So Virtual-Ninja had indirectly convinced me that Blade & Sorcery is worth
the $20 (mainly because it’s not room-scale only). However, the base game by itself isn’t really worth that price (more like $10). Let’s just say it’s quite brutal to enjoy when stuck in such a confined space for VR, but… the controls feel better than GORN (allowing myself to fully turn around). The fact it allows you to do your own stance and combat style, based on weight of the weapon and how its gripped in your hand, it feels quite intuitive (once you get the hang of it).
Oh, and you can dual weld swords; use one as a ‘shield-breaker’, and the other to stab them in the neck, stomach, or the heart. But possibly the most satisfying is being able to stab them in such a way where they go through your sword, and you can lob them over your shoulder.

And then, there’s mod support (which makes the game worth it). But how it comes to you is very questionable (at least to me); they use the Mod Nexus.. something I haven’t used since I played Skyrim (years ago). And instead of capping your download speed to 1MB/s for certain downloads.. it affects ALL downloads.
Why not just use the Steam Workshop, where the download speed is based off of your ISP? I guess Steam handles things differently, and the dev(s) feel the Mod Nexus awards mod creators a lot better.
But if you have the game, there are several mods I personally, highly recommend;
Bone Holsters: Select the new spell, then you can attach weapons to your hands, head, or wherever you want. A fun ‘fuck with’ mod.
KatanaMegapack: They slice, they dice, and they look so nice (when coated in the blood of your enemies).
Medieval Mega Pack: Unleash your inner dragon warrior with 90 weapons from that time. Enemies can also use these, so be careful.
Drag’s Infinite and Instant Slow Motion: Tired of your mana dropping to 0 when lining up a perfect attack? Fuck it then, have the slow time last forever! Hear those satisfying screams of your enemies in slow motion, as they fall to their doom.
Dark Chains: Another fun ‘fuck with’ mod with the ability to pull your enemy over to you. Act like Vader and choke them to death, YEET them away, or hang them up like a Christmas Tree (while using them as a practice dummy).

‘Minehut’ offering free dedicated servers for Minecraft
A game I haven’t talked about for awhile (since 2018). Kovo and his friends have been playing it for awhile, and now Kovo brings up this ‘Minehut’ service; claiming they will host a server for you and your friends.. for free.
This of course raises up a lot of questions (with their answers);
-How is it ‘free’? What’s the catch? (You can have 10 people on one server. Every
day, depending on how active the server is, you will receive ‘credits’ (up to 50/day). You can turn these credits in for more space (when needed).
-Mod / FTB Modpack support? (Mod support, yes (claiming it has ‘one-click install of over 300’ mods. Unknown if there’s FTB Modpack support)
-DDoS Protection? (Yes. Claims it has ‘Enterprise-level DDoS Protection’)
-Disk space? (Unknown)
-Easy to set up? (Yes, Kovo linked a video)
-Full control over the server (local save location, uploading, backup storage, ranks, moderation)? (See this, for ranks. Assume it also covers Moderation. It is unknown if the others I listed can be controlled)

Sounds very tempting. If I find out you can throw on a full-sized FTB modpack.. I might use one of these as my own personal dedicated server (playing AoE(Age of Engineering). Think about it. Everything I do in my save would be on their server instead of my computer = more framerate for me. Even though my computer is much better than it was when I last played Modded Minecraft.

Oh, and one thing not listed here, there is a timeout thing that temporarily pauses the server if no-one’s been playing on it after an extended period of time, but it will allow you to reactivate it. ..And even this has its own set of questions;
-What is this extended period of time? A day? A week? A month?
-Will the deactivation happen if it’s just you playing (aka does it expect you’re doing this for your friends)?
-What do you need to activate it (of any kind of currency)? Pretty sure it’s actually going to cost you something if it keeps happening.
-Is thereΒ  a ticker that counts everytime it goes down and eventually closes the server completely when it reaches a set threshold of inactivity and/or number of times of no use?

Hopefully all of these questions finally get answered, because this is really promising, and would give me an excuse to get back into the blocky world of Minecraft.

I dunno how to start this one. Jero doesn’t even know about this, as I want to keep it a secret from him until the time is right.. where I could kill two love drama issues with one stone (this and how I would like Fluffy to be like him).
There’s just something about him; the way he walks, the way he talks.. just makes my heart flutter, as if I truly met ‘the one’.
Essentially, he makes me feel like this;

Yet why oh why did it go so wrong with the doubts?! Though he has answered all of my questions and I’m forced to move on (how he has a BF now), I still can’t get him off my mind. And I just wonder at times if he feels the same about me, yet is too scared to come up and express them.
I was hoping to get Fluffy to ‘replace’ him.. but instead of doing that, he indirectly gave me an idea to want this. I don’t know why it took until now for the idea to suddenly pop in my head.

