PS4! New Games! Let’s DO this!

OK, old games. But I’m back doing reviews for PS4 games! Yay! Turns out I’ve only used a quarter of my 500GB hard drive. So I have plenty, and had plenty that I could had done last month’s PS+ games.
Ehh, whatever. It’s a new month, and I’m going to be reviewing the following games in the coming days;

Driveclub: Playstation Plus Edition (July PS+ free game)
Rocket League (July PS+ free game)
Styx: Master of Shadows (July PS+ free game)

And a bonus game, that I actually bought outside of the Playstation Store;
Killzone: Shadow Fall

Currently downloading the PS+ free games as I speak. As I said up there, reviews will be coming soonish.

Gearbox wants to do another Duke Nukem game… really?

Hahah… ohh boy. I could go anywhere with this post. So, this thing started trending on Twitter that Gearbox ‘wants another Duke Nukem game’. They’re even trying to find a new development team to do it and have even made concept art for those “lucky” devs that decide to do it. .. Ahah.. good luck to them.

Seriously, wasn’t Duke Nukem Forever an embarrassment enough to Gearbox? Personally, I liked the game. Didn’t love it, just liked. It’s almost if they’re trying to say to the gaming public: “Yeah, yeah… Duke Nukem Forever sucked. But we’re not done with Duke! We can make him better! Stronger! Even more full of himself! And we know JUST how to do it! We’ll find another development team to make the new game!! *insane publisher moment here*”

Gearbox’s CEO states how this “new Duke” would be “3 to 4 times more popular than the Borderlands franchise”…
3 to 4 times more famous than the Borderlands franchise, huh? Unlikely. Duke’s legacy is just that; a legacy. He doesn’t need to become FrankenDuke for us to like him again. That ship has sailed (and crashed into an iceburg).

This would be one of those “I’ll believe it when I see it” moments in gaming. In ways, I would actually like to see what whoever takes the job, actually uses technology that gamers demand.

Patch 6.2… the final WoD content update? Discussion

Another possible “brilliant” idea from Blizzard. I actually debated if it was even worth my time to do this post, as I’m pretty much done with WoW. But I forced myself to do it.
There’s several articles that were made last week, that it’s possible that Patch 6.2 is IT for WoD. I’m a bit pissed, but mostly.. not surprised. Why can’t they just fucking say during 2015’s BlizzCon; “Guys, no more patches for Warlords of Draenor! We made the game crap and we’re not fixing it! Please keep giving us your money like the good idiots you are!” Because they’re not that stupid.

Now, this is not, repeat, NOT to say this is official in any form. It’s just to state that one of Blizzard’s lead devs, keeps dodging the question of “are we going to see more content in WoD’s future?” His only answer is Patch 6.2.X, for us to eventually be able to fly (after we work like the slaves we are).

.
But let’s say that it is official, and Patch 6.2 is the final content patch for WoD. Meaning.. they’ll be saying WoD is ‘done’ to them, and they’re ready to move to the next expansion. I can’t wait to see 2015’s BlizzCon, and watch as most of the audience is armed with various fruit and vegetables, ready to utilize them when the new expansion gets released.
This is when I will be cheering. Yet, I will also be sad. Sad that we can’t trust this once talented company to do their jobs right. They will likely be boo’d off the stage.
But overall, I just want Blizzard to be honest and say “Look, some of these things we mention will likely not be in the actual game upon launch, but in sequential patches.” and actually mean it. No more hype. No more broken promises. Just be honest with us. All we really ask of you, Blizzard. That’s the only way we will ever trust you again.

