1,000th blog post! / Space Engineers fun times

WOOT!! Congrats to me! This is the 1,000th blog post in the Games Blog! 😀 Here’s to 2,000, 5,000, and even 10,000 posts in the future!

With that out of the way, on Tuesday, ZoS managed to restore my chars and now I can play ESO again. Though I haven’t gotten ingame to ‘access the damage’. Instead, I feel what happened there warrants a ‘vacation’ from the game, and play another game. Aka, Space Engineers. I hope this vacation allows my brain to think more clearly, instead of using “FUCK THIS GAME!!!” thoughts.

But anyway…yes, Space Engineers. The game that makes you use your brain to figure out how to build a working space ship (or a rover, or a lander, or an atmospheric-only ship, or a… you get the point).

Mr “inspiration takes time” Adm. zalex (or just ‘zalex’ for short), he and his younger brother (I assume) have been enjoying Spring Break since this week’s Monday. Zalex says he’s been waiting for this, as he would be able to build a nice, big large ship for me. A huge exploration-class ship that can handle deep space inter-planetary voyages, with lots of cargo for the long trips.
Been on his server for all this week. And recently I started using voice chat with them. Learned quite a bit about them. Recently, they got their drivers licenses. And I’m here… still walking. Meh. I think I might make another post in my General blog about that.
I also learned that zx98’s real name is Zack. That’s cool. Also, they’re both pretty big sci-fi fans (and I can obviously see this in the ship designs they do). I even asked them if they’ve gone to one of those conventions, and Zalax says how he’d loved to go to one of them, but can’t find any in their state (South Carolina).

So let’s get to the nitty gritty here. I learned that Zalax likes ‘small-ish large ships’, instead of huge large ships(which I’m fond of). I believe that this is why he’s delaying building me a ship. That or he probably knows I’m using him. What’s ironic is his own brother is also using him. I’ve seen several ships in his collection of ships on the Steam Workshop, most with the word “mooch” somewhere in the title, and using the word “Zalaxville” in the description.
Zalax has tried to build me a ship, like four times. He’s currently working on a rather large one (once again, based off of Star Wars). Yet I can never seem to get him to help me with my current ship (that really needs some love).

And that is what irritates me about him. I don’t need him to build me a new ship. I need him to make my CURRENT one better! Yet everytime I try to ask him in the most polite way I can think of (which I’m forced to lower my impatience level greatly), it’s always “I’ll help you in the afternoon” *afternoon comes* “I’ll help you tomorrow” *tomorrow comes* “I’m working on this right now, I’ll help you later on” *later on comes* “I’ll help you tomorrow”
I’m getting tired of these delays!

This has forced my hand. Forced to say “FUCK it! I’ll do it myself!” …. And somehow, I turned my anger and frustration, into progress. I’ve pretty much gutted the ship (but being careful not to delete anything connected to a critical joint that allowed that huge part of the ship to stay attached).
I’ve shortened the length of the ship to the bridge, and greatly widened the body of the ship to support four rooms. Captain’s Quarters, Mess Hall, Crew Quarters, and a Server Room. I’ve re-positioned the accessway of the engine room(instead of having a long walkway down, it now uses a stairwell), and added actual elevators to access the shuttle bay. Speaking of the bay, it’s now longer, higher, and wider to support both a small fighter and a rover.

Overall, the new redesign looks awesome. The main interior of the ship, is based on an ‘8’(except not as round). Though I had to spread out the access from the bridge to the rooms. And last night, I had to mold the new exterior to latch onto the old exterior of the ship. That was fun.
I feel the ship is nearly completed. But there’s two major things I need to figure out.
–1. Where in the hell am I going to put the thrusters? Right now, the ship has no maneuvering thrusters (or any thrusters of that matter), only the gyros to keep it from floating away. I even had to use my new small ship to stop it from moving on me. The new ship, Zalax did (by request), the Pyro-GX from Descent I and II. It’s pretty nice, but it also feels too big and bulky compared to the actual game version. First off, the game version doesn’t have a passenger seat.
Zalax said that he would redo it, but… you know how it is. When he has other plans, he forgets everything else.
–2. I want to put an airlock somewhere on the exterior of the ship, where it’ll be able to connect to a station. I feel like I need to put it on the farthest surface of the ship (to avoid damage from merge blocks. And the farthest would be the Aft of the ship. Another idea is to just have it on one of the “spread out” arms, and just extend that to make it a proper airlock.
Though I might just do a connector instead of an airlock, as it seems most stations use these to connect to ships. Or I might just do both.

