Closer and closer to my second GW2 Level 80

My Necro Charr is now Level 58. Currently resting in an Ogre camp called ‘Ebbing Heart Run’, in the Iron Marches. Haven’t done one Personal Story quest yet, yet I’m starting to fear by not doing so, I’m not optimizing my char. Aka, doing a leveled Story mission, grants that specific level’s rewards. Aka, gear or other stuff.

Also, feeling like I’m not DPSing as hard as I want with a Dagger/Warhorn combo, I went back to using a Staff. For the most of it, that was actually a good choice as it’s getting more risky to damage a mob (as it should).
Got a pretty good staff, though; using Karma points from a “quest giver” in the mentioned zone in the fist paragraph. Has 107 Power on it, which is excellent. Power helps with DPS. It also has Condition Damage, making my DOTs hurt more and give a Crit chance. I feel stronger already. So, screw the PS rewards.

I got to see what dragon corruption in Guild Wars 2 looks like, with three dragons. First, Jormag’s with his corrupted ice. Got a taste of the upcoming expansion with Mordremoth’s corruption (these spiky vines). And now, the corruption of (this is a mouthful) Kalatr– Krack– Kralac–…Kralkatorrik! That’s it!(I looked it up on the Wiki :P) Anyway, his corruption is pretty major. He’s the one that can turn creatures into his minions (called the Branded. They’re like the Darkspawn in the Dragon Age series). And the land he flew over is dark and quite eerie. Trees have folded over, and there’s Branded everywhere. It’s like the Ruins of Orr, except this isn’t Level 70. Plus as I said, you truly see what the land was before it got corrupted and twisted.

The sub-zone (there’s two sections of this, similar to that thing in WoW in the Ghostlands, and the Blood Elf start zone). Anyway, it reminded me of the Corruption in Terraria (minus the Soul Eaters and the worms). Been playing the music in Google Play on a loop. Though it seems the music from the Crimson sounds a lot better for that sub-zone.

There’s even one area, where if you’re fighting in the middle of the corrupted zone, an enormous shadow goes over you. If you look up real quick, you’ll see a dragon. Going by the size, this isn’t the Elder Dragon; but one of his high ranking dragons. He’s called ‘The Shatterer’. That’s it. Weird name for a dragon. You can even battle him at the top of the zone (of course, he’s not soloable by any possible meaning).

.
Anyway, switching sub-topics and moving away from the corruption (literally). There was a time in this one snowy zone (Snowden Cliffs I think?) where it just felt I was all alone, and was in unfamiliar lands. I really loved that feeling. It was just me, and my minions. Doing this one quest.
I go running over preparing to engage these two mobs… suddenly I see the loading screen of the map and get teleported back, showing people around me now. I… I was pissed. I’ve gotten over it, though. But at the time…I was just so upset.
See, the game never warned me that the zone would close due to very few players. It’s almost as if I heard “Uhh.. you did remember this is an MMORPG, yes? You’re supposed to have compet– I mean be with other people!” come from it.
It took me a good 10 minutes to calm down after it. That and entering another solo situation where I felt I was on my own.
I don’t know what is up with me and why I like being on my own in MMORPGs. I guess, it feels like freedom. Having the whole zone to myself, and not having competition to complete the heart quests. Even though, questing isn’t AS bad as it is with WoW where there is kill stealing. You still get XP if you help another person kill a mob (as if you killed it by yourself). Doesn’t really encourage grouping, just cooperation.

Still, I really don’t like that ‘We’re closing this instance as there’s hardly any people playing’ thing. When I tell it “No, I want to stay!”, it fucking forces me to switch. And then has the nerve to pop up an “Are you sure?” option when I get to a point when I will allow it. Seriously.. “Are you sure?” You’re fucking trying to shove it down my throat (and it’s choking me), only to say that when I allow you?!
Then again, this could also be the default “Are you sure?” message when leaving an instanced area. If so (and it probably is), then… why couldn’t they do something else that doesn’t ….. do that? Just, click on the icon, and woosh. That’s it. No messages, just..do it.

I do wish that transition was more streamlined. Instead of kicking you to another instance, how about just allowing other people to join instead of keep instances? Because this (and the Gems) are reasons why they don’t charge you monthly fees.
Oh, I also ‘ran’ into fish (more like he just PM’d me). It was pretty short. Asked him if he was considering getting the $100 option of the expansion, he says he hasn’t decided.
Said “If you’re sane, you wouldn’t. I wouldn’t. They’re asking too much.” He didn’t say anything else.
