The update has happened. The free 200MB speed jump from my ISP, has happened. Happened around 1:55am.
Was deleting all of my watched ED videos (to help remove the thought of ever playing it), and went to the bottom to make sure I got them all. Notice the thumbnails weren’t showing up and thought it was just a glitch.
Went back to the Youtube homepage and refreshed, and notice it wouldn’t load. Just happened to glance over at my modem and saw it wasn’t connected. Instantly I thought “..Ohh shit! I’m getting the upgrade!!!”
A minute later, it went back online. Checked Speedtest and did a test. I had my doubts it actually was the upgrade, then my jaw dropped to the floor when I saw it shoot over 30MB, over to the red zone AND STILL GOING UP!!! 😀
And my upload speed is almost my old download speed, sitting at 24MB. That’s a far cry from being 5MB before. So the totals were 199.64MB down(did go up to 202MB), and the 24.00MB up.
Checked Thunderbird (my email client). No email from Time Warner. I assume I’ll get one in the morning. But this is AWESOME!! I’m 170MB faster now, and for the same price as before!
Ohhh…I can’t wait to watch a random Youtube video tomorrow afternoon, and pray to the lord and savior Jesus Christ, that I will never, ever, have a buffering issue when trying to watch a video in 1080p for the rest of my pathetic life!
.
Or.. so I thought. About 5 days ago, there was emergency maintenance. And since then, I’m getting buffering issues again. This time, Time Warner won’t do shit about it because they don’t see a problem on their end.
The problem is high ping, around 40-60. Yet they’re all “well, if it’s not at 100, there’s no real issue”. All I know is it was working perfectly. Now, it’s not. I’m still getting the 200MB.. sometimes. In some servers I check with Speedtest.net, sometimes the speed can be between 50MB to 230MB down.
Do know this, of what has been happening ever since the upgrade. When downloading, sometimes the speed fluctuates instead of staying at a constant speed as before.
