As promised from last night, it’s time to talk about something positive for once. And that positive thing, is I made my first test world in VRChat. 🙂

DMing Oliver, was able to put a weeks-long concern to rest; Unity’s Asset Store. I remember long ago, taking a peek and seeing nothing free (which is what’s been keeping me from making my own world). Yet he said that when you search for something, you have an option of ‘FREE ONLY’ (which only shows models that are free).
And with this video he showed me (that took me three days afterward until I got to a point where ‘everything else is boring’), watching it actually delivered on Oliver’s promise (that it’s quite easy to learn).
Once you lay down the foundation for the world, all you do is.. simply pull out a model and plop it into the world! It’s that easy!! Within 10 minutes, I had made a small-ish world (with a small shack, a barrel, and a box with a bottle on it).

And loading into that world (in VRChat), I felt a slight sense of pride and accomplishment. For I didn’t follow the tutorial exactly, and made my own concept.
“I.. built this.” kept going through my mind. I actually made something in VRChat, that I CREATED FROM SCRATCH MYSELF (that’s not 2D)!! 😀
And thanks to the VRChat Discord’s #world channel, I was able to (eventually) learn how to turn an object into a throwable object! Something that took Oliver days until he figured it out, took me only an hour (as I didn’t know half the things they were telling me).
Due to the complexity of needing to add a total of five scripts (just to make an object throwable), I made a ‘cheatsheet’ listing the names of these scripts.
And after several attempts (including getting some help from Oliver), I was able to make a ‘bed chair’ (like he has it in his first world). Aka, to simulate sleeping in a bed. Apart from the fact the player is in a ‘sitting’ position (instead of a ‘laying’ position..sadly there’s nothing I can do about that), as stated it works pretty good.
I also made a bedside carpet…. and went a bit nuts with the texture. This is the fixed result, creating another 2D plane and slapping the gif art down (and scaling it to fit just inside the carpet below, to make it look like it’s part of the actual carpet). I absolutely love the results.
Before I stopped working on it last night (due to following Oliver to Best Boi lands after he showed me another world he was working on), I tried to import a couch from models-resource. And.. um. It took a bit until I feel it’s more of a realistic size.

But this is all part of something I plan to do in the near future (that is.. whenever my brain decides to eventually think of a way to realistically shape the terrain). I plan to completely wipe it clean and make it bigger, faster, and stronger (by making a custom house (with a path leading down to a large river). The only thing that bugs me, is if its possible to actually have a basement for it.
If it is, then that’s where I’ll store my uploaded avatars. Probably put them in a storage room.

…I’m playing something other than VRChat!! Of course there’s a reason for this. It’s a mixture of a drama with Jada (again), and having three weddings happen in less than a week. Twitchin’s VRChat sister got married.. and even Trigger got married.
This was a pretty heavy toll to my emotions, and I finally convinced myself that the game “doesn’t ‘need’ me to be on all the time”.

And now I’m finally playing another game, but this game is something I had uninstalled a year ago — due to two things. The first one feeling like a lie that it was a singleplayer game (which wasn’t a lie, just me failing to read), and the second is having a set amount of lives.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m talking about Warframe. And the reason why I picked this game (instead of others), is because there used to be a free weapons pack (of getting a set of weapons and shit). That free pack chance has since expired.
I was told that they finally removed the super annoying limited respawns ‘feature’, but replaced it with a set number of respawns of the current mission. This is SOO much better, and less punishing.

And thanks to it, I’ve actually completed the campaign (and unlocked free play mode). And I do mean ‘free’ when I say ‘free play’. The devs are smart, and do not force microtransactions (and/or blocking further content behind a paywall(aka DLCs)).
Though, the content is a bit.. ehh. It feels like they’re recycling the same level design from time to time. It doesn’t really feel rewarding (apart from getting mods and stuff for your weapons (and your Warframe)).
I hope to see actual new content (now I’ve left Earth and at Venus). Such as feeling high pressure and stuff. Yet if I keep seeing recycled level designs, I think I’ve had enough.

