Left the MRT(again). This time, it is final.

It’s been a week since I visited the server, and that’s it. I’m done. I’ve officially made up my mind.
I had thought of staying on the server. Yet knowing the only way to build roads is via a town or doing this stupid franchise thing. The more I thought about it, the more I disliked it to the point I’ve convinced myself to leave.
The whole franchise idea would had been too much on me. Even my road planning skills are questionable. Why I never built highways and interstates of my own map. For people to expect top quality would just be too hard on me.
Plus, the thought of having to work with others instead of myself… ugh. Just won’t be the same anymore. It won’t be what I enjoyed doing, which was building roads to express my Creativity.
Now, roads are handled by the Admins. And interstates… you have to have Frumple’s permission. Which of course, is fair if you don’t look at it from my perspective.

People claim they don’t want me to leave again. Yet I know in the back of my mind, they still want me to change. Even though they never say it. I keep getting bothered by a few people in Mumble, asking me if I built a town yet. Really. Why must you harass me like this? This is why I feel I’m being talked about behind people’s backs. This is one main reason I left(again).
I just feel I’m out of place. It reminds me of some movie or game.. dunno what, of being told that you don’t really belong here; that you’re outdated. I think it was the original Austin Powers movie, when they defrosted Austin and told him that the 50’s are dead.

To be honest, it really upsetted me when I left. I was upset at myself; the guy who just refuses to adapt. I don’t wish to feel this is Day 1 all over again, yet in another reality when I never became a Mod.
Roads are my thing. It’s what I do. Hell, I could even do a transit system if RailCraft worked with that server. Heard they tried and it caused the server to crash. But if they could had gotten it working, I could had shown them what the W2TS is like. And they could had shown me a few things.
Sadly, that isn’t going to happen. They’re still using the default way to utilize a transit system. Oh well, I guess.

Another reason I left, it’s what Tom1 told me when I asked him for “advice” on the matter. He said: “You have devoted all of your life to gaming.” He also mentioned how he was tired how I have said over and over that I’m going to quit. Said he could make a book’s worth with it. As true as these two things are, they also feel like a wakeup call… and I hate wakeup calls. They’re worse. :/

Meh. Try to get it out of my head. The best I can do. Just like the server. Though I did undo my ‘mistake’ of visiting. I even went as far as to publicly announce it, saying; “Well, guys. It’s been….. a fun visit. But it must end. I will not return, as too much has changed for me to handle. So, goodbye.”
Then I quickly quit to keep from seeing the shocked responses.

I’m sure even as I type this, mass-“What the hell happened?!” is happening on the server. But at least, no one will be in the dark. Shockingly, I haven’t gotten a single email about this. Maybe they just feel there’s really no need. This is good.
I just want them to know that I’m no ‘celebrity’. Being on since Day 1 is nothing to be proud of anymore. Neither is being an ass and shoving “I’m a former mod!” in people’s faces.

I don’t blame the server for this, as I didn’t blame it before. I, caused this mess. The road rules have been changed four times because of me. They don’t want to see big roads. They want to see towns. That was one of the reasons the server existed in the first place. Again, this is completely understandable! But my selfishness is all “FUCK towns! I want to have fun MY WAY!!” The server doesn’t need this. They need me to not be this. I’m not going to change my ways. I am a road builder. Nothing more.
And I HATE dislike working with others.

Ergo, why I left. They don’t need the drama, even though they got a really good chunk of it when I announced my leaving…. let that be the last bit of drama they ever see from me.

I also asked CG in Mumble, if I could be demoted to Member as I felt I didn’t deserve Trustee. And I found out the only reason I have it, is because I haven’t done anything wrong to the point to warrant a demotion. So it has nothing to do if I “deserve” it or not.
Well, no longer a problem anymore.
Do kind of wish, most MRTers actually played WoW and were on the same server as me. We could do a Guild. That way, they’ll be in my element.

I will return to WoW — where I was before I visited the MRT. Let this be the final MRT-related blog post I will ever make for the rest of my life.

To do a Road Building Franchise / Tom1’s downfall

I’m back from my routine dental surgery. The two teeth got removed a lot easier than I thought. Even the nearly completely gone tooth was taken out. There was no pain, just a shitload of pressure. Kudos to the skilled hands of the head dentist. 🙂
Though unfortunately, I have to go back in three weeks to get three more teeth out of my mouth. This time it’s the left side. It’ll be the day before BlizzCon. So yeah, I’ll be spending BlizzCon with a gauze in my mouth. :/

Anyway, quite a lot has happened recently. Some of it before my surgery, and some after it. Some of it had to do with my dislike about the new server. How I feel like a “stranger in a strange land” and have to “adapt or perish”.
Or, one can just choose to ignore it altogether. Leave the server again and never come back.
Most people embrace the change. Then again, maybe they don’t but don’t want to say anything. As for me, at first I felt I was “replaced”, all because I left the server. But Tom_Pairs actually gave me an idea; to start my own road building franchise. Where I don’t HAVE to build a town to build roads. I can get people to hire me to build their roads.