In other news (yet related to the discussion), I got to see the ending climatic of the Hellfire Citadel raid. Apparently it was originally in Spanish, which is odd. It’s been translated to English and I saw it. The first bit where Gul’dan summons Archamonde was pretty cool, I’ll admit. But the rest… I would say fell on its face.
Gul’dan gets sent to the Twisting Nether by Archamonde (saying “You signed a pact” before throwing him in), then he “dies”(he can’t be killed outside of the Twisting Nether)… Grom’s there being.. the good guy that I actually feared would happen in one of my earlier discussions. Khadgar is unsure Gul’dan is gone, and Yrel is all “We will help you if he comes back”.
Now where I mentioned how this is related, is Khadgar believing Gul’dan will come back even stronger. If 6.2 is the final patch, then why would they have this? Is it just more cut content like every fucking else?
And why in the FUCK is Grom Hellscream, the main reason we were forced to go to Draenor, being all “Draenor IS FREE!! MUCH REJOICE!!” instead of his head being fucking lopped off?! Personally, I would do it and be all “THIS IS WHAT I THINK OF YOUR SHIT ORCISH EXPANSION!!!!” before lopping his head off, then I would kill Khadgar for not letting us leave Draenor.

.
If 6.2 is going to be the final patch for WoD until the next expansion, which has never been done in WoW’s history…, you can bet more and more people who used to be loyal to Blizzard are going to leave in frustration.
That… and the game will probably ‘die’. And as Heelz said in his ‘Emergency AZ #5’ video, how it “breaks his heart”? It breaks mine as well, because of what WoW used to be. And no one really knows who to blame. Some say it was Activision that slowly (and painfully) was killing the game since Cata. Others just blame Blizzard as a whole.

It still blows my mind. What… HAPPENED up there in Irvine, California?! What the fuck made them change?! Was it the constant whining of their childish fanbase (and they snapped(which was my original idea))?
Was it because Ghostcrawler left?
Or,… was it Activision telling Blizzard, that they’re going to do things the Activision way for now on (and literally doom the franchise)? All because of money. It’s sad, it really is. We gave them money to not only pay for our subscriptions, but to help make the game better. Why… why are they doing this? Why? Why can’t they answer these questions?!
Yet they probably will, but with more double-talk. They say they listen, yet they don’t. They say they’ll do something about how boring it is to get Apexis Crystals.. but they won’t. Infact they’ll just make it worse.
I guess I just keep grasping at those last straws of hope, trying to reach Blizzard before they all disappear. And they keep pushing me away. Is it something I’m just going to have to deal with, that they just will not change…ever? Is there just no hope whatsoever? The way it looks like currently… no, there’s no hope.

What makes these once well-respected companies that responded to the feedback of their playerbase, that treated their players like the human beings we should be treated as…, to have their support doors close and swim in the cash that we gave them to make the game better (with Activision smiling at them)? Why must greed be a thing? I just don’t get it.
Or was it something more… sinister, like that little bird in your Garrison named Pepe?.. THAT’S IT!! Pepe works for Activision!! He fucking brainwashes you to accept any and all bullshit in WoD! Illuminati confirmed! I knew I couldn’t trust that bird!

ProMods VS TSM.. what I think (email request)

Got a rather interesting email today, asking if I ever had considered making a post comparing ProMods to TSM. My initial reaction was “Not really”. So I decided to do it.

ProMods -VS- TSM…
Now at first glance, both of these mod pack ‘giants’ are good in their own way. One does it better than the other, and one does it worse than the other. Having played both, this is what I feel are good (and bad) points to both of these.

ProMods;
-Is updated more frequently than TSM.
-Has more realistic cities than TSM.
-Covers quite a lot of land, yet lacking in some areas it really needs it.
-Is fully compatible with a few other map mods, unlike TSM which is compatible with nothing but itself.
-Uses an English-speaking forum, unlike TSM’s German-speaking forum.

TSM (TruckSimMap)
-Covers areas ProMods isn’t (such as Egypt, Africa, Greece, and Spain).
-Doesn’t require you to only specifically download from its website, or warn of prison time if it’s shared on other sites.
-Doesn’t require any of the paid DLCs (however, this is likely to change in the future).

.
And my final verdict…? ProMods is better, as there’s more work put into it. It even has fucking Iceland now! TSM has a lot of areas that haven’t been updated since … what was it, the 1.14 update when I turned to ProMods? I think so. There’s even a pretty long (yet quite curvy) stretch of road in Libya, where you can go an insane 124 MPH (cars only, though). Who the fuck needs the Autobahn with that speed?!

