Garry has announced today that all files 1MB and over, will be downloaded through a torrent.
What the FUCK is he thinking?!?! He wants us to use the very thing piraters use! This is wrong. This… is just wrong.
Why can’t he use mirrors to host these large files through other sites? But I’m sure the authors of these downloads will probably be going to other places where a torrent is not required to download.
I don’t wanna feel like a pirate by getting these files. Sure it’s legal, but… what I’ve done using this program isn’t. I got the first two EP’s of Fallout 3 through it. Not to mention Webcam Max.
I vowed to never use a torrent for the rest of my life. And now Garry’s shoving it in my face that I HAVE to use this.
Bad thing. If I refuse to use it, that just means more speed for the others to use it. All I’ll be doing is declining myself to get these great files.
But I don’t give a shit. I made a promise and I’m putting my foot down.
They claim torrents are not the same as pirating. How? How are they not the same?
You download cracks — entire games, through torrents. And they say they aren’t the same? What about The Pirate Bay? All of their downloads you can get from the same program being used to download files from garrysmod.org.
Maybe I’ve just been listening to the people that say torrents are illegal. Though the torrents from garrysmod.org are not. But still, having to use a program that CAN download entire games, for free…illegally. And garry is promoting the use of torrents.
One thing I don’t agree to people that don’t like this; Some people claim you can get viruses. This is true, but this is why you have an up to date AntiVirus like mine to take care of these pests.
One thing’s for sure. When BeniesBuilds.com finally gets it’s shit together and turns into my idea, I won’t be using garrysmod.org to host our downloads.

However, better news, another update to Gmod has been released. This fixes the crash when saving bug that was caused by the last update.
So now I can get back to work making contraptions.

And on top of it all, I got banned for a week because of what I said about him fixing the Save Game feature in Gmod. Garry thought I was being an ass, which I wasn’t. So I just got done trying to reduce my ban to a day by saying I’m sorry. I just hope it doesn’t get me into deeper trouble.
If I get permabanned over this, I’m going to uninstall Gmod and tell all of my friends to do the same in retort. But… ehh. That won’t save anything.