So this means.. “Ender Road Works” might be coming to a town near you. Though I still need to find a location to build my HQ, then get back on the wiki and make a good article on what services Ender Road Works will provide, and pricing.
Finding a good location, and thinking of a design for a building, is going to be hard, if not unrealistic. Without a town, it’s going to look really…. weird just having a skyscraper in the middle of nowhere, with my house near it.

However, this isn’t without issues. Major ones that would really make me feel replaced. Robin and Frozen(currently) have two separate regional divisions; an opt-in system that connects to all towns in their respected borders.
Currently, frozen owns NWAT. And Robin owns EAST. Why this is a problem, is town builders in these areas are eligible to make decisions on major roads and rails. Right now, Trustee and down aren’t. But that could change.
If it doesn’t, my franchise ain’t going to be worth shit. 🙁

.
The second thing is a bit more ugly, but it doesn’t concern me. Let’s say I wish I was there for Tom. Yet, I really don’t know the full story. Just seems to be one giant blame game, or a lack of communication. It’s between Tom and Music.
All I do know, is Tom isn’t himself anymore. He’s acting like… well, me. Except worse. He’s trying to get the new Mods demoted, all because he doesn’t like the new server and how everything has been going.
I’m not this bad. Don’t mind the new mods, as long as they do their jobs. Which they are.

Anyway, the night before I went in for my teeth extractions, Music, Tom and I had a long night. I was explaining to Tom about what I felt about the server, and Tom was “Let me get Music in here and you try to convince him, as he doesn’t believe me”. I’m scratching my head, saying “Tom, I already told Music about this” several times. Yet he refused to listen.

So I had to explain what I said to Tom. Then somehow it turned into Tom abusing Music over how he does his job, and his RL job. I don’t remember what happened, but it was really annoying Music. Tom was claiming that Music didn’t understand what he was trying to say, and Music was saying how he’s not going to sugar coat everything for him. Tom says that Music is being too “direct” and “bullying” members. I personally haven’t seen this.

This ended with Tom ragequitting. After I came back, I heard Music gave Tom a double warning for what he said to him.
This lead to me being interrogated over being part of the conversation by two mods, of them asking if I knew anything different. Since I had a gauze in my mouth, I couldn’t talk correctly. Though I did my best, I couldn’t give them anymore info, as I don’t remember word for word what was said. Never took screenshots of the Mumble chat. Mainly, I was in pain and one can’t think when in pain. Plus I was trying to get ready to head to bed.
Didn’t expect to be up that late.

So now, Tom’s wishing he never joined the server. Not sure if he got warned. Robin, one of the mods, told me how they’re going to hold off on it.
But, Tom acts like he’s alone in this. Doesn’t even listen to me anymore. He does admit what Music told me, that he’s trying to get the new mods demoted.
What happened to Mr always positive about life? …What the flying hell happened since I’ve been gone? What made him change so drastically? This is unlike him.
I may never know. Maybe it’s best I don’t. I have to remain calm for 24 hours anyway. Maybe tomorrow when I start to heal up, I’ll learn more.
From what I know, it’s a “he said he said” battle. There’s no winners. Only losers.

EDIT: It looks like Tom is back to his normal self. He sent a formal appology to the Admins and Mods in Mumble last night(10/18/14). This is both good and bad news.
Good, the fact he’s normal again. Bad… the fact he’s back to normal again.
Why is it bad? I no longer feel he understands me. He’s grown out of the depression stage and moved on to acceptance. I’m still stuck in depression.
Keep trying to pull myself into acceptance with this whole road building franchise thing, but I keep getting bombarded by “you ain’t going to build roads like you used to! You’re going to be people’s bitches! So, just keep on begging to build roads. You’ll never change. Just leave the server for your own sake. No one wants your drama” thoughts. Which puts me back into depression.

Seriously, I’m having second thoughts of this road building franchise. I feel I’m going to get backordered with requests and be unable to do them all. Or people are going to force me to think for them, putting my own words against me.
I may be a road builder, but a planner… I am not. Plus, the wiki page. How am I going to beg like a fucking dog for a bone, to get someone to…..do the fucking page for me? Having to depend on others is bad enough. Working for others feels degrading.
This could be one of those ‘swallow your pride’ type deals.

But yeah. Strongly thinking of quitting again, to save the server my drama. That’s why I quit before. Unlike others, I refuse to change. I refuse to move on. I refuse to adapt. Hell.. I even buried myself in an abandoned island to perish. Just become dust.

Why the server sucks now…

This covers Days 2 and 3 of being on the MRT. Both had their … episodes. In Day 1, I mentioned about having to be a new rank to build roads. Well, once you have this rank, you can build roads to other towns… that’s it. Central City is off-limits for the time being.
Why? Dunno. But you have to have that stupid rank to really do ANYTHING cool anymore.

