching for the part and surfaced, the Dinghy was nowhere to be seen. So I had to frantically search for that too. Finally found it by it having its lights on.

Back in the boat, I head to where the first marker is. I pass within a second through what is assumed to be a no access area. How did I know this? I think the four star Wanted level said this…
I had two fucking helicopters raining down hell on my boat, and police boats following me (who are also shooting at me) and I was going as fast as I can to attempt to evade them. All I did was enter it FOR ONE SECOND, and I’m seen as a terrorist!! I decided to bail out and swim down as deep as I could, to lose them. That worked. When I surfaced… the dinghy was missing again. No lights, and the ocean’s waves were not helping me clearly see where it went.
So I swim in the direction I think the boat went, and a red blip shows up on my radar… it’s a fucking shark! I tried to swim away.. and it killed me.

That’s when I was all “… fuck it” and closed the game out. Not worth the hell. There’s no way to trace where the boat went. No marker or anything. And I couldn’t even defend myself against the shark. Seems like this isn’t Far Cry 3, where you have a “MASH (key here)” option to save your life.
Getting sent to the hospital, resetting my progress… no. Just no. I thought if it’s possible to just have Trevor with me, and use him as my blip of where the boat is at all times. That way, it won’t get lost. Nope. I just tried to Hang Out with Trevor, and you’re stuck with the one that invited.
I was hoping to switch to Trevor and have him captain the dinghy. Nope. Will only allow me to pick Franklin.

.
So the second thing. This was before I had Franklin go up to get on the dinghy. I wanted him to do his side mission. There was this dog who acted like Lassie.. yet it was weird. The dog was trolling Franklin, messing with his mind.
Eventually, the dog lead him to its ‘master’… and the dog vanished. Is Franklin losing it? So he rescues this skydiver who’s stuck with his parachute in a tree, yet wishes he didn’t as he’s peer pressured into a skydiving mission, plus bike racing down Mount Chillad.
Thankfully, the racing part, you just have to stay on the track and with the guy. You don’t have to win it. Though I was getting annoyed by the constant “Franklin bailed out of the race” when I fell off.

.
Where was I getting with this post? …… Oh yeah. Cops are assholes, and seem to know where you are at all times.

Patch 6.1 almost done, it’s freakin’ hilarious

I said “No PTR Patch note posts!”…. this one, deserves it. This one, proves what a shit company Blizzard has turned into. It proves they have… lost grip of reality. It both makes me laugh hysterically and facepalm at the same time.

S.E.L.F.I.E Cameras. New follower missions. Twitter integration. More grinding. More stupidity. And what do some people say to this? “Go Raid”. Because raiding is definitely more important to Blizzard than moving the story forward. Because raiding is the only endgame content in WoW. ….I really wish Blizzard was trolling.
Patch 6.1 is going to go down as the worst patch in WoW history. I hope they’re proud to hang that on one of their their walls in Irvine, next to a picture that says “We’re better than you!”

Bellular, he’s all worried the fact there’s nothing going on with that datamined info at the start of the PTR, about that possible new quest hub at the Iron Docks. Seriously, what happened to this? I’ll tell you. Three words. Black. Rock. Foundry happened. As I said, it’s more important than this. Blizzard thinks everyone should raid, and everyone should be in a raid guild.
They’ve truly gone insane. Though there’s one thing I can’t wait to see, and that’s how many subscriptions they’re going to lose over this. Also I loved it when he said “it’s your fault for pissing me off, Blizzard.”

They have announced that in 6.2, the Garrison Campaign will continue. Yay… NO!! FUCK GARRISONS!! GIVE US NON-GARRISON CONTENT!!! …Not going to happen.
On top of this, they mention “many other types of outdoor content” in 6.1. I haven’t seen it? Where’s content that hasn’t already been done, Blizzard? Harrison Jones’ content? That’ll get old fast. It isn’t getting us away from the Garrison. It’s giving us another fucking Garrison Follower after completing it!
Seriously, what are they smoking to become so blind to player concerns? I really want some of it.

Though how it would be good, is if(and that’s a gigantic if) they use Patch 6.2 to finally move the fucking story forward. Give us access to Tannan Jungle as was said back in 6.1 (which didn’t happen). Let us kill Grommash, and get the fuck out of Draenor while giving the continent the middle finger. I already have. Screw Gul’dan. He’s no threat right now. He’s cannon fodder for people that are doing the Legendary Questline. Just put an anti-magic bullet into his head and he’s done. Also, screw Khadgar and his clones.

I just wanted to get this off my chest.

MRT Drama… MRT Drama never changes

I’m talking about the MRT Skype chat. This has nothing to do with me, by the way. I wanted to join to voice my opinion on what I felt of the first ever road proposal of the new server and map.
Though I never got any support of what I should do, I kind of wish I never asked. About 10 minutes after I joined and said my peace, yeamanator showed up and expressed his distaste for the server, with lalaboy who seemed to be joining their conversation somewhat.

He told me how “Frumple likes to manipulate situations”, and is “a control freak” and “uses the ‘I pay for the server’ excuse to cover his ass.” I don’t see this from Frumple at all. Yeamanator is clearly just being ridiculous and childish. Though I never said this to him. All I said is “Well, he does pay for the server. I don’t see how that’s an excuse.”
And then Casey leaves the chat, and Music is all “YAAY”. I think this proves the temp ban isn’t going to help cool him down.

Though it would be a waste of time to tell Frumple about all of this. Let him handle it. The Skype chat isn’t ran by the MRT, therefore isn’t under the same rules.
What can he do about opinions anyway? He gets them all the time, and his generic (yet truthful) reply is “You can leave the server, you know”. This isn’t the first time a former member or members has had a comment about how the server is ran, through Skype.

Though it plainly seems I’m not going to get support from them.
