Looks like I was right, that yesterday was the final day. Because today, more people were heading home. Hardly anyone were working the forges, imping stuff. It just seemed things were wrapping up. Yet when B2 tried to ask if this was it, no one answered him.
On the bright side, pretty much everything thrown in the top floor enchanting area got what it needed.
There was one problem of not being able to get the carving knife out (it had the Steal option, and I’m pretty sure he was the one that put it in. There was someone else trying to get something from the same section B2 was. No staff were active, and it was a good 10-15 minutes until someone responded and was able to help him out.
I was going to wait ’till 4pm, thinking the main staff were going to come on (after getting off from RL work/school). More and more people are leaving. When the main person controlling the enchanting thing said they were leaving, that was pretty much my signal that.. it’s over. Got DH on and we grabbed everything. I as DH thanked them for their hospitality (and having a good impalong), also adding that I hoped to see all of them when the next one rolls around at Christmastime. Yet I got no answer. I doubt they were ignoring me, just busy.
Led B2 to where the boat was. Instead of going home, we went to Esert. With fog, being night, and a West breeze in my face, getting there took longer than I wanted. In the middle of the Shrieking Eel Lagoon, I couldn’t see shit but the island beside me. I was forced to dock next to it until the fog had lifted. It took only up to 10 minutes of finally seeing the coastline (and a glance at my compass) to get my bearings.
Arrived in the cover of darkness, with no one in local I hopped out of the boat and explored the starter town. And I was quite impressed. They definitely kept the theme of Esert the way I had remembered, but the buildings were changed. It felt like a facelift.
But the best thing are the roads had been redesigned outside of the town. Now you know where to go. I also went to the ‘mega-deed’ west of Esert, wondering what it looks like several months later. I told myself this thing was going to disband, because it looked like it was falling apart. And it definitely looked different, but it hasn’t fully decayed yet. Infact what was left of the deed was all pushed to be inside its border to prevent stealing. The deed still exists, but it’s not as big as it once was.
A friendly bet
Back to the boat, and back to home we go. This time I thought of taking an alternate route (to get around the impalong). It felt refreshing, and we made it to the east coast with no problem.
Crossed to Deli. And as I was heading down south for the next turn, I suddenly had an idea to see both the Xanadu and Inde impalongs (of having B2 go to the one in Xan, and I’ll go to the one in Ind). And to make it interesting, a ‘competition’ of sorts was thought of. We would split the remaining lamps, and whoever gets theirs imped first, the loser has to make the winner a casserole when we get back home.
I also told B2 to bring Tulsi with him, saying “he likes you more than me”. So, heh. Not only would B2 be in charge of chucking lamps in the forges and waiting patiently, he has to also watch over Tulsi.
I got this in the bag. Independence is the best server ever. 🙂
Valrei does a Jackal with Sol
Back home, B2 immediately makes a breakfast for us (as the ones we have are going bad) and then logs out. I’m getting ready to log out as well and then get on Deedplanner, to see if this dock idea is even possible. Decided to look up at Sol to see what time it was, …and freak the fuck out when I see Valrei about to cover it!! Then infront of my eyes, a total Solar eclipse! HOLY FUCK, AN ACTUAL SOLAR ECLIPSE IN WURM!! 😀
Sadly the ground and the sky never showed what would actually happen during a total solar eclipse (as in the ground nearly gets pitch dark and you can see sunrise 360* all around). It would had been SO BADASS if that actually happened.
The coolest part is it looked like Valrei had Sol’s halo around it (aka the ‘ring of fire’). The eclipse lasted for about a minute, then what should had been ‘the diamond’ showing as Sol slowly started poking past Valrei. And with that, the eclipse was done.
I saw Jackal staring at Valrei, almost like it was saying “Hey that’s my job!”
WOW. What a fantastic way to end the day.