What started off as a pretty hum drum evening, turned out to be one of the most hilarious, unscripted things I’ve ever seen in this game. Never before have I been able to see (let alone attend) a wedding in this game.
But I was able to finally attend one (in the official wedding world), one of Twitchin’s friends would tie the knot (while she was doing this 24 hour live stream). Creepery invited me, while we were ‘cake hunting’ back in Best Boi lands (as someone was painstakingly attempting to put the cake back together on the meeting room table). He couldn’t complete it, sadly.
So we’re waiting for what feels like two hours, with the music constantly getting changed from the wedding march to something else.
Then one time, the pastor is playing a guitar while Elvis Presley’s “Falling in love with you” song is playing… and there’s a fucking M1 Abrams Tank in the chapel!! WTF?!?! 😀 I just have to lean forward in my chair, laughing my ass off and beating my computer table on just how fucked up this is! Ohh god, I was in tears from laughing too hard.
Then FINALLY, the wedding starts. Yet from our seats, it’s the best wedding we’re not hearing. We have to get up and over to the center stage, just to hear what’s going on. A few people are talking, and others telling them to hush. Then one of them just flat out yells at the top of their lungs (while the vows were being read): “SHUT THE FUCK UP!!”
I feel like I’m about to cough one of my lungs out from laughing too hard.
On top of that, the pastor tries to get the bride to speak first.. but she’s muted! So she literally cannot say “I do”.

Then as the pastor says (while a few people are still talking) “if anyone feels these two shall not be wed–“, he suddenly stops and pulls out a fucking shotgun and says “I’LL KILL ANYONE WHO OBJECTED!!”
I’m dead. I’m so dead! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

And finally.. after so many delays (and hilarity), the two are wed (then the furries and myself head back to Best Boi lands). Best. Wedding. EVER!
Later on, we’re hanging out in The Pug (more like me in my custom Gandora model, getting drunk by myself upstairs), and then acting like I’m smashed on Twitchin’s stream. Heh. A bit embarrassing, though (especially hearing her response to it). I was not attempting to make fun of her by the way, just acting like a drunkin’ dragon.
My RPing tends to annoy people, sadly. Why I don’t do it that often.

I managed to attend the second meeting (and ‘the 3rd’) at the same time. Kibble was nearly late to attend it, and he blamed the US for daylight savings time. Due to this, he did two meetings (one at our ‘normal’ time, and the other at his normal time).

The meeting started by going outside, where Kibble was talking about drama that happened way before I joined VRChat; these ‘Space Marines’ that keep popping up.
He divided us into two sections, ones that don’t mind them, and ones that do. And he talked down to the ones that do, saying they’re in an Alliance with them, and “you will not be associated with the Best Bois” for having any grudges against them, even telling them to leave if they couldn’t tolerate them.
For my stance, I don’t know much about them (instead of seeing them around). Kibble claims they RP, a lot. I’ve never seen (nor heard) of this. That’s why I don’t mind them, being a fan of RP myself.

But from other people’s stances, they’re quite furious – as they feel the Space Marines will continue calling some of the Best Boi’s assholes, and get away with it. Again… I have never seen (nor heard) of this, though (in defense to these people), I feel Kibble could had handled this better (similar to how the MRT Server handles troublemakers).
In addition, he finally has had enough of people disrespecting others through personal attacks, and will be handing out warnings (and even bans) for repeat offenses. This is really great. I’m glad he’s going to do something about this.

The rest of the meeting was held back in the church (the meeting room), where the following news (of changes to the server) was announced;
1. The standard Best Boi model, now has three new fur colors to choose from (purple/green/yellow). I’m personally not a fan of them, but I also know it’s completely optional.
2. There’s a new (but temporary) Saint Patrick’s Day Best Boi (like the new green-furred Best Boi, but with a shamrock hat and a pot of gold stuck to its back), that’s hidden (but easy to find). It’ll be removed on Monday.
3. Temp water has been added to the beach sub-world. It has no affects, only to serve as a template.
3a. The new ‘Pirate Boi’ should come out in 1-2 weeks from now, and they will be in a boat.
4. The ‘shader’ I mentioned in the test world blog, is Kibble messing with Post Processing. A lot of people didn’t particularly like it, and he toned it down a bit (to where it’s easier on the eyes).
5. The ‘obelisk’ I mentioned in the test world blog, is part of the new world.
6. And finally, Twitchin (while trying to get intouch with Telephone), now has the rights to begin selling the first Best Boi plushie(it’ll be the White one first). It’ll stand a foot tall, and sell for 10-15$ USD (and $25 overseas(with shipping)). Though she never said it, I can only assume “all proceeds will go to Kibble, to get him to TwitchCon”. And that’s fine to he honest. I have nothing against it (now).

