Yesterday I finally beat Borderlands 1, completing as a Level 36 Hunter. The final boss was possibly one of the hardest bosses to kill in my lifetime. Why? Not much cover and its attacks are quite vicious.
I kept dying due to one of them, which is something I can’t hide from. This boss, you have to always be on the move (similar to the Warrior of the end of Borderlands 2).. even when it does its annoying eyebeam attack.
First time I beat Borderlands 1, was a co-op with a friend. Didn’t get the achievements I needed that run. This time I did, getting the “visit this place” ones, and “kill this key target” ones. My co-op friend pretty much did all the killing the last run. But due to being in a co-op, I got better gear.
This time, I barely killed the final boss. If it wasn’t the fact the gods blessed me with more ammo for my weapons, I would had been screwed. I had emptied my entire Assault Rifle and SMG’s bullets into that damn thing (anywhere I could get a Crit), and it wasn’t anywhere near dead.
But the main reason why I played, was to see what’s the deal with Handsome Jack, and the reason why he’s such a dick to the Vault Hunters. I heard rumors that he was in the game. Never saw him. Maybe he’s in one of the DLCs.
According to the wiki, what happened that really made Jack a total douchebag was after the final DLC, where the Claptraps of their Roborevolution against all humans for being treated like shit. I never completed that DLC. But they say that’s when Hyperion had all Claptrap units destroyed, but the original one at Fyrestone. And that Claptrap unit now belongs to one of the bosses.
How Hyperion manages to get in contact with the Vault Hunters for the first time, is a mystery. They contact you in the forth DLC. But what about the others?
In Borderlands 1, it’s the Crimson Lance; not Hyperion, who are the troublemakers. Even though after General Knox’s defeat, they are on the side of good in Borderlands 2.