A 3rd thing would be figuring out how to get Oxygen moving through the ship. But I’m not that good with conveyors. The only issue with that, is there’s a pretty bad bug with Oxygen (which is why I have to leave it off).
The bug is with Oxygen on planets. It causes severe mini-studdering when on the planet surface (yet only happens in Creative). I haven’t seen this on Zalex’s server, but I have felt it before. And I need to know if this bug has been fixed before I tackle this rather “fun” task. I think I have an idea to use the roof for it, and pump oxygen in from the ceiling.

.
Anyway, it’s pointless to ask for Zalex’s help. He’s just going to delay it more and more. I’m sick of delays.
EDIT: He actually helped me today! And boy did he help. He helped so much, my ship is DONE! D A finally completed (yet also a collaborated) project, of my requests and his building skills. He says he loves what I’ve done. Always awesome to hear praise like that.

Was playing around with it in my Single Player world, and it’s exactly what I wanted..to be able to watch the asteroids drift by the ship as it slowly makes its way to its destination.
My only gripe with the ship, is it’s a pain in the ass to get to and from the shuttle bay. I may just get rid of the whole elevator idea and go with the old shaft that I had before. Because, this isn’t working for me. I need something that’s more reliable. Plus, having three elevators feels too much.
Access to the shuttle bay should not feel limited due to the speed (and the unreliability) of the elevator.
Actually, I could just screw the elevators completely and go with a stairway leading down to it. That would be more efficient.

The only remaining things I ask of him (and he said he doesn’t mind), is redoing the rover he made to support moving around in space (incase I need it), and redoing the Pyro-GX to make it hopefully not as bulky.

I also discovered both the Pyro and my rover both fit (barely) in the new shuttle bay. I think I might redesign the bay once again to make it even wider, where it’ll act like a garage for my two small things (they should be able to sit between eachother, instead of “Ok, I got to get this one out to get the other”.

Subnautica “Crash Sequence” update released

I’ve seen so busy with trying to get my internet connection to stop having a high ping, that I forgot to check up on the other sides of gaming…such as Single Player! Subnautica specifically.
This update is pretty much based on its title, but it also is a gateway to the future of making the story of Subnautica a thing. Yes, the game actually has a story.. or will soon in the coming months.

This update improves the opening sequence when the player does a new game…..kind of a reason to wipe out your old save to check out the new stuff. Now, a fire is in the Life Pod. Find the fire extinguisher and get the fire out to have access to everything.
Also, the First Aid station now has a Medkit! Finally.

Last thing, there’s a short wave communicator now. Possibly the last transmission between Earth and the Aurora before being hit by the unknown beam and crashing on the alien water world, could be stored on it.

When it’s best to just give up, and go back to easier enemies

My DK is now Level 37, questing in Eastmarch. But a few days ago, I was in Wrothgar trying to do this quest to re-unite this Orc clan. First I had to go in this obviously soloable dungeon. Again, I had trouble killing everything due to their really large health pools (but still managed). At the end, I met this young Orc who her mother was worried about her, but she’s all “ugh, I can take care of myself!”
The puzzle here was rather interesting. It had all the three role types of any MMORPG out there; Tank/Healer/DPS, on plaques with a brazier infront of each of them. And the way I figured it out is.. pretty much the order of importance of a standard dungeon group; Healer>Tank>DPS. Because without a healer, the group is fucked (unless they don’t need one).

Figuring this out, we accessed this ancient Orc area that she was sure a shield or some helm (I forgot) that was locked in a special case, which can only be opened by activating a few specific things, would unite the Orc clan.
I saw these nearly lifelike statues in the halls of the place, thinking anytime, a few of them were going to come to life. And I was right. They nearly kicked my ass, but I got them down.
What DID kick my ass (and nearly cause me to break my left hand’s wrist due to…) was in the next room. Saw three guys on this statue table that suddenly come to life. They pwn me by shredding through my shield as if I didn’t have it. I did manage to beat them the second time I tried.
But the real rager was when I managed to activate this machine in the middle of the room. A huge gargoyle appeared behind me… 166k HP. I tried everything I could, but my health was getting dangerously low. I’m forced to run around with it right on my tail… and due to the high respawning of solo dungeons, the group that pwned me came back and I had THEM chasing after me, too!
At this time, I’m losing my shit and yell at my monitor “Just fucking kill me!!” Of course they have no problem doing that. And the next thing I did, let’s say I’m not proud of it. My left wrist is still sore from the repeated banging on my computer table (as I said, this was two days ago). Don’t think I broke my wrist, as I can still move it freely without too much pain. But this is what happens when the game wants to be unfair to me.