If ProMods and TSM were to come together (without fists swinging) as one map, I’m sure ETS2 would be even more awesome to drive around in. To have those two, plus Poland Rebuilding… it would be beautiful.
But I really never see that day ever coming. I don’t know why there’s just so much… hate over the two. If they would just join forces, with TSM learning from ProMods and actually doing some good work, it would be great.

If you guys know, email me. Do keep them coming, by the way! This was fun.

And here I thought it was bad already.. ProMods requires paid DLC

Having not played for many months(almost a year), I think it did something to every single one of my saves. As they refuse to work (aka crashing).
So yeah. All the effort and work I put into it is now useless. Ain’t that just great? So I filed in a report, gathering what info was required. I personally feel that the current version of ProMods isn’t compatible with the latest version of Euro Truck Simulator 2. Because without the mod, the game loaded (just dropped me back at my base). So clearly there is nothing wrong with my save files.

Got a response about 10 minutes later. First one says that I’m right that everything checks out. The second, saw a flaw. And that “flaw” was human error, as in.. failure to read the ‘new requirements’ for the mod.
It now requires a nearly $20 DLC ($18.98 total) to run, called the Scandinavian DLC… at first I thought “Wow… you greedy bastards”, yet I also forgot what I had said about ProMods; how they’re not affiliated with SCS. As in, they aren’t exactly forcing you to get the DLC. It just.. OK, it is forcing. 😛 It’s forcing me to pay for something to play a free map mod that never required said DLC before.
Sounds pathetic, doesn’t it? “Pathetic” as in my attitude. Ohh how that entitlement flows, and washes away thoughts of how hard the authors made all of the map work. But the thing is, I wouldn’t force the user to buy a DLC to play my map. I would understand if people couldn’t afford $20.
Whatever… it’s done and whoever has my money now. And indeed it definitely required the DLC, as I got no crash upon loading a save. Meh.. at least the reviews for the DLC were positive (which is why I got it).

.
EDIT: Just a ‘small’ update. Got a 3rd response saying that there was a way that I could had avoided paying for the DLC, which was to get the 1.91 version. He says that “1.91 is like 1.95, but without requiring the Scandinavian DLC”. Good to hear and see there’s a ‘free’ option.
He also mentions that in the future version 2.0 of ProMods, that it will require this DLC, and the ‘Going East!’ one(that I got a year ago). Thankfully I have both, so this won’t be an issue for me.

I wish though, when I was setting up trying to get the mod, that it said on the website; “Requires Scandinavian DLC”, instead of myself thinking there was something critically wrong with my saves. I was thinking how I would have to go through all of that effort all over again to level up my driver (and have the same money I had before). Thankfully that wasn’t the case.
I would had been sick to my stomach.

American Truck Simulator to… possibly be released on my birthday?!

12:20am, nothing (I want) to do. Watching Youtube videos. See one from Squirrel of him going over a mod for OMSI 2 that features Chicago. Looks pretty good, but that game is still barely worked on. If it was more developed, I would give it a go.
Saw Squirrel’s ‘old’ Promods video of 1.9. Thought of getting back into Euro Truck Simulator 2.
So I got the files, but I forgot what he said to do to backup your game files. So I checked the description, nothing there. Happened to glance down through the comments section of seeing of someone’s asking how to backup.
Nothing there. But I did see someone claim that “American Truck Simulator 2 will be released on August 20th 2015” He thinks, and claims he saw it on some publishing website. Another person said the same thing, with others questioning where he heard it. Someone said that it’s not possible as SCS never confirmed it.

