Space Engineers update recap – January

Apologize for not posting the latest Space Engineers news. Been busy for the past two weeks getting DirecTV hooked up, DVR sharing issues of parents VS me, getting my own TiVo, making a mistake of getting it and getting it replaced with a better HD DVR. A real mess.

So anyway, let’s go over the updates since my last update post. There’s only been two updates I haven’t covered.
January 2nd(first update of 2014!), Update 01.013.008. Crafting is added
This update makes crafting possible in Space Engineers and gives asteroid mining a purpose. There’s now ore in the game, which you can get all of it by starting a new game. You can process this ore into parts (which are currently unusable).

January 9th, Update 01.014.010. The small roleplay update
A small update by comparison, but useful for roleplay. Asteroids now have all ore types. Some ore is buried deep inside of asteroids.
Lighting can now be changed to different colors, similar to Garry’s Mod. So you can finally have that disco room you always wanted inside your ship. You can also set radius and intensity of lights.
Doors now have an opening/closing animation, and can be accessed via the control panel next to them. So now you can have proper airlocks.

Today(January 16th), Update 01.015.013. The Multiplayer Update!
Finally, the moment everyone has been waiting for! We now have MULTPLAYER! Watch the YouTube tutorial on how to setup a server. Please note that this is a bare bones version and is likely to have bugs.
On top of that, there’s been other smaller changes;
-Landing Gears have been improved, with increased magnetic force.
-Small Ships now have a crosshair, useful for combat and also for navigation.
-Performance improvements.
-The first multi-language support added, for Russian players.

And that’s it. Enjoy the updates.
