Back to this same song and dance, and drama with the devil. But before I get to it (as I’m sure you folks really enjoy seeing me posting Wurm-related things(that are mainly drama)).
Sarcasm aside, I’ve been once again trying to think of a good redesign idea. Now that I ‘have permission’ to do the docks..well, after thinking for awhile, I realized now why the owner did them (at least what I can assume..if this person actually planned it like what I’m thinking, I’ll probably never know).
And my assumption (which makes sense), the fact the canals of that deed actually connect to the canal that goes to the impalong location, that in order to prevent clogging the canals with boats (which in ways would also ‘lower the property value’), the docks were made.
So yeah, not needed in this case. DTH isn’t directly connected to the ocean like OR was, instead it requires canals to do so.
Instead…how about let’s take DTH (or rather the land when I first discovered it) back to its origins)? Aka, dig down the original ‘canal’. Tried this in Deedplanner, using my manually-done plan that shows the original location. Did the math, and then started marking what it would look like with a current plan. Discovered it’s one tile from hugging the north edge of the deed border, and then directly doing that at the ‘turn around’ basin. Then I tried it with the idea I once gave Saint, which is extending it and having it end at the token.
This is good, however I’m at a loss of where to put my house (that won’t look tacky). With OR, the NW corner was the obvious location (because of ‘dat view).
Ahh wow. This reminded me what an advantage I had with OR, and that old expression of “the grass is greener on the other side”. Sure, it’s green, it’s flat, but it also gives WAY too many design possibilities. OR was SIMPLE! This, is fucking complicated!
Kicking the house a few tiles to the north to line up with the new boat landing, just feels.. ‘weird’ to me. I feel I need to go back to Release and get a good look at the deed with the house on the flat area (the one with the bridge that leads up to Vertigo).
I must learn the ‘secrets’ of people who do deeds like this! My brain hungers for the knowledge! (Though, common sense says “you idiot, there are no ‘secrets’. Just build the way you want!”) Queue another episode of my emotions fighting themselves.
Will Tulsi actually stay this time?
I did know one thing, one thing that needed to be addressed (so I’ll be able to do it whenever I’m ready); getting Tulsi on, and getting him to give B2 and I perms to the rowboat I made for him. I managed to get him on, but getting him to the rowboat was another story. Had to wait a few minutes until he finally ‘decided’ to do what is instructed. Told him to right click and select ‘Manage Ship’. Said he couldn’t do it.
I thought “okay, let’s see if he can access it another way” and had him go to Manage Ships. Said there were none owned by him…ahh fuck!
I got B2 on to verify that he too didn’t have control, and it was confirmed..I had typo’d his name, and locked myself out. Only way to fix this is a GM call. But instead of doing it myself, I had B2 do it. Except Tulsi kept demanding my attention, asking “where is my HOUSE?”
I told him to get Prem, and show me that you care about Wurm (once again.. that song and dance). He blames me for ‘not letting him know’ as he had a prepaid card he could’ve used to get it. If I could barrow a quote from Oogy Boogy Man from The Nightmare before Christmas;
“Oh, brother! You’re something! You put me in a spin! You aren’t contemplating, the situation that you’re in!” And the ‘not contemplating the situation he is in’ part, is forgetting the hell I went through with him of when we first moved here. Yet after 15 minutes of trying to talk sense into him, he still wants a house.
I’m forced to try to explain it in a way a 12 year old could possibly understand (using virtual crayons and a virtual doodle pad, and draw stuff that possibly a 6 year old could understand). This time he seemed to understand what I’m getting at (somewhat), then I reminded him of telling me, to my face, that he didn’t care for Wurm. I said “am I not wrong?”, he says “no”, then repeats the same answer of saying “so you admit you did say you don’t care?”.
He started doing his ‘dot thing’ when I said “you’re doing it again”(saying no to everything I say). Then I decided to give him one last chance, saying that if gets prem (and pulls his own weight on the deed), then (and only then), would I feel like he deserves a house. Instead he tries to build a 1×1, on his own. Alright, okay. Fine. He’s also asking how to make things, and I teach him.
Finally that I felt I’ve dealt with him (he’s making a backup cart claiming he needs more space), I had B2 report the boat issue to the GMs. The reason is simple; I as DH won’t see the annoying Support tab for a week (since B2 mostly stays offline).
I tell Tulsi that it’s time he should build a coffin, giving him the benefits of one. He claims it’s ‘easy’… we shall see.
Parlay with a prankster GM
After he got the cart built, he asked me if he could build his 1×1 in the deed (after I warned him that outside = death). He found a spot behind the boathouse. Immediately a GM (by the name of ‘Njorun’) responds to B2’s report. I tell Tulsi to quiet down, that I need to focus on this.
Takes five minutes to know that I truly did typo Tulsi’s ingame name, and they transfer the name back to DH. This time I -carefully- rename it Penadragon, making sure each and every letter is correct. Tulsi comes over and sees he now has perm access.
B2 thanks the GM, and they close the ticket. That should be it with them. All there’s left to do is get Tulsi to give B2 and I perms to command (so I can move the boat when I’m ready). But instead of allowing me to make sure I can command, he starts to drive it out of the deed and to the lake. I tell him to come back so I can make sure the perms are set… I also notice his avatar is now a pumpkin, but it doesn’t really catch on. Soon Tulsi finally turns around and heads back. Suddenly I felt slower as I’m heading back. My event tab catches my eye: “You feel quite different.”, followed by “You are no longer affected by Illusion.”
I’m like “..wha?”, and see ‘
He gets the rowboat stuck at the corner. I tell him to just wiggle and he’ll be free, but he’s confused on what to do. Just then, Njorun pops up next to him in the typical GM getup. And HOLY FUCK the speed Tulsi was going while running away!! HAHAHAH!! Oh god, I can’t stop laughing! BEST. FUCKING. REACTION to a GM popping up!! ):D
I used this to take control (as clearly Tulsi was too busy running for his life than to annoy me), and wiggled the rowboat out of the gap. Very happy everything’s working fine. Hop off and see Tulsi scared to death, back to the Grinding Floor. Njourn decides to have a little fun, flying close to him. Tulsi’s all NOOO DON’T HURT MEH!! Oh god. All I could do was whip out my camera and take pictures of this comedy gold moment.
Njourn then turns to me, saying they’ll be leaving. I thanked them so much for the assistance. He heads to GV and disappears. Tulsi said he was legit scared seeing a “fking flying monster or whatever”. Wow. I hate to say this, but I would love to do this more often to him (of when he doesn’t listen to me). Still fucking laughing, how fast he got out of that boat!! Hahahaha! Ohhh god I’m evil.
The eclipse of Valrei and Sol happening right over my head, was pretty damn awesome. But THIS…this takes the win as being “the best way to end the day”! Not to mention it makes up for the ‘dramalong’.