But that would be so cool for it to pop up on my 38th birthday. All I can hope is it’s not shit like WoD, or even the 18 Wheels of Steel series. If it’s not, I will buy it for its full asking price. Just hope it covers all 50 states (and most major interstates), and even have my hometown would be freakin’ awesome. I want them to really do their homework.
No having I-80 as a highway. 😛

FaceRig – A furry’s wet dream (about Dan’s video)

I haven’t been playing Guild Wars 2 in awhile, ever since being a bit disgusted how I geared Beniee up. I kind of know how to fix it by writing down what pieces that need to be improved, but I’m too lazy to do it. 😛
Oh, also.. I discovered that the soundtrack is on Youtube. Very happy for this. Though said soundtrack has been on Youtube for as long as the game has existed(2012). Found the cool music that plays during the 3rd part of the airship in the final Level 80 Personal Story (the dragon attacks). Also found the ending music (titled ‘Fear Not This Night’). Such a lovely song, after what you’ve been through.

In other news(and the point of this post), the day before yesterday (the 4th), I decided to re-add Dan to my Twitter feed. From what I’ve seen, he’s stopped rambling about losing money and more about discussing gaming (and other weird things he says). He mentioned that he worked on something that took a long time, and wanted us to give him lots of likes for it.
It showed up yesterday, and I was not prepared for what I saw. It started off like any normal video (with the Nerd3 logo), then for about 30 minutes…. it had him doing “voiceovers” for several strange characters. We’re talking a red Panda, a Cat, a wolf in a trenchcoat, a dragon(yes, even that), and even Satan.

For the entire video, it was basically himself being as random as can be, talking about a pletheora of topics. The cutest one was when he was a Cat, and talking about the whole Cats VS Dogs thing. And at the end, his ‘advice’ was.. “don’t be a dog”. lol

I could not stop going “WHAT THE SHIT?!?!?” when watching. But at the end, it was… beautiful! Best. video. EVER!!
So what is ‘FaceRig’? First off, it’s not a game, it’s an application. I don’t have it, but you basically get to use your webcam (if you had one) to say things. And you can use these characters to say them back. And it is very life-like. If you blink, they will. If you wave your hands, they will. What you do, they will do. It’s very cute, and it’s only $20.
However, I don’t see it being worth the price on getting a webcam that I’ll never use for anything else. Still, really cool concept. I just wanted to say this with you guys.

Road to 80 completed, Zhaitan’s dead (again)

I have completed my Necro Charr’s road to Level 80. Used the Tomes of Knowledge and did the Level 80 Personal Story. Also completed the soloable version of the ‘City of Arah’ dungeon.
The ‘dungeon’ is indeed soloable, but three of the fights were quite hard (but not impossible). Not as many mobs as I remember (no Elite mobs at the start and the first door can be passed by), yet the mechanics were the same and I had to re-remember what I’ve learned from my first dungeon run. When getting on the airship, it was literally me soloing just about everything (with the help of my minions), including the three dragon encounters (which were quite wild).
As for dealing with two of Zhaitan’s dragon champions (which aren’t called that anymore) at the same time, I mainly focused on one to kill him and bring down the other (while also having to deal with the occasional Risen that show up). They seemed to have their health nerfed, as they dropped within 2-4 attempts to attack with me spamming the fire key (and of course using the shield).

The three hard parts were three of the bosses. First one was the 2nd boss (the ‘Champion Bloated Creeper’). He kept killing my minions and making it hard for me to focus on killing the grubs first.
The second was the 4th boss (the ‘Mouth of Zhaitan’). Kept attacking and forgetting to press E on the flaming boulders, and throwing them at him during his Vortex attack. He too was killing my minions and coming after me. Running away when he manages to kill them, and trying to spawn them again and keeping up the pressure, eventually killed him (and the other guy).

And the 3rd… Zhaitan himself (the second part with the cannons to kill him). He was throwing everything he had at me, and it was really intense. I had AoE attacks, his minions, and these Tentacles of Zhaitan (which looked like a dragon’s head) to deal with.
Several times, my health nearly dropped to 0 due to how much was going on. Yet I was never downed (and through the entire instance as well), thanks to the changes I made to my char prior to starting the Level 80 PS (having my Shroud kick on before I’m downed to regen some of my health). That was a well-required trait for these fights, and I’m glad I picked it.
Eventually, I managed to bring down the bastard. It felt GOOD, knowing it was ME who did the killing blow, and not by NPCs or 4 other players.
There were a few other times it got hairy, such as the start of the second boss with the endless waves of Risen Grubs. It took a bit to remember I needed to destroy the Orrian pillars to stop the spawning.