I’m sitting there, dead as a doorknob, thinking I should definitely quit this game. And then I saw my Guild being active and asked them “Why is Orsinium so difficult…?”
They asked me what my level was, and told them (it was 31 at the time) and mentioned how everyone’s V16 here.
They told me it’s best to do at that level, and I told them what I was told that “any level can do it”, followed by “I call BS”. But they convinced me to just go back to “the non-vet areas”.
Really wish Zos told everyone that it’s recommended to be V16 to enjoy the content. But I rezzed at the closest Wayshrine the game could find and teleported out of there; back to Shadowfen. I then killed someone just to see if I was back, and they died in 5 seconds… it’s so good to feel OP again.

One other thing to note. I feel like I’m going to hit V1 before my Sorcerer did (mainly due to being in the Orsinium DLC, and the 10% XP increase for being an ESO+ subscriber). This feels a bit bad, as all the quests here are green-colored. I also got into the Mages and Fighters Guild questlines (to get the Persuasive and Intimidate dialog options unlocked, mainly).
Also, I actually saw a Stam Sorcerer while leveling, using a bow as his only ability. They actually do exist! Amazing. I’m NOT the only one that sucks at this game! 😀

The ‘vacation’ to Orsinium

Once a Level 26 DK, now a Level 31. Also completed his Level 30 SP Questline. This time I picked Tharn instead of Lyris to accompany me to save Sai Sahan. Died once to Lyris’ Doppleganger (thankfully that was the only time I died).

After completing the quest, I decided to visit Davon’s Watch again. As I approached the main center of the city, I was approached by a messenger that popped out of nowhere, saying “You don’t know how long I’ve waited for you”. And it was an invite to Orsinium.
I was actually planning to start getting the quests for the Fighters and Mages Guilds for him, but somehow I wound up near the recruiter I saw before I got ESO+. This time, having the invitation, I got told I need to follow a caravan.
I’ll spare the spoilers of what happened to said caravan. But I need to add that all the mobs here are… V16. Somehow I’m able to kill them, but only 1/4 the speed I normally can. I feel very weak against these guys (weapon wise, not gear wise). Was told by my Guild that they scaled the player to be V16 (including gear).

But when I was trying to solo this soloable dungeon (all by myself mind you), I died a lot due to how ridiculously weak my blows were (gave the enemy more time to kill me). Where it would take about 5-10 seconds to kill someone, takes 15-30 here. Plus, they seem to keep ripping through my shield. I’m trying to focus on the shield and I cannot focus on the red at the same time (plus having to focus on Stamina and Magicka levels).
Half of me wants to quit and go back to the normal zones. The other half wants me to keep going. And I’ve actually listened to my ‘keep going’ side everytime I have that urge to give up. Though I also wish I had a helper mod (like the ones I had in WoW) that would do all the tactical combat thinking for me. But no one wants to make one. Obviously (to them), there’s no need as the game is so easy to figure out your class and class abilities (again.. to them).

What really sucks about this game, it can’t treat gear like WoW treats gear; making dropped gear a viable option for people that don’t craft their own gear. Even Guild Wars 2 and

I also can’t keep depending on crafting guilds to keep my gear upgraded. Though it makes me wonder if I should take my main and get him into crafting gear for my DK (until he gets up to Veteran status). That is a good viable idea. Just I never had really high Production professions in any MMO.
This could be my first time, and it’ll stop having to depend on them (or even need to be a part of a crafting guild).
I wish normal (dropped) gear was more important to use. But I always get the wrong things I need. And by the time I find a set, I’m already 3-4 levels above it and have to replace again. Plus, it’s really ridiculous the way the accessory system works.

This just in: ESO punishes people who don’t think quickly

Well, that would actually be old news. But what I have to say is a bit of new and old. On my Sorcerer, I started thinking what people were saying in the thread I made of trying to get them to force my brain to understand that learning my class is important.
A few of them said to turn my current DragonKnight into a Magicka DK. Or if not, consider becoming a Werewolf. Stating how being a Werewolf has “Hunterlike abilities”. What they meant from ‘Hunterlike’ is how I mentioned the reason I’m playing a Sorcerer.. “because it has pets”. Aka like the Hunter from WoW.

The whole Werewolf thing did interest me. I wondered if it would be anything like being a forced Werewolf from following the Companions’ questline in Skyrim. Discovered only one of the two things are there; having to feed on enemies to extend the time one can remain in Werewolf form.