Asked Kat early yesterday morning for the model and was given the green light (but she was at work and asked me to let her know later). That later time came when I noticed her on around 7:30pm, but didn’t respond to me until 9:15pm (when I was playing Raft with Kovo and Wufy). Told me she had to send the project she made when she was working on the various versions of that avatar, and when I tried it out later on… it’s full of ‘Missing Prefab”s.

This morning, I took a closer look at the issue. The modified ADModel.blend, Unity claims the model doesn’t have the bones needed to make it into a Humanoid avatar (like it was completely un-rigged). So I took a look at it in Blender to further investigate the issue. God damn I wish I had the knowledge to close out these windows!!
The armature was indeed there. Strange. Looking at Cats, I saw a ‘Fix Model’ button and tried it. This was its result (after changing the color of the mesh);

So the Hip to the Spine seems to not be connected to the other bones, which is crucial for a Humanoid avatar. Ugh.. fuck the age of this model!! Told Kat the problem and what I tried to do.
Around 11am, she responded back saying I “shouldn’t have to open the model in Blender”. And said for me to try and select this ‘Open Scene Addictive’ under Assets…

Grayed out. Then before she left to go to work, said I might have to use an earlier version of Unity (“the one they used in June”).. that means I also have to find what SDK version they used back then.

WHY, Kat. WHY. Okay, just relax, I’ll wait ’till after she gets back from work.

I was trying to get some more pictures for this section (such as what Unity was bitching about of the model not having enough bones).
…Yet Unity kept crashing on me every time I tried clicking on the .blend file. ..The FUCK?! Yes I still had Blender opened, but I was able to do it before! Closed out Blender and tried it again, same issue. ..Uhh, WHAT is going ON here?! What did I DO?! I didn’t save the changes Cats did in Blender!
Opened up the .rar and replaced the .blend file with a fresh copy.. the issue persisted. Then I tried deleting everything from the project folder and added everything from the .rar.
Opened up Unity. It did its processing, and I see this…!

…Um. Okay!? So it’s working now! I guess this was the way I should had done it (deleted what Unity had installed when setting up the new project folder, and moving the contents over).
Well then, I’ll call this a victory! …But something crossed my mind, of the hell I just went through. How in the fuck am I going to move this into the dancer scene (and have it intact like this)? Due to the age of the model, I don’t think I can pull it off like I did with Cola and Red’s avatars (or even what needs moved over).
But with time (and patience on my end), I’m sure I can do it (and hopefully not fuck up BTD 3.0’s model in any way, shape or form).

And that’s kind of been what I’ve been doing most of the day, using the same written system I did for Fluffy’s model that Kovo made, to mark what gets moved over. But there was one thing I was confused about; the new ShapeKeys of the model. Why is ‘WingSpread’ set to 3.76? Shouldn’t it be 0? There were three others that clearly aren’t there by default..

Testing them out, the ‘Oh Baby’ is what controls the custom blush. And ‘That Ass
tho’.. well, I’m sure if I was good at BlendShapes and did this for my main model, Blue wouldn’t leave my ass alone (as it controls the THICC)… and I can’t believe I just said that!

And ‘floof’ is an odd one (as it’s reversed). 100, removes the chest fur. Weird.

Asked Kat mainly about the WingSpread (as it’s part of the original model) of why it was set to that. She claims “any settings it has were in the upload”. So I take it you didn’t do the ShapeKeys. Well then, who did? ..Oh well, but thank you! And thank you for letting me do this!! πŸ˜€

Went to go play some VRChat. When I was done I went back to this and tried just moving the model over (making a backup of the original ADModel.blend). Got in Unity and checked my BTD versions. BTDB 2.0’s missing its Dutchie tail. Tried what I could to fix the problem, but to no avail.. it’s linked to the default ADModel.blend. FUCK!!
Ok, fine. Then let’s try to have it use the backup then. And the backup was doing what I saw before of ‘not having enough bones’.
Both the modified AND the backup of the original are doing this!

So I was pretty screwed at this point. I thought I might as well…

…it’s time for me to learn how to do ShapeKeys with the new 1.2b model!! But I wasn’t about to throw in the towel just yet. Asked the VRChat Discord for help, immediately got a somewhat helpful “the answer’s right there. Either set it to a Generic rig or re-attach the bones in Blender” answer. And knowing the Generic rig option isn’t working.. I need other help!
Someone by the name of ‘kohi’ tried to help me with this, discovering there is absolutely nothing wrong with the model (it’s fully rigged), so the fault is Unity. Then he tells me something I kind of wish Kat told me, but she probably overlooked it; to export it as an .fbx.
Did that, and I saw a model! But when I dragged it into the scene.. I immediately noticed an issue– the ears are stuck in the ‘sad’ position. So this is the new ‘jaw stuck hanging open’ issue.. UGH the AGE of this model!! Setting 100 of the ‘DroopyEars’ BlendShape caused the ears to look like Dumbo;

Not good!! HOW am I going to fix this?! I knew Kat wouldn’t be able to help (she’s done all she can for me). Then I had an idea of creating a prefab of Jero’s model and hopefully do that. Will Unity allow it??