So I’m celebrating back at Fort Trinity, especially seeing Mini Tybalt there. I went through the jaws of the beast, killing so many Risen I lost count. And it’s done, and now I can celebrate. I even got a special class-specific helmet after defeating him, and it looks good as a Necro.

The entire thing was definitely based on what I have learned as my class (to test my skills), and I think I did great given the circumstances of screwing up time to time. Of course, now that I know the boss mechanics, I should screw up a lot less when it’s time for another one of my chars to do it. Very glad to be able to do the entire thing on my own (aka, not with other players). I’m glad I only had to worry about myself and my minions.

.
So what now, as I wait for the expansion? I could go with that Asura Thief (even though I haven’t thought of a good name for him). Though I have also thought of trying to get 100% World Completion (eg: every POI/Vista/Waypoint/Heart Quest in Tyria) on Beniee. Get him “out of retirement” for awhile, and get my Necro Char into it as he deserves it. He has 47% already done. Need to get that remaining 62%. I’m probably going to do that.
But first, I need to figure out how to remove un-wanted dyes from armor. Because I was playing around with them and made 1/4 of my gear in a red color, and it doesn’t really look good. :/

.
EDIT: I’m appalled. Found out my ‘main’, aka Beniee, is actually lesser geared than my Necro is! How in the HELL did I down Zhaitan with this?! Some of his accessories.. are barely Level 30! I.. WOW. And here I was worried about my Necro being able to kill Zhaitan. I actually did a better job with him than my Ranger.

Of course, this was my first char. I didn’t know anything about the game back then. But now, I… I don’t know if it’s even worth having him active, as it’s going to be hard to find better gear for him. But I’m going to have to, to prep him for the expansion.

Yet another “closer to Level 80” GW2 post

My Necro Charr is now Level 74, resting in the Black Citadel after doing every Personal Story quest chain from Level 40 to 60. Doing the Vigil quests was somewhat different. During the phased story parts, it showed the past Lion’s Arch before the rebuild.
I got stuck with a Norn named ‘Warmaster Forgal Kernsson’. I don’t like him. He’s a real hardass (yet would make a fine Charr). He does somewhat loosen up as you eventually rank up to Warmaster, to the point he tells you he lost his wife and daughter to the dragons, which is why he’s so rough around the edges.

Yet watching him sacrifice himself, so I and the rest could escape to Lion’s Arch? I really had no sorrow. He’s just not like Tybalt was. He wasn’t funny. He wasn’t a cowardly ex-Iron Legion soldier who sold apples that got courage from watching me fight. He just… wasn’t like Tybalt. I dunno.
But at least, I can finally keep Tybalt’s memory alive as a Minature. Had just over what I needed to get one from the Trading Post, and he’s been accompanying me on my road to Level 80 eversince. It’s so awesome to have this; to see his face again. Makes me very happy.

.
Anyway, I’m having my doubts that I can defeat the end-PS dragon of my Level 80 Personal Story. I’m surprised I actually got this far. It’s just, my DPS is still questionable no matter how many times I upgrade my gear. I keep getting good pieces, and I’ve been trying my damnest to make sure everything has Power in it. But I just feel I can’t kill quickly. And with this, I’ll just be slowing down everyone else and be ‘carried’ through the dungeon.
I hope this is what I went though as Beniee, when he did his first run in that dungeon. Granted, I was familiar with the whole Ranger class. Being a Necromancer is different. Making sure I don’t accidentally pull aggro off the Warriors or whatever when I do my AoE attacks. Maybe I’m just underestimating myself, and it’ll work out at the end.

