First post of 2014! 🙂 Happy New Year. With a new year comes new challenges for all of us in life.
One challenge is to deal with utter stupidity and greediness that I’ve seeing with Steam now. Currently, you can get all Tomb Raider games in a bundle for $14 (called the Tomb Raider Collection). The sale ends in about…3 hours (at 5am EST) from the time of this post. This is a sweet deal, but there’s one small problem; I already own Tomb Raider Anniversary which is part of the bundle.
So I’m thinking “Ok, that’s fine, I can just give it away” and went on with the purchasing process. Steam says LOL NO to me, by saying I will not get an extra copy. Currently, Tomb Raider Anniversary is $1.74.
This means, I’ll be wasting $1.74 on a game I already have, and won’t get my money back. That’s not much, but still.. the principle in this is, I wish we can make our own fucking bundles!
But no… I can’t throw them in my own bundle without Anniversary and save that $1.74, because it’s $33 something even with everything being 80 to 81% off.
I have to pay it, and get nothing out of it. I might as well allow a burglar to steal this wasted money with no questions asked and be able to keep my life for cooperating, because that’s what’s happening here. And it downright sucks.
Another smaller rant but still related to the topic, I have noticed the same games that went on sale before, during this sale, are going on sale again with deeper discounts. I don’t have to tell you this is pissing off a lot of their customers, hoping to get a good deal.
So many “why” in the world, and no answers. The only common one is “corporate greed” which sadly makes the world go round.