After dinner, I looked again at the model. Maybe I can manually adjust the ears? Using BTD 3.0 as a base for the height and ear placement, I did as good as I could. Tried setting DroopyEars again, and it looks like it works! Sweet! At least I pray it stays like that.

Moved the eyes over. They were still using my BTD 3.0’s eyes, and did the necessary renames to make sure there would be no conflicts. Had to manually set them (the monstrosity did come with the eyes by the way). It took awhile, but I feel I got them set.

My heart (when I see those eyes, and can almost hear his sweet, calming voice that I fell inlove with)…

I feel I’m pretty much ready for the idea now– getting the dances I feel would fit Jero’s personality best. I got all the dynamic bones moved over (thanks to the prefab).
The only thing I feel I still need to focus on, is how to get the blush to show up (without an animation). And I feel it’s going to be the same as Cola’s blush (aka it’s not possible unless I set it within the dance animation). Poses though, won’t be a problem.
Speaking of the dances, I might ‘barrow’ a few songs from the group, to symbolize that Jero also has a lewd side (that he definitely showed once, and I still remember.. and how I wish Fluffy could compete with it if only he wouldn’t get tired so easily).

Over a year later, the original Dutchie is updated

I could start this with pretty much anything. Saying how I never liked nor disliked the Dutchie (only of how popular the model got (how I felt it didn’t deserve) and how I was so determined to not use it). But I eventually broke down and did. Yet there was always an issue with the age of the Dutchie model not being updated since the first Unity version for VRChat was used.
Constant issues of people not able to reimport the model.. and the headaches I had trying to help Lightning_Dragon (who STILL hasn’t managed to fully figure it out, even with multiple people helping him).

Well that has all completely changed (or so Kaelygon has said. Yes, he made the changes).
And the changes include;
-Working eye tracking (using Villar eyes)!
-The new model is 22k polys, so it’s higher quality.
-New Shapekeys (left/right eye blinking, ‘angry’ & ‘happy’).
-A better tongue (and has teeth)!
-Paws that are part of the model.
-No longer requires Blender to be installed to view the model (no more need to reimport).
Best of all, it’s free*! You can get it right here.

*Even though the model is free, it greatly encourages you to donate as much as you feel the model is worth to you (of the effort that was put in). Personally I haven’t tried it yet (let alone run it through Blender) as I’ve been so busy with my new BF most of the day. Once I do and it’s better than ever, I will try to find some way to pay for it (as a HUGE thank you from me for updating the model).
But yeah, that ‘run it through Blender’ is something I have to do (as it’s a new model). And I am hoping Cola comes to my rescue to teach me how to remove the horns, wings, and these ‘3D beans’ (so I won’t have to ask Erodac).
Maybe even teach me how to import and attach my BTD horns and elbow claws directly to the model. The other thing is going to be the back scales. So I pray Cola can help me with all of this (like I said, at least teach me this shit, and I’ll write it all down in a ‘cheat sheet’ of sorts to memorize what to do).

Cube World, 6 years (and one month) later — Was it really worth the wait?

2013 was a pretty ‘interesting’ year for gaming, at least for me;
Minecraft and WoW were high on my list of favorite games.
-The Dead Space series is unofficially dead (with the end of the nightmarish ‘Dead Space
3: Awakening’ of the moon waking up and voring the Earth.
-Was having some major issues with BSOD’s caused by my own stupidity.
-When I completely lost interest in the MRT Server (of the mods and Frumple apparently not liking my idea of paving the world in asphalt).

…Then my birth month rolled in; August 2013. And two very promising games came out. One was Miner Wars 2081 (the birth of ‘Space Engineers’), and another… was
called; Cube World.
Cube World, as I said, looked to be a very promising, fun voxel-based game. Just like any RPG game, it offered a choice of races and classes (with cookie cutter skill trees).
Combat was quite fun, and even easy to master for my simple-minded brain. Played as a Rogue and I loved it; welding a katana, I felt like a badass.
The game even allowed you to have pets (and if they were ridable, you can also use them as mounts). Best of all, any class could have it.
People wanted more from the dual dev team; a guy named ‘Woley’ and his wife, and the devs promised more in the future. But.. it never happened. We were presented by a very promising thing, that stopped being worked on. People understandably began to get nervous. Did something happen?
Weeks, turned to months. Even more silence. People began to suspect the devs took our $20 and ran away with it. I however helped Wolay would post something soon about this.