And that’s about it (that I can remember). There were no games after the meeting (unlike before). Also, the new world isn’t up currently. Perhaps Kibble took it down to work on the final touches, or the upload failed.
There was also no mention of the Small Boi’s this time. But I assume they would come sometime in April (or May).

The latest Astroneer update (titled simply “Update 0.6.5”) has been released today. But before I blow a gasket (as they finally fixed power nuggets not charging rovers), it’s best I go over the changes (that mainly evolve around rovers and storage capacity).

MAJOR;
-Rovers (large and medium) have been redesigned, with the large rover having six wheels (shown off by the latest SCS Vlog). In addition, the front and back bumpers now have animations, showing objects can be connected to them.
-Rover handling has been updated to be more realistic. They also fixed it where it’s less likely for your rover to tip over when using the Crane (with the Drill).
-Connecting a rover to a platform (to charge it up, or providing power to your base), is two-way again.
-A ‘mobile base’ is now more possible, with the addition of 3D printing modules directly on rovers. Note that you would need “an insane amount of power” to do it.
-Research costs related to vehicles, have been reduced (IE: the cost of the Large Rover has been reduced by 2000 research(to 6000 research)), making it slightly quicker in the player progression curve to get into rovers.
-A 3-way power splitter (shown off in the latest SCS Vlog) is now a thing. Now you can properly reroute power throughout your base.
-The ‘chevron arrow’ (of the Extender) is now made more clear, to show the direction of power.
-Power Cells (large and small) have been tweaked to be more responsive on storing (and distributing) power. In addition, the ‘infinite power’ bug is now fixed.
-New platform/storage options are available. This includes three new versions of the large platform, a brand new extra large platform, and a brand new extra large storage.
(IMPORTANT: Due to a bug (that has lasted since the initial Basebuilding Update), you’ll need to destroy/spawn (using the launch pad) a new Medium Fabricator to make the new platforms. This will go for any future updates that might add new platforms (until they’re able to pin down the issue and fix it.))

MINOR;
And finally, it used to be possible to attach more than four rovers to a rover train (in the last update). But due to physics constraints, this is no longer possible (and the limit of four rovers has been reinforced).
Here’s to hoping that one day in a future update, these constraints will be fixed and lifted (and so will the limit).

Annoyances;
-It seems the devs still feel it’s A-OK to continue forcing console-like controls on the PC version (aka holding down a button to do something). Nothing like trying to hold down E to enter my rover (while right next to the seat), only to pull out my terrain gun instead. They SERIOUSLY need to undo this bullshit.
-The ‘fixes’ to rover handling, made rover trains a lot harder to reach top speed (where I nearly feel it’s not worth making a max-sized one anymore). Especially with how fast they consume energy when underground.

Bugs I’ve found;
-Power Nuggets aren’t consumed when connected directly to a large storage unit (or even a medium storage unit connected to the large storage). It seems to only work outside of a large storage unit.
-Power coming in from generators (into the habitat), isn’t matching the same strength of going out to my base modules. Can’t say if this has been a bug since the Basebuilding Update, but this is the first time I’ve been able to see it.

This is going to be a rather short post. But before you feel I said “game”, means VRChat. No, not this time. This is a game in the game.

A typical day of Best Boi Studios, people talking about VR and other random things, coming and going.
Decided to go visit the guy who installed the dragon bunny avatar to my account, who was playing ‘Never Have I Ever’. I’ve stayed clear of this game for a pretty long time, mainly due to if it’s my turn to move the game around.
The game has to do with someone saying “Never have I ever (did this thing)”. If you didn’t do it, you don’t advance, and if you did, you do. The first one to get all the way to the end, wins (and the game resets). It’s quite simple.
However….. there are people that take this innocent game, into the dark side of the Internet, saying things like “Never have I ever *questioning your sex lifestyle here*” -or- “Never have I ever *drug-related thing here*”. It makes you feel you’re going to sell your soul to the devil if you go forward.. and I don’t like that.

But on a side-note, as I was playing, someone was commenting to the guy about my dragon bunny (and questioning why it looks unfinished). He said how there’s an issue where “the head disappears” when looking in a mirror. I added on, asking “what about the scales on the back”. And he said it affects all attachments, then adds “don’t worry, we’ll get it”.
That’s fantastic. Glad they’re working on it.