.
There’s also another thought I had. I felt that if I actually listened to people, I’d get the most out of my DK. Asked in my Guild and was told by a ‘phoggey’ to go to this website.
I looked at it, and thinking “oh wow.. all I have to do is copy this person’s build! This’ll be EASY! :D” Yet the website confused me. The top (if you go to the website), you can see the top of it is a Non-Vet PvP / Leveling build. Yet the skill bars were strange; especially the second bar for having two bow abilities (when the gear info shows no bow).
Told the phoggey person, and they said that this guy (the one that did the build) is an idiot. And I say “well why did you tell me to go here?” They never respond to this sensible question, but mentions the gear I need is in the PvE area.
Basically, the person that made this build got the two things mixed up. The thing is, the PvE area shows gear that’s only for V16. And I’m only a Level 28. So instead of getting this ‘Vet Maelstrom’ gear, get ‘Night Mother’ gear instead. Also, phoggy said to go with the second skill bar as my primary (the one with a bow). Personally, I had my doubts. But I hoped that I would have enough DPS to keep the mobs away from me (or even kill them before they reach me).

With the gear now known, I asked in my crafting guild for the pieces. The first person to respond said that they were nowhere near the crafting area that can create this set. So I was forced to wait a solid hour for more people to join and asked again. Finally I got someone that can make what I needed. Unfortunately, they didn’t have enough mats to fully complete what I needed. There’s also a personal matter, of being asked “I need X of Z”, and forced to say “Unfortunately, I don’t have any Z”. The person even asked me “are u new to ESO?”… that felt a bit harsh. Told them I was semi-new, and had no points in any profession. Yet it seemed everything was OK.

Anyway, I now have everything I need. Since I haven’t played as a DK for a long time, I try to practice on a few mobs. They somewhat stay away from me, having enough DPS to severely wound them to the point they die before they reach me. Yet not all mobs do this, such as casters which can really make me panic when my health drops. Plus, I will usually have people that manage to get in my face and attempt to kill me. These guys, I think they’re kind of worse than casters. Especially mini-bosses.
And it’s mainly due to two things. The first is how your hotbar grays out when moving, and second…. is how I constantly have to look at my keyboard to make sure I’m pressing the right keys. I’ve been so used to mouse-clicking my abilities, it’s not funny.
Having to run away like a pussy because I’m about to die, makes me feel weak and pathetic. I feel I need a melee weapon to really knock the shit out of them. I’ve seen most DKs use Melee weapons anyway. A bow is really only needed to pull ranged targets to me.

So I asked for the 2H Maul (the other thing that was in the gear list). Getting someone to respond at nearly 2 in the morning, I really felt there was no way. But someone did respond. Except, not exactly in my favor — saying the maul I want cannot be crafted, that it’s from the Thieves Guild EP.
Then they mention something about changes and just gobbidy gook that I didn’t give a fuck about. Only thing I cared was “can it be made or not?” And sure enough it was. Yet I feel that by using this, isn’t going to make me a better player. The fact I use my keyboard’s arrow keys instead of WSAD to move, I feel it will always keep me from really achieving my potential (in all MMOs).
I’ve been so used to just standing still and shooting at things instead of moving around and dodging. I am trying this ‘new’ mode of play, but my brain can’t seem to process what buttons to push in a split second. Well, sometimes it does.. but most of the times, it doesn’t. And that’s even more embarrassing when I got another player near me, depending on me to help him complete a quest.

As for the Werewolf form, it is pretty nice. Though I find it also a bit unfair. The fact you can only go in that form when your Ultimate is charged, and the fact I have to literally grind to get it ready (as I must stay in that form in order to level it to unlock the abilities).
What really annoys me, is I have to have a weapon in the second hotbar set to enable it to have all of my WW abilities. Also, I have to have my WW ultimate as my primary Ultimate (as it only charges when you damage mobs, and must be active).

Two last things before I close this post;
1. Somehow my DK is able to use Champion Points, yet is not a Veteran.
2. The feeling that I’m unable to give mats for my guilds’ free gear service, I feel is going to eventually bite me in the ass. They could see me as someone to avoid because I don’t contribute (by throwing things they need in the Guild Bank.. which I have done and will always do).

.
EDIT: Trying out the new maul. It feels like a new way to say “FUCK YOU!!” to all the assholes that are trying to kill me(especially the Uppercut ability). I like it. It’s better than the bow. I feel like I’m more in control of the fight, especially when fighting in 3rd person. I’m playing in this view more, as I can see enemy positions better (and I can see their ‘red’ attacks).

The things I don’t get about ESO: TU

Having nearly given up due to the # 1 thing that plaques me with MMORPGs (the words “learn” and “try” when it comes to my class), there’s still a few things I just don’t get about this game.