And he did. And here’s the times he did;
-November 2013-January 2014: just pictures and text, no word on an update.
..Radio silence for 2 months. It was around this time when I got bored with the game.
-April-May 2014: just pictures and text, no word on an update.
..Radio silence for 5 months. Most people were getting frustrated, feeling Woley took our money and is wrongfully teasing us with ‘updates’ we’ll never have.
-October 2014-May 2015: ‘Tweet storm’ of pictures/text. Still no word on an upcoming update.
..Radio silence for 3 months. Woley.. WHERE’S THE UPDATE?! It’s been two years since the release! Where’s the promised updates you keep tweeting out?!
-August 2016: Only two tweets. More update pictures, no actual update.
..Radio silence for 2 months.
-November 2016: Only a single tweet.
..Radio silence for 5 months (again).
-April-May 2017: “This is getting ridiculous” a lot of people felt.
..Radio silence for a month (shortest one to date, but the damage was already done to his reputation. More and more were calling Woley a ‘scammer’ and demanding refunds).
-July 2017: Another single tweet. No update!
..Radio silence for 2 years and 6 months. Longest ever known silence to date.
-January 2019: “…Cube World LIVES?!” I also felt that this might finally be the year the update releases. Still, it’s been almost 6 years since the release. No update should take this long! Also, the UI has been noticeably changed since two years ago.
..Radio silence for another 5 months.
-July-August 2019: Another noticeable change.. what happened to the XP bar?
-September 2019: Possible RELEASE DATE?! That same month, Woley posted a blog on his website explaining the delays. Most people didn’t buy it. | Also that month, Cube World BETA was released, with a mentioning of Cube World Alpha people will get the game when it’s released on Steam (for free).
-Late September 2019: ‘Cube World 2.0’ released on Steam, with.. most promised changes over the years.
==Current day (late November 2019), radio silence, nearly two months after the release. Woley promised updates.. Woley lied. A majority of people want Steam to take the game down and ruin it for people like me who just want to play the game again.

So as you can see, it hasn’t been good for Woley. Claims he’s been depressed over what happened to his game (which seemed understandable). Yet at the same time.. why release a bunch of pictures and never follow with an update?
There’s two reasons at play that I can think of, and both are trying to be as supportive as I can;
1. It’s like poor Woley forgot the premise of what an ‘early access’ game is. Frequent updates are a MUST, especially when people paid for the privilege to do so. To release pictures explaining changes.. yet not release said changes for them to playtest, is wrong. So very wrong.
2. Something’s wrong with Woley’s mind; keeping these updates to himself (as he claims they ‘aren’t good enough’ for release). But this goes back to the first reason.
…I just don’t feel Woley deliberately did this. But it’s also hard to defend of the thought that these tweets were like a metaphorical ‘carrot on a stick’, and we’re the hungry pigs that are trying to reach for it. I for one just don’t want to believe that.. unless he admits
it.

And when it finally got released, some say it’s worse than it was 6 years ago. You want to defend the creator, but on the other hand you also have to agree that this is extremely ridiculous.
Probably the most ridiculous change is the region lock for weapons/armor, and special items. You go to another region, your gear no longer works (as they’re still bound to the previous region) and have to be replaced with weapons/armor of that region.
Essentially, you’ll have to ‘level up’ all over again.
Speaking of leveling up, getting XP from mobs is no longer a thing. You get it from collecting artifacts. And enemy level is now known by the number of ‘+’s they have.
1 +: Easy. 5 +’s.. four hits = you die.

‘Half-Life: Alyx’ confirmed — Team explains VR, Half-Life 3, reason for delay

Super exciting gaming news. Let November 21st 2019 become a holiday, for a company known for a few infamous memes such as..
“worth the weight”
“Soon(TM)”
and “Half-Life 3 confirmed”,
is actually doing something with the Half-Life universe. Something..BIG.
Presenting.. Half-Life: Alyx; a full-length AAA VR game. And if this doesn’t get people interested in the future of video gaming, nothing will.

Story: “Set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2, Alyx Vance and her father Eli discover a secret that leads them into the heart of the Combine’s occupation of City 17.
As Alyx, give humanity its last chance for survival.”

Listed to support all SteamVR-compatible headsets, all VR playstyles (blink/zoom/free) and all modes (room-scale, standing & seated play).
Release is scheduled for March of 2020.
Owners of the VALVe Index will receive the game for free.

Also, a group of the team behind the game has answered questions. Not of the game, but
of “why VR?” and “what happened to Half-Life 3?”;

More gameplay footage and answers will be revealed in The Game Awards: coming December 12th (approximately 20 days (two weeks and 6 days) from now).
This is also when 2019’s GoTY will be revealed.