Well, I need to get down to where Trahearne is with the Pact, and fight my way there. And also, if I ever do decide to make a 3rd char, I think it’s going to be an Asura Thief.

.
EDIT: I’m now 77. I got three Tombs of Knowledge to get me to Level 80 if I really wanted to. Part of the Level 70 Personal Story questline was different. Was in charge of leading a group through Risen-infested lands. Then when we get there, I was overseeing the bombardment of Risen… only for them to be Pact members. So now I’m being blamed for a mistake I could’ve sworn they were Risen. Obviously something’s going on here.
Have an option to look into this, or save this group in the volcano to make it up to them. I chose to save. Turned out to be a trap. Obviously, we got a Orrian spy trying to make me look bad. After the battle of Fort Trinity (which we won), Trahearne and I went to confront this ‘Charr’ who turned out to be a Orrian Messmer. Killed and now people respect me again, as they should.

So, as I said earlier, I could ‘cheat’ my way to Level 80 or work for it. Either way…, I dunno if I want to get to 80. I’m going to be bored again. But I think the main problem with my Necro (which I feel will doom it if I try to do that dungeon with four other people) is there isn’t that many self-useful traits and abilities. It truly feels the Necro is mainly used for Dungeons and WvW, and not soloing.
Keep looking for something that will bump up my DPS, yet all I see is either “helps allies” or “buffs allies”, being my only options. There’s also these “hurt yourself to hurt your enemy” ones that I’m avoiding.
Seriously, where are the “increases your Power” or “Makes your minions hit harder” options? Are they all in the Blood Magic tree and that’s it? I like putting more DPS in my pets than myself, as they’re the ones defending my ass.

.
Personally, I feel if you managed to kill Zhaitan(for good) as any one of your characters, then all the chars of your account don’t have to as he is dead.
Though of course, I don’t even HAVE to do the dungeon part of my Level 80 Story questline. I can just do the soloable parts and then say I killed Zhaitan. I killed him as Beniee, he’s dead now. Let’s leave it at that.
But say the devs actually did make it like this. How would that affect the Personal Story? It would screw it up. There would be no point of making the Pact of the three groups of defenders (of their own way) to stop the Elder Dragons, except for dealing with Mordemmoth and his minions of the expansion.

Overall, it does feel weird doing the same exact questline I did with Beniee, as my Necro Charr. Though there are differences of what organization I went to this time (and there will be again when I ever make my 3rd char. Have him join the Priory).

.
EDIT2: Made a thread asking why the ‘Hide Personal Story’ option in the Content Guide thing, wasn’t working. Basically, was thinking of hitting 80, just not doing the dungeon and not being annoyed by it telling me to go there. See, I’ve seen that message since I started trying to get to 80 without doing the Personal Story questlines.
Waited a good half an hour for a response. Someone eventually did, telling me that it’s OK how I don’t wish to do it, then mentioned the dungeon “just changed a week ago to become a solo instance” A… A SOLO INSTANCE?! WAIT WHAT?!?! HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME!! 😀
Praise the gods that it’s no longer forced group content! It’s good they finally listened to their players and saw how stupid and unfair it was to have the Level 80 PS questline be gated behind group content. Seriously, if I wanted to do a dungeon, I’d LFG. I wanted to defeat Zhaitan with the Pact, instead of four other players. It just seemed weird having this mechanic in a “personal” (aka soloable) story. And now, I CAN!!! 😀 I am so fucking happy. Now there’s a point (in my favor) to get to 80!

Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Off on Yet another “closer to Level 80” GW2 post

Closer and closer to my second GW2 Level 80

My Necro Charr is now Level 58. Currently resting in an Ogre camp called ‘Ebbing Heart Run’, in the Iron Marches. Haven’t done one Personal Story quest yet, yet I’m starting to fear by not doing so, I’m not optimizing my char. Aka, doing a leveled Story mission, grants that specific level’s rewards. Aka, gear or other stuff.