The first one, is the occasional bugged quest. Here I am, a VR3 Sorcerer in Ravenspire(the only north coast outside of Skyrim), trying to do this quest of finding this scattered family. Two of them end up at members I must kill.. yet I never get quest credit.
And here’s the “thing I don’t get”. Zenimax, even though they made the quests… they offer no support if you run into a bugged one. Why? I fucking wish I knew, so I wouldn’t be mentioning this!
Blizzard offered support in WoW, why not these guys?! They make the quests. They should be held accountable when said quests get bugged! I bet they rather be all “let’s blame the addons you’re using!” instead of looking into the problem.

Ohh.. and let’s not forget this fucking whore bitch(maybe a tad too much cursing) that I had to talk to after leaving a tower. Told me to go outside and she’ll be ready. I go outside, and she isn’t anywhere near me. I’m looking around, going outside of those circular quest area. I hear her saying “Where are you going?!” (yet not seeing her).
Finally, I see her standing there on a hill next to the tower! Ugh. So I run up to her and try to start her quest… and then she says “Fine, I’m going back to the tower” and runs back in. ………………….. WTF?!?!
So I have to go back in, talk to her again and she’s all “NOW do you want to try to speak to me?” About ready to slap my monitor (hoping to slap her face). I go back outside, and she finally appears behind me!
Fucking hell, Zenimax! FIX YOUR GAME!!

.
And the second thing. A thing I swear I was never going to do because I felt they “didn’t deserve it”. … I got ESO+. The reason, is I’m HOPING by doing so, would entice them to fix their fucking game! Though I feel they’re going to just pocket my $15/mo.

There’s also a final thing I don’t get. The Crown Store. There’s barely anything I would be interested in. The majority of it, literally supports RPers. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with this, just wish there was more useful stuff (like more mount choices) that would be worth the crowns, instead of pointless costumes that you’ll only share with your friends (and don’t give an advantage like true armor can).
It also burns my ass everytime I see things like non-combat pets, costing 700 crowns each. Besides greed, I don’t get this. Why can’t they give you these things for free after completing challenging quests? I think I rather have a Guar for a pet than a 2H axe I can’t use.
Or maybe I forget.. ESO =/= WoW. WoW is a much, much bigger game. And I feel like the fact it’s subscription-based instead of F2P, they can offer more useful stuff (as they have a larger dev team). And I use the term “useful stuff” loosely.. as we all know what fun WoD is.

Anyway, with the extra crowns they gave me for getting ESO+ (and what I had left from the horse purchase), I got the Guar pet. I also got this thing called a ‘Dragon Frog’. Claims that all dragons were reduced to this thing.
What made it worth the 700 Crowns, is how it can breath fire and fly (as one of its idle animations).

My first taste of Multiplayer in Space Engineers

Leaving a unrelated note here. I have not forgotten about this month’s PS+ games for the PS4. Ohmrygud.. please stop emailing me about it! I know! I will get to them this month, I promise! Now get off my back!!

Sorry about that, folks. I’m having to deal with the masses. Anyway, today… is when I finally get my first taste of Multiplayer in Space Engineers. And I’m sure it’s going to be a taste that will force me to get to the bathroom and throw up. Now it’s not a public dedicated server I’ll be joining, but either my own or ‘his’ (hasn’t been decided yet).
Who is “his” you ask? ‘Adm. zalex’ is his name on Steam. Some time ago, I saw his work in a screenshot while trying to find a ship with a shuttle bay, and I did my best to copy it as much as I could.
I friended him, as I wanted him to throw it on the Steam Workshop so I could check it out closer. Got to be able to do so.

Now.. I need his help. Remember when I mentioned how I lost my updates to the SS Benie (my large ship)? Basically what happened, I used Space Engineers Toolkit to bring my ship over to me (as I didn’t know where it was). I also deleted a bunch of objects that were listed as “Floating…”
I think by doing this, caused the map to corrupt itself. What was weird, it removed the map from my list yet kept saying “Yo, I’m still corrupted!” I used the log to pinpoint the corrupted save and deleted it. And the message is gone.

Sadly, I barely remember any of the changes I made to the ship.. it’s been that long, and I’m kind of angered at myself for not doing a blueprint back then. It did teach me a lesson to do more blueprints.

As I said, I need his help. I want to make the ship un-ugly, and I don’t know where to start. All he told me is that dreaded ‘T’ word. No, not “Tornado”. Not “Terrorist”. And not even “Trump”(even though he is a threat).
The word… is “try”. Ugh. He said to look at ships on the workshop, even though I had already told him I tried this and had no ideas; only seeing the complexity and “god I wish I could build like that!”