Been strongly thinking of world building again

What the hell happened to my desire to build a world in VRChat? ..Ohh yeah. Boredom and being nervous what happened to my second world would happen again (even though that was my fault for not uninstalling ProBuilder properly).
Anyway, a few days ago (in bed), I had this thought of making a house based off of the ‘Provo’ house of my very, very old log homes book (that would even have a stream with rocks and stuff).
It would look like the house yes. But there was a thought of having a secret basement of sorts where I could have the dancers that I did (with a stage and stuff, similar to how Kovo did it for his world). And somewhere there I would have a secret portal (that you would have to press a series of secret buttons in a specific order, then have a keypad turn up) to my own ‘sexy’ world (that Kovo sent to me some time ago). And there would be the.. well, you know. πŸ† Let’s just say I would try to look up how to make a VRCChair animate. But it will also cement in my head that this is my present (of having the group).

So when am I going to get started on this…? As soon as I get enough courage to do so, as I just don’t see myself being able to do the house right with the fantasy pack (I’ve already tried and failed miserably).
Plus I need to learn how to build worlds again. It’s been a very long time. And for reason of theΒ  ones I have, the terrain is missing from them and I’m not remembering how to fix it.

To your left is the ‘Provo’ attempt I made, that I gave up on. The reason why is the lighting and.. just overall lost interest.

The reason for the lost interest is.. simply I couldn’t do it the way I wanted. The house is supposed to have a bathroom, but it would make the house too big (it’s supposed to be the size of a typical log cabin). Plus of not being able to find free models bugged the hell out of me.

Wanted to find a PS4 controller model. All I could find was a PS3 one.

I’m going to have to do a brand new world from scratch if I’m going to do this. I keep seeing the basement in my head as a way to.. well, push Jero out of my head and focus on the present.
Maybe I should just focus on this basement first, then the house.

Why can’t I just say “no, all I want is you to teach me”?

The past 4 days, I’ve been playing ASTRONEER solo… well, solo’ish. Let’s just say I wish the game had a ‘(Player name here) would like to join your save. Do you accept?’, instead of your friend able to join your save anytime they want.
Doesn’t feel safe, does it? ..Especially when I’m trying to teach myself how to play solo since… what, the update that allowed us to pick up base parts? It’s been that long. When getting Resin and Compound only showed you a general deposit and it was your task to find all the nodes in it. Now, it gives you an icon indicating a node is within your
crosshair– much better finding any resource nodes you might had missed.
Oh yeah, no more energy/oxygen nuggets in caves. Those were nice when taking a rover train underground (when looking for research, as there were no research nodes on the surface). Could almost give you infinite power, and made tethers kind of pointless.

So, I have two saves.. and soon I’m going to have a 3rd. The first (original) save was getting the base ready, but after getting the tractor and trailer (using it to find research nodes on the surface), I was getting bored and clueless on what to do next. I was also in talks with Wufy, who said he would show me. After adding him on Steam, he was able to join the save and then started ‘cleaning up’ my base.
Told me that I should be ready to make a rocket and visit Barren (or ‘Desolo’ as it’s now officially named). Yet apparently I was going too slow for Wufy’s taste, and the next thing I know (after getting resources for the rocket), he’s now playing my save for me. He even said he’s now doing what he said he wasn’t going to do.
But before we even went to the moon, it was bedtime.

2nd save, I wanted to take everything I learned from that experience and finally made the rocket (and a Solid-Fuel Thruster). Had everything I feel like I needed, but the ‘comfort’ of the small shuttle confused me on what I should bring for this mining mission (to get the Wolframite I need to make a medium shuttle and other stuff (as it’s not a shuttle you can store stuff in).
Took off, then forgot I needed something back at the base and landed. Little did I know that was a mistake (and would find out just how dire it was later on). But I got some tethers and took off again. Went to the moon and landed at a random LZ (in a crater). Started running a tether line and made a cave entrance down. Almost immediately I noticed how ridiculously slow it’s taking to generate power (as I had the Boost and Wide mod on my terrain tool).
Back on the surface, I tried to think of my options. I know I needed to generate power, and thought of going back to Terran (‘Sylva’ is it’s official name) and making a solar array (as Desolo shows ‘High Sun, Low Wind’ on the wiki). …But, I didn’t bring a beacon with me to mark my LZ. This would be the least of my concerns when I took off and noticed.. OSHI– I can’t GO back to Sylva! The thruster’s broken! FUCK!! I was forced to land back where I was.
This was about the time Kovo was talking to me since yesterday (when his crappy internet connection got even crappier and it no longer works, so he’s having to use a hotspot). Asked him for help as I didn’t know what to do (I never made a base on another planet as I usually got bored by this time! HELP)!!! So he did (after I joined general voice chat in his Discord), made a second rocket and got to
me (after I moved mine out of the way). Then he sent up a temp base, but said he was getting bad framerate and had to leave. Appreciate the help, but now I feel this wasn’t really done by me.. and was unsure if I should continue.
Wufy was about ready to come on, so I took off from the planet and went back to
Sylva, switched saves when Wufy joined the chat and the previous save. I told him about the save, and this is when we finally went to Desolo. He showed me how to properly set up your first base on another planet (solo), by using the starter platform and the starter medium printer. He also showed me the importance of landing at one of these alien
bases (known as ‘gates’). He even showed me the importance of heading down to the core of the planet..
And HOLY FUCK is it different than what I seen from Youtube videos!! It looked very alien. It’s called a ‘Gateway Engine’. Wufy explains them as a way that you can teleport to another planet with these, and how to link a ramp with this purple pillar which fucks with gravity. Way cool!
We did the same thing with Sylva (but we couldn’t get to the core as Drill Mod 2 or 3 is
needed), and my lord is the way down nothing like I’ve ever seen. There’s a mushroom biome down there! Too fucking cool!