Also, feeling like I’m not DPSing as hard as I want with a Dagger/Warhorn combo, I went back to using a Staff. For the most of it, that was actually a good choice as it’s getting more risky to damage a mob (as it should).
Got a pretty good staff, though; using Karma points from a “quest giver” in the mentioned zone in the fist paragraph. Has 107 Power on it, which is excellent. Power helps with DPS. It also has Condition Damage, making my DOTs hurt more and give a Crit chance. I feel stronger already. So, screw the PS rewards.

I got to see what dragon corruption in Guild Wars 2 looks like, with three dragons. First, Jormag’s with his corrupted ice. Got a taste of the upcoming expansion with Mordremoth’s corruption (these spiky vines). And now, the corruption of (this is a mouthful) Kalatr– Krack– Kralac–…Kralkatorrik! That’s it!(I looked it up on the Wiki :P) Anyway, his corruption is pretty major. He’s the one that can turn creatures into his minions (called the Branded. They’re like the Darkspawn in the Dragon Age series). And the land he flew over is dark and quite eerie. Trees have folded over, and there’s Branded everywhere. It’s like the Ruins of Orr, except this isn’t Level 70. Plus as I said, you truly see what the land was before it got corrupted and twisted.

The sub-zone (there’s two sections of this, similar to that thing in WoW in the Ghostlands, and the Blood Elf start zone). Anyway, it reminded me of the Corruption in Terraria (minus the Soul Eaters and the worms). Been playing the music in Google Play on a loop. Though it seems the music from the Crimson sounds a lot better for that sub-zone.

There’s even one area, where if you’re fighting in the middle of the corrupted zone, an enormous shadow goes over you. If you look up real quick, you’ll see a dragon. Going by the size, this isn’t the Elder Dragon; but one of his high ranking dragons. He’s called ‘The Shatterer’. That’s it. Weird name for a dragon. You can even battle him at the top of the zone (of course, he’s not soloable by any possible meaning).

.
Anyway, switching sub-topics and moving away from the corruption (literally). There was a time in this one snowy zone (Snowden Cliffs I think?) where it just felt I was all alone, and was in unfamiliar lands. I really loved that feeling. It was just me, and my minions. Doing this one quest.
I go running over preparing to engage these two mobs… suddenly I see the loading screen of the map and get teleported back, showing people around me now. I… I was pissed. I’ve gotten over it, though. But at the time…I was just so upset.
See, the game never warned me that the zone would close due to very few players. It’s almost as if I heard “Uhh.. you did remember this is an MMORPG, yes? You’re supposed to have compet– I mean be with other people!” come from it.
It took me a good 10 minutes to calm down after it. That and entering another solo situation where I felt I was on my own.
I don’t know what is up with me and why I like being on my own in MMORPGs. I guess, it feels like freedom. Having the whole zone to myself, and not having competition to complete the heart quests. Even though, questing isn’t AS bad as it is with WoW where there is kill stealing. You still get XP if you help another person kill a mob (as if you killed it by yourself). Doesn’t really encourage grouping, just cooperation.

Still, I really don’t like that ‘We’re closing this instance as there’s hardly any people playing’ thing. When I tell it “No, I want to stay!”, it fucking forces me to switch. And then has the nerve to pop up an “Are you sure?” option when I get to a point when I will allow it. Seriously.. “Are you sure?” You’re fucking trying to shove it down my throat (and it’s choking me), only to say that when I allow you?!
Then again, this could also be the default “Are you sure?” message when leaving an instanced area. If so (and it probably is), then… why couldn’t they do something else that doesn’t ….. do that? Just, click on the icon, and woosh. That’s it. No messages, just..do it.

I do wish that transition was more streamlined. Instead of kicking you to another instance, how about just allowing other people to join instead of keep instances? Because this (and the Gems) are reasons why they don’t charge you monthly fees.
Oh, I also ‘ran’ into fish (more like he just PM’d me). It was pretty short. Asked him if he was considering getting the $100 option of the expansion, he says he hasn’t decided.
Said “If you’re sane, you wouldn’t. I wouldn’t. They’re asking too much.” He didn’t say anything else.