So he said sometime today, he would message me about how we’re going to go about doing this. He’s currently Away at the time of this post.
I just hope he can help me un-ugly my ship (or at least revive the creative side of my brain that has been dead since Gmod). I even have a list of all the things I want in it (but again.. no idea on how to implement). Though I also feel this is going to be a serious waste of my time, as he’ll say “all I can tell you is to look around”. Not sure how the word ‘helpful’ would play into that.

.
EDIT: Half an hour passed. I asked him who will be hosting the server. Said he will. Had a bit of an issue trying to find his server (this is my first time, don’t judge me). But I finally found his “Server fun” server and quickly joined. I was shocked how quickly I got in. Amazing, compared to taking 5 minutes to load the game. The reason is because I’m not using my mods on his end (the mods he uses, stay on the server).
I discovered that I can paste my ship in. The thing is, if it doesn’t have the same mods he’s using, it won’t display properly. About 1% of the ship was kind of ruined due to the missing thrusters.
I asked him if he could de-ugly it, and he started building a ship near mine. I then told him I had a list of all the things I wanted, and posted it in the chat (hoping he’ll read it). Yet he never acknowledged. He did mention how he was confused of what I mean by wanting an ‘elevated bridge’.
I should had made what I was talking about, but for some reason… that thought never came to my mind. Plus, I did like what he was doing with the bridge he was building. The glass placement was good.

Thing is, as he continued to build the rest of the ship, I started to not like it. The first thing I didn’t like, was how low the ceiling was. He said how he made it to “look fast and sleek”. Also, none of my real requests were being made.
He did make a hanger bay… somewhat. It was similar to an idea I had (with the airtight door on the bottom). But with barely little room to get my rover and small ship in, I questioned how I was going to get them in.
He said to put one in, or “put them on the roof”…. seriously? Put them on the roof? The purpose of a hanger bay is to have it large enough for a small ship to be in!

He did have an issue, when he said he was going to try to fly it to see how the thrusters work. See, he created the ship as a station. That’s pretty clever, because by doing so, the ‘ship’ won’t move. Also, you can switch it from a ship to a station and back again, at anytime (as the large grid blocks are for both things).
His issue is he couldn’t get it converted into a ship. So he and his brother (named “zx98”) tried everything they could think of. Finally they got it. It was basically that annoying as hell faction system where everything must be set to ‘Me’ as ownership. Seriously, Keen… fix it to where when you build things, they’ll all be set to ‘Me’ in ownership automatically…

So he flew around this small’ish large ship around. Was pretty good.. still not what I was looking for. I even tried to remind him of the list I sent him. He said something about how it’s ‘short range’ or something like that. I just stared at him like “.. Seriously? This isn’t what I asked!”

He then says how things like a Captain’s Quarters really have no purpose in Space Engineers (right now), and he never built them. Obviously, he favors function over cosmetic. So I think “alright… fine. I guess I’m going to have to do it myself”. I’m looking at the bridge he made, thinking “this shouldn’t be too hard to do”. And then something just said “meh, fuck it”.
Then he said he had to do a restart of the server to add a few mods he forgot. I actually had to quit the server instead of it kicking me out for a change.

While I waited for him to get his server back on, he mentions the requests I made, of how “ill use them for a much larger ship’. Yet he never responded to my requests (I never bugged him about it) of when he’ll do it.
He added these heavy landing gears which can extend. Then he starts swearing at Keen for ruining pistons and “having to completely rebuild the landing system”. I had no idea what he was talking about. Discovered later that he made these strange stop blocks on the bottom to act like landing gears.

Overall, it’s a nice ship. Just… isn’t everything I want it. Plus, the main airlock I wanted, he put it on the ass of the ship. So you literally have to get into the ship’s ass to get in and out. That’s just.. wrong in so many levels. This isn’t a ‘small ship gone wild’. He should had put it on the side.
Though I did like the choice he made for the doors. It’s this new modded airlock door that slides open (and lets in/out air depending on where of the ship you are).
Speaking of air, he added oxygen and piping.. in a rather crude way. Exposed pipes everywhere. His brother is no better, having exposed pipes in his station.

With this, he’s all “alright, I’m done. You can paint it and I’ll upload it to the Workshop for you”. I’m thinking “wait.. paint it? I never painted my ships before”. Honestly, I never have. I usually just keep them that color.
After that, he was playing around with the ship by flying it around (and having fun with his brother by messing with his station). And I got to see why it’s important to be seated when a ship in Multiplayer is moving. Because I’ll go flying and bouncing over everything.
Speaking of his brother, he looked at my hilariously bad attempt at doing a ship and said how “this looks like one of my early builds”. -_-
He told me that he has zalax (his brother) do the ships for him, and also said how he’s better at doing stations. Checked out his station while zalax was working on that ship. Noticed he started with a really large hanger bay. And the style… shockingly looks like mine. He even made corridors that looked like mine.
I did notice him using merge blocks for the airlocks, and told him that I tried this with my station and it destroyed my ship. He said that any block connected to the sides of a merge block will attach, and to have them outward instead of being built inside the hull.
It looks tacky, but it would definitely work.