Though I was was getting tired watching him run around, giving me almost nothing to do. Wufy, I asked you to help me, not play my save for me.

Next day (while I was waiting for my headset to arrive), I was thinking of going back to the second save. But I kept thinking of how I’m going to be able to do that, when Kovo’s rocket is there. Finally I got on, made some fresh tethers (thinking I would need them), two solid fuel thrusters, and blasted off for Desolo (on a recovery mission). Found an LZ (Landing Zone) a few clicks away from the rocket. All I needed to do was carry it to the other LZ and get Kovo’s rocket out of there. Got there just fine and grabbed the solar farm. Luckily my rocket has a spot to carry the medium storage I originally brought.
As for the beacon, I had to leave it there (as I had no room on my backpack). Blasted off again and attempted to land at the LZ right at the gate. But almost immediately as I touched down (almost in the center of the gate), the rocket lifted back up and the thruster was used up. Though I’m glad I made that backup, this created a problem.. where do I land now? Luckily there was an LZ about 4 clicks away from the gate, and landed there.
Carried the rocket further than before, and found a good flat area at the gate. Trying to find a spot for the solar farm (where the gate’s shadow doesn’t block the system’s
star) took awhile, but I found a good spot (and then started setting up what I needed). Joined general chat by myself, thinking Kovo or someone would join and we can talk while I attempted to set up my first base on another planet.

About an hour later… Wufy joined the chat (and the save, without warning.. which is why I need a thing giving me control on allowing someone to join it), and I stupidly said “yes” for him to clean up my new base on Sylva.
My mind was also “mind coming over here and seeing if I did it right?” Tried to fight it but it leaked out. He however felt I got this, but I asked questions on what do I grab and stuff. He told me to simply gather enough Wolframite to fill my backpack, so I did and headed back to Sylva, seeing the new base.
Ok, I actually like this new base design idea. It looks streamlined and has similar characteristics of what I did when I first played with this thing (of doing a custom base). Think I’m going to use this design for now on.
Had to go back to Desolo as I needed to retrieve some things I left to deliver that Wolframite. But this time I know I can use the Oxygenator’s spot for a Medium
Storage (and load that up with Wolframite). That way I’ll have some room on my backpack.
Leaving Sylva, suddenly I’m all “shit, I forgot to grab a beacon!” Wufy claims I don’t need one. Get back to Desolo.. uhh, why are the tethers not active? FUCK, I forgot to grab an Oxygenator! ..And that’s when Wufy (once again) started playing my save, making my base on Desolo better and doing other things.

Now it’s got to the point he has a Large Shuttle and blasts off for his base on Glacio, trying to find me something to do (and can’t think of anything). This isn’t really teaching me anything, except making me less and less interested in playing with you (and this game in general).

When you’re bored, so you take a virtual drive to where they’re repairing your headset


Just completed as of 1:11am Tuesday morning. Started 12:36pm Saturday. Guesstimating three days. If I had done the drive IRL (including time for rest, bathroom breaks, heavy traffic and road work), probably a day and a half. Google Earth assumes you’re a robot (as sleep is for the weak) and traffic doesn’t exist, so it claims you could do this in 11 hours and 22 minutes. …Hardly.
Five states I have (virtually) traveled through to my destination, Pennsylvania being the biggest (and most beautiful) because of the heart of Appalachian Mountains going through it. 8 interstates I have (virtually) traveled on (with I-70 being the longest). I was even on the famous Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-70/I-76) that cuts through the Appalachians.
So your question, why did I do it? Because I have no life! 😜 That and I was curious of how I could handle it. Plus, I don’t think you folks know that the other thing that I’m a fan of (than all things dragon), is my first love; interstates, their signs, and interchanges. Call it a very strange thing to enjoy, but we all have our weird things.