I had some fun at the start, but then the guy had to go (and I was at the mercy of random people). Most of the time, I was two (or more) lines away from the rest of the crowd. And the person giving the embarrassing phrases, comes up to me and is like “hey, did you hear me?”, I say “Yes, and I didn’t do that thing”. And when the person says he’s “got me” and does the next phrase, I’m still not moving (as I’m telling the truth).
I’ve been questioned about my age, and “never living”. Yes, of course. But please excuse me for not having a sinful childhood. 😛
And these were starting to feel like personal attacks against me (yet I hoped I could still ‘play’ (by not moving). And then when I got the directed at me phrase “Never have I ever owned a house”, again I just stood there. But I left as people were absolutely shocked at me.
If they had just reversed it (where if you didn’t, you advance), then I probably would had won.

That was enough for me. Whoever said to never play that game (due to how toxic it can get), wasn’t kidding. So for now on, if I choose to play, it’ll be with friends only in a private server (instead of with random people).

Yet another “I don’t know how to start with this” intro to a blog post. Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don’t. But I think it’s because I’m pretty bummed out right now.
Guess I got too hyped up.

Let me start from the beginning, and it’s joining something I can’t believe is even a thing.. the ‘Officer Creepys Hangout’ server (basically a ‘fan club’ for one guy I only met two & 1/2 weeks ago). Listen Creepery, you’re a great guy and a great asset to the Best Boi server, but why in the hell do you need a fan club?! Are you that young and insecure?
That’s just my thoughts, take them as you will. Plus it’s so colorful (as in, every channel has icons on the ends of the name). I’m not sure if I’m going to stay here.

Now for the ‘bummed out’ reason. This is gonna be a long one, so I hope you’re comfortable.
I managed to get someone to animate the wings (and the tail) of the Gandora model. I also got my hands on Dynamic Bones (for free, thanks to friends), which opens up potential for ‘wiggly’ avatars.
But as much as I really, really do appreciate it… it’s not ‘me’ (me as in, the gif image 2D avatar). And I managed to fix the issue that people couldn’t see it (by reapplying the textures and uploading). Now everyone can see it (in hopes for someone to walk up to me and say “hey, I could make that into a 3D model for free”). But like I said before, I seriously doubt that would ever happen.
And this got me thinking of those Best Bunny avatars (and how you can make a request for a personal Best Bunny). Killing two birds with one stone, my request was (nearly) fully pulled off of having a ‘dragon bunny’.
All I had to do to get my hands on it, was to give the guy my VRChat Account password (for them to upload it into my account(I assume through Unity)) and then change it afterwards. Felt uncomfortable doing this, but he was able to get it done without a problem.
Now I really wish the horns, the wings, and the spikes on the back were attached. When asked why, I was originally told that any attachment to the bunny model, is having some pretty bad issues when looking in a mirror. Then I was told how it would be next to impossible to attach the horns (as there are no known models that they could rip them from). I would assume the spikes would be the same issue. Honestly, they look like a bull’s horns. They could had used them (and just re-textured them to look like what the original picture has).
I’m pretty bummed out over that, and I probably sound highly immature (and that I’m not appreciating the hard work that went into the texturing). Ohh.. no no no. I definitely do thank them, from the bottom of my heart, of going out of their way to do it. They didn’t have to do this for me, yet they did. And I can’t thank them enough! I’m freakin’ serious.
The face alone, probably took the most time to do (basing it off of a 2D image). And I just love how spot on it looks. They even captured the eyes! 😀
I really love it, yet I also hope they’re able to one day figure out why Unity is doing what is doing (and complete the model). Because I’ve gotten comments that it looks more like a snake than a dragon (I assume with the forked tongue).

And finally, someone noticed a new Best Boi test server when logging in this afternoon (yet kept changing the subject of people wanting pictures of the changes. I quickly hopped on and saw it (and did pics).
1. There’s an obelisk, thanking several ‘notable people’ of the server. I didn’t see Creepery’s name on that list, sadly.
2. A new structure with a portal (leading to a place to get more furry(and even scalie) avatars), next to the Best Bunnies portal.
3. The promotions of Twitchin’s twitch channel, and the Best Boi Discord link, are gone.
4. There’s some sort of new shader that I assume Kibble is playing around with. It’s making areas darker.

And that’s about it. If anything new comes up, I shall post it.