Soon he (Adm. zalax) reached a point he had to shut down the server due to having issues, and he uploaded the ship he made for me as ‘Benie Corvette Mk1’ on the workshop. I then finally asked him about this larger ship, and he said he’ll do it later; how he has homework to do. Then says “cya in a bit i hope”.
As far as I know, he never did. And the day after, he was too busy to do it.

But that’s all. It wasn’t as bad as I thought. Didn’t have that many issues. Though I am concerned on how busy his life his. I don’t like him being the only option I have that can build ships in SE. I need to find someone else who has more free time (yet is also nice).

I’m trying to get Tulsi into buying it. I’m hoping he’ll get good enough to where he can actually help me. Though I feel he’ll be at my level of building skill.. if not worse. And knowing Tulsi, he’s probably going to run around with a grinder and grind parts of my ship away because he’s “bored”, instead of thinking of something to build. Not to mention going AFK at random times.

ESO: TU, six months later

Hard to believe it’s been 6 months since I last played ESO: TU. Still remember when I had that annoying, “unfixable” ‘granny2.dll’ file missing, and how it was only because the game didn’t like the fact I had a ‘;’ in the folder. And I discovered that after I got fed up with the issues, is when I started doing my videos.

But before I could see if the issues have been fixed (not to mention sitting through 20+ updates of the launcher), I had issues trying to get Minion to work. It refused to work. Had to make an account on the ESOUI forum. Finally got help from trying to run the game through the command prompt. It’s very awkward, but it got it working, and I saw all but three of the addons I used were outdated.

I ran the game, and… the studdering is still there. SERIOUSLY?! Yes. Seriously. I posted a thread in their tech support section. I also complained how it took 10+ minutes to get into the game. And here I thought Space Engineers taking nearly 5 minutes to load was bad…

I waited for a response. Checked my settings, thinking there’s been a “stop the studdering” option. Didn’t see one. I did see a notification. Thinking it was “you’ve been removed from Guild name here due to inactivity”, I checked. And it looks like… I’m still in Enlightened Alliance! How?
The message states the GM and the Treasurer of the Guild haven’t come on for months. That’s.. interesting. Maybe as long as I’ve been gone? Maybe they too were turned off by the stupid updates of the developers?
So Socks, the person that wrote this, is trying to turn control of the Guild over to him(but can’t do it without the GM being on). However, he states that he too will be leaving the Guild “soon” and starting a new PvE guild.
Upon further research, I discovered the note was made a month after I went on hiatus. Also, half the Guild left (including Socks).
I’ll have to track him down, and see if I can join this new Guild of his. Because it seems Enlighted Alliance is… sadly dead.

There’s also a slight problem (but it is ‘fixable’. I seemed to be removed from the crafting guild that I had joined. Possibly due to inactivity. I’ll need to find another one, because I really need to get this Level 40 gear upgraded before I do any real soloing.

Also, I did find a fix to the studdering. A real fix at that (well, so far at least). Saw a thread about 5 or so threads below mine, stating having issues with lag when turning. Another person responds, saying to quit, and go into your UserSetttings.txt file (which is in C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live) and look for a ‘RequestedNumJobThreads’ and set it from -1 to 0.

Tried this, and the studdering is… GONE! 😀 Completely gone! Even on the highest settings, and with mods.. it’s GONE! 😀
From what I read, this setting assumes you have more than 4 cores on your CPU, making it overwork. Setting it to 0, I believe tells it to use what’s there instead of what’s not. If so, this was a really… really stupid option to have. But I’m glad I fixed it! Now I can finally enjoy ESO:TU again!

But first, I got to re-remember how to play (re-learn my rotation and the controls)…

.
EDIT: Tried to work with what I had (gear wise), still spamming any key I can.. trying to look for that “kill the enemy quickly” button. Also tried to do solo questing, and getting my ass handed to be by Imps and those walking tree things that I cannot pronounce their name at this moment. Plus, running around… gaining even more aggro on me while trying to run away from it all, was a great idea… SMH. :/
I’m also still getting sudden FPS drops when moving (but only in certain areas).