And helping me on this crazy endeavor of mine, a simple AutoHotkey script I made that simulated moving the mouse wheel up every half a second (was later modified and cleaned up by a member in the AHK Discord to include ways to pause the script).

Took several pictures of my virtual drive (after arriving in Cincinnati, OH). Never have I been on I-71 beyond I-75 IRL (as we would be going to Dayton to see the Air Force Museum).

…and Cincinnati is still is a freakin’ beautiful city.

Most boring route was leaving Columbus, OH on I-70 (from I-270). I once thought of giving up of how long it was (and I believe one time I even fell asleep). But I kept at it as I could see I was getting closer and closer to West Virginia and then Pennsylvania.
The gateway to West Virginia is a modest riverside port city called ‘Wheeling’, and what was even cooler is the river it’s apart of.. is the Ohio. So that means I crossed over this river three times; once when leaving my city in Indiana, once while entering Cincinnati, and now with Wheeling, WV.

Thankful for this being a solo virtual drive. Could just imagine if I was streaming my journey to a friend and they saw the sign, they would do this to me.

I-470 served as a bypass of the city, and eventually I re-joined with I-70 which entered..
Crossing this huge state not only was fun (because of the Appalachians), but the interesting way they do road work (of making it a requirement to use your headlights when in a work zone). Plus having emergency pulloff lanes that go to dirt roads (for areas with no shoulders).

After getting on the famous Pennsylvania Turnpike (a toll), things were getting crazy;

With exits further East (where I was going), and to Pittsburgh.
Then.. the real beauty began (when I went shutter crazy) when you feel you’re in a Jungle Biome from Minecraft.

Does your interstate have a babbling brook next to it?! I didn’t think so!

A quarter into PA, things went a bit strange with the signs;


But the beauty wasn’t done, as I (virtually) neared mile marker 200 of I-70/76. Also something about the mile markers in PA, they actually do a .1, .2, .3 etc all the way to the next mile;

Soon, I-81 took over, finally leaving I-70 behind as it was heading for Washington D.C. But this route (via US 11 to I-81 North) took me through a small town called.. ‘Middlesex’. What the fuck. I am not making this shit up.
Beyond that, I have these pictures as I was approaching another large town called Harrisburg;

And the interesting downtown Harrisburg exit, over a river;

Soon, I-81 was going too far North and I needed to go more East, so I-78 came into play;

I-78 carries me allllll the way to the New Jersey border, as I’m 3/4 in PA and slowly approaching its eastern border. The gateway is called Easton. But virtual night was
falling… aka when Google’s Street View people thinking it’s awesome to do a late evening drive– where the longer it goes, the more pixelated it gets.
A great example of what I mean is when finally leaving PA for NJ, trying to take a picture of the welcome sign of the state.

Look at that shit. This is what I’ve been having to occasionally deal with. I literally had to go to I-78’s Westbound side (backwards) to get a better picture;

Quite the difference between night and day, huh? Luckily for me it didn’t last long as there was an earlier drive from 2017 that took over.
Two things make the route to Newark and eventually my destination, interesting. First its their traffic safety system having areas were fines are doubled if you’re caught speeding.
And second…

‘MURICA!! Where we hang flags on the sides of our overpasses!

Getting closer and closer to Newark (New Jersey is so tiny compared to the other states I’ve been in), things would really get interesting as I-78 was about to split in two (with a LOCAL and EXPRESS route).


Since I’m obviously not from around here (and I need I-95 to reach my final
destination), I used the Express route. Freakin’ cool how there were two I-78’s, though.

But as this split was happening, I was having issues where there was no Express I-78E street view routes at times. Made it difficult to get pictures on interesting signs, but I still managed to get what I could.
Soon it was TOLL time as I’m going through Union, NJ. Also now there’s a 3rd highway?!… crazy road engineering shit. I love it!

The craziness that happened after the toll (as I-78 put itself back together)…

With the traffic shuffle clearing, it was time to finally leave I-78 (it served its purpose of getting out of PA) and get on I-95 North.


Hello, I-95 (where it looks absolutely crazy with 6 lanes going North and 3 going South). Thing is, I never actually merged onto I-95 until later on. This craziness was still going.

Later, the lanes to the left actually went under the one I was on, and I finally merged onto I-95. And that route kept going into the distance. To my right is New York City.

And finally, after traveling through multiple states and traveling on multiple interstates.. I have reached my exit (with its own set of craziness).

For this wasn’t a standard exit… sure it had a toll booth, but it turned into its own highway.


…Which ALSO turned into a highway.

And kept doing this…

Over…

And over!