I knew I needed better gear stat. So I got to Mournhold and did a “LF crafting guild” in Zone chat. Waited about 10 minutes and got someone saying that they can give me an invite. I asked “if they can get me upgrades to my armor, I’ll join”. He responded saying he knows of two guilds; one that will craft for free (but has no guild merchant), and one that offers reasonable prices for crafting and has a merchant. Of course I went for the first one (because anything free in this game is a nice thing).

And the crafting guild I joined, is named “Molag’s Balla’z”. Odd name, but whatever. Really nice guild. They welcomed me with open arms.
So after five minutes of craziness of everyone suddenly wanting something, one of the guildies asked everyone what they wanted (as in “alright, form a line!”). I got my request done by a ‘GTupTup’. Really friendly person. Even understanded how I haven’t played in awhile.
He got me the upgrades I needed rather quickly. Here I thought I was going to need to wait ’till tomorrow to get them. But I got them within 15 minutes after telling him what I want. Finally, some Veteran 1 gear. Now I should be able to wreck faces again. 🙂

I also asked him if he could upgrade my necklace and rings. He said that I can just buy the rings and enchant them myself. Mentioned of just going to guild traders and looking around. I’ll do this.

What I want to see from Space Engineers, will never happen

Consider me a glutton for punishment. As in, the game’s punishing physics engine. Sadly it’s even worse in Multiplayer.
But what’s this? Yes.. I did say “I’LL NEVER PLAY THIS DAMN THING!!!”.. yet I’m playing again, still trying to make a rover that will do whatever the fuck I throw at it. And due to my awesome nature of never being happy, I’ll never get it.

Because what I want, will never be possible in this game. I always ask way.. way too much from physics engines; taxing it past its limits and then screaming like an 8 year old at my monitor when the game refuses to do what I want.
And what I want to see… wasn’t planets. Sure, planets are nice. But when rovers are absolute SHIT at going over “what the hell am I doing here?!” terrain, there’s really no point to play.
Don’t understand how a rover cannot handle jagged terrain. It’s supposed to be an ATV. My only guess is I need to use the 5×5 wheels to have a rover to do what I want. Thought of another design, to have an interior to it. But with how blocky the blocks are, this is being thrown for a loop as well.

What I want from this game (besides tons of optimization), is AI players. Fully customizable, able to board ships or whatever and act like human players. To even be able to say “I need a lift!”, and having an AI come down with a dropship to grab my rover and take me back to my main ship.
Right now, you can actually have semi-AI pilots fly around a pre-determined course (yet the player has to set it up via GPS coords) by using remote control. Yet they aren’t going to be smart enough to act like real players.
Another thing I want real players, is it would give me an incentive to build a large ship that has a crew quarters, where they can hang out. And to see them running around the ship would be so cool. It’ll feel like I’m not alone anymore.

I guess I’m just getting bored exploring by myself. I really wish I could join a server and get advice on how I can improve my current builds (really, I do. I would love to be able to build like a pro). But I cannot. It’s not the fact I’m too scared, it’s the fact Multiplayer is a fucking mess right now. The physics are just so messed up, it’s amazing their ships aren’t randomly combusting just by idling in space.

So… I dunno what I’m going to do. To stop playing, doesn’t fix anything. It really doesn’t. Plus I lost all the edits I did to my modified SS Benie, because I forgot to make a blueprint, and it pissed me off so much when it was having issues. I think I know what caused it. But sadly I cannot test as all of those edits are gone.
I thought of just rebuilding the damn thing. I got somewhat of an idea for the bridge. Yet the rest is a complete blur. It’s very annoying.

Subnautica “Farming” update RELEASED!

It took two days, but it’s finally released! Here’s the list of changes with this update;
-You can now grow alien flora around (and inside) your Seabases. You can make planters for both exterior and interior use, and add seeds similar to adding fish to the aquarium.
-You can also have potted plants that can be pretty much be placed anywhere.
-The ‘Large Aquarium’ blueprint has been added to the game. If you put two fish of the same type, they will breed like rabbits. You can also use this as a ‘Watervator’ for your Seabase.
-Abandoned Seabases (as I mentioned before) have had a major facelift. They now look more rotten and aged, as if they’ve been there for a very long time. You can also find ‘Salvaged PDAs’ to unlock the fact, other humans were trying to colonize this water planet before the Aurora showed up. Also, there’s more Seabases now, but they’re kind of hard to find.
-Three new light sources have been added to the game. The ‘Floodlight’, the ‘Lightstick’, and the ‘Spot Light’. All of them require a battery to operate, and can be replaced.
-Lighting of certain biomes has once again been updated to look more natural (and also respond in real time to the sun’s position).

This is just a handful of the many.. many changes of this update. Unfortunately, I cannot find a full list of changes; only what the devs are giving everyone. Guess the rest are for us to find.