Things started calming down for a bit, entering the high tech town of Carlstadt. Finally the destination city!

…Oh no, not AGAIN!! But look at the sign names.. ‘U-TURN’?! What? And why is the route line saying to go straight and then go through it?

Whatever it was, it was another ramp that went around and had me facing the way that blue-purple beam was going. I also got this.. interesting picture of a traffic light.

..REALLY?! Grow up! Anyway, I had no idea the road ahead would.. finally…

“You have arrived at your destination.”

And so, I have finally arrived, where I’ve been impatiently waiting here (as I cannot go any further in). I will be virtually be flying back home once I get word from UPS this company has shipped it back to me.

That ‘other’ issue that just won’t go away

For a day I’ve been plagued by another kind of issue that refused to go away. But instead of it being my headset or my computer, it was something affecting my dancers (related to the new mods I had installed).
I had just finished mass-rebuilding every VRC_Inventory of all the base avatars and began standard testing (making sure they’re firing on command now). Most of them were working as expected. Then I went to the all dancers one.. and holy shit my framerate tanked after it loaded up!! What was worse is my wings were folding into my head and my tail was pointed straight up.
Clearly a collider problem.. yet this thing was kicking my ASS!! Even going as far as cloning one of the existing base avatars and deleting the old one, nothing was working to fix the problem! Even deleted the colliders of the base avatar, still nothing! WHAT THE FUCK?! This is an exact copy of a working base avatar!! THIS MAKES NO SENSE!!!
But I did get some funny pictures when it was happening;

Ok, so it’s got to be the songs now. Tried disabling them, and somehow they’re still active! WOW. Made a dupe of the problem and deleted the songs off of the original (knowing this was my last option). Prayed when I switched to it.. the problem’s gone?! YES!! Confirmed issue with the songs. Odd though as I never made any changes to them since what happened when trying to debug a fuckup.
Wanted to see if it was all songs, or a specific one. Tried moving just one of them to the original and uploaded it.
Now we’re getting somewhere! No issues with the song! Testing continued until I finally narrowed it down to ‘Shake It Off’ being the culprit song (no other song was causing the issue).
And THIS.. is what was causing it;

Blue’s floor collider, 10x larger than it needs to be.
This is what it’s normally supposed to be as;

Culprit found! Problem is, both colliders were using the same size. So I copied a working Blue and hand-maneuvered it to the messed up one, then deleted the old one. Song still works just fine.
Uploaded the changes, and confirmed fix! So, that’s about it. Sorry if this post feels it was rushed, but I’ve been working on other projects instead of finishing the ones I already did.

Unity pet peeve #3,563,292,420..and 2 — No mirror option for posing

Boy it’s awesome when I can post pretty much anything on my website, and send it to friends. Anyway, as you can see, this is what I’ve been having to deal with in Unity yesterday.
I discovered you can move two bones at the same time, such as legs (to make things symmetrical). But… apparently for some unknown boneheaded reason, you cannot mirror bones (like arms) for perfect symmetry. Such as having both hands meet eachother (but from different angles). That sort of thing is what I’m talking about.
And I..still don’t understand the reasoning of why I cannot do this.
Asking the VRChat Discord for any sort of hotkey that will do it, waiting pretty much all damn day for an answer. SURELY Unity would have this!!
While I waited, I tried looking online for something, anything that could help. The closest thing I got was something about Unity scripting. Uhh.. nope, not for me. I’m not that advanced with Unity.

A nice soul by the name of ‘Artist_shawn’ (on Discord), wanted to help me by posting a help request (for me) in Unity’s forum. But at the time of myself typing all of this, it hasn’t received a single response– and I doubt it ever will, for I posted this yesterday on DJ’s Discord server and got a not-so-hopeful response this morning.

Going by that response, it’s now highly unlikely there even is a way (even in a future Unity version). And lets also think realistically here; Unity is a game engine used by lots and lots of Inde devs for their games and what not, so why pray tell would it need the ability to mirror poses for one game?
But speaking of future versions of Unity, a few days after I made this post, the devs have made it official that by the end of the month (via an open beta period), they’ll be moving to Unity 2018 (calling it the ‘Unity 2018 VRChat Open Beta”). The current version they’re beta testing is Unity 2018.4.9f1, and warn that this version may rise during the open beta period.
They also promise improvements dating all the way back to Unity 2017 version 5.6. You know, that old version where we were able to hide limbs by disabling them.
Lastly, I saw talk of this ‘Udon’ in the open beta discussion channels. Not sure if this thing is going to replace the need for Unity, or when it’s going to come out. But from what I see, probably not ’till next year (as something about more 2018 fixes are planned).
If you’re an avatar/object/world creator (especially ones that do scripts for shaders), you are recommended to participate in this beta to help the devs bug fix your issue(s).