They took away the /warp command for Trusted. Replaced with /home. I miss being able to use /listwarps, and use public warps. You do get three /homes, which is cool. But still, taking away something I’m used to. Bleh.

Moving on. Day 2, I had suppoe trying to bug me to build a town and wouldn’t take “Will you stop pressuring me?” as an answer. This is just him tired of hearing me whine that I can’t build roads the way I used to, and refuse to do a town. I never came on the server to build towns.
I came on to meet Frumple, and get ideas for the W2TS. Nothing more. The closest town I ever built was Big Lake, which was a fail from the start. Never to be topped by myself.

And Day 3… I nearly quit again due to being told “Ohh, the fact you left, you lost all control over Big Lake and we refuse to do your wishes, as you said you would never come back. Have a nice day”.
Those wishes, were to keep rail lines out of my peaceful town. Way before I left, I gave the Admins a letter to auction off Big Lake. But I said to tell the person, of my wishes. And one of those wishes, I said “NO rail lines in and around Big Lake!”
Yet what does the new Mayor do? … Add rail lines to Big Lake. And I have no right to say anything, because I have no rights to the town anymore!
So… someone hand me a slice of Humble Pie, because I need to eat it. :/

Plus I also had a fight over it in Mumble, and met one of the new mods who…*buries head with arms* had to put me in my place to shut me up. No matter what the fuck I said to the Admins… I have no rights. So that email I sent to them? It was a waste of my fucking time.

Yet I also get told “It’s OK, Benie! Just build another town!” Another town. Hardly. Big Lake was the work of me smashing my head against the wall, trying to think of ideas on how to improve it!
But, I’ve gotten over it. Supposed to just move on anyway. Why there’s a new map. More places to build. A ton more MRT lines to traverse. But is it really worth my time anymore?
…I doubt it. Then again, never know. I may just suddenly get another thought spurt to do a town or something. Though, the new MRT stations are giving me ideas on how I might be able to improve the W2TS, and take it finally to 3.0.

Visiting the MRT – A “celebrity” in a strange land

I worked up the nerve to come back to the MRT Server. Why, after I said I’m never going to come back?
Well, I was trying to find where Space Engineers kept saved games, due to a recent update. And I stumbled over my old MRT pictures. Looked at them, and felt a sense of laughter of the old times I had, with Yoshi, and some of the others.
I pondered if it was worth visiting the server. I could also use it to pass the time for WoD. So, I eventually decided to come back. Yet I wondered; “What will they say? And will they think I’m here to stay?”

It wasn’t the only reason I decided. The second, this Thursday, I’m getting more teeth pulled out of my mouth, and thought of just staying with them to get some laughs before going through hell.

Eventually, I did. First I had to install Java again, then I had to get Minecraft set up due to reinstalling Windows because of Skyrim (that was pointless as it didn’t fix the issue). Tried to get Mumble working, yet forgot the login info. Knew I had to log into the MRT to get it. Yet I had to get the version the server is on.

Popping in, I entered a barren, humongous world. It was this “Gamma Server” I read about. No sooner than a few seconds after I entered, the “OMG IT’S BENIE!!!” responses came at me. I’ll admit, I missed them. Frumple was there too, so that was cool.
Looking at the Dynmap, the map is HUGE. There’s a shitload of lines, and even as I type this, I haven’t gone on all of them yet! Also, it has a fucking MESA BIOME!! And a huge one at that! 😀 Those damn things are RARE!
The only thing I don’t like, the map is really barren. This is because from what I’ve read, the map has been open for less than a week now.

So anyway, I got the Mumble info. Had a lot of difficulty trying to get a connection. The first few times, it was ‘connection refused’. This was due to a typo of the port. Finally figuring that out, I got wrong password issues. It seemed nomatter what I did, I couldn’t figure it out. Tried to enter the password again, and it finally kicked on. Strange.
But with a busted mic, it hasn’t been easy. Having to type what I wanted to say.

For most of the day, I spent exploring. Met Yoshi who showed me a few of the new features. One of them is this “uCars” thing, that works with this silly economy plugin. It’s silly, because it’s pointless. Plus, they have a Lottery now that seems to be rigged in the Admins’ favor. Go figure.
So, what this uCars thing is, is having Minecarts as cars. Which gives roads more of a purpose, seeing gas stations here and there. You fuel up your Minecart.
There’s also an incredibly awesome plugin, called “Chairs”. It gives you sittable chairs! FINALLY! No more having to use minecarts as seats! The possibilities are endless, and it’s definitely something to consider throwing on my server. It’ll make my stations more realistic.

Going back to the MRT as a whole, I like the new.. smaller stations. Players that own stations can customize the exterior. However, these stations aren’t without their issues. Multiple times, I had to ask for assistance to clear obstructions. But they seem easier to fix than the old ones.
Also, instead of one massive tower of Spawn City, there’s five sub-hubs. Four of each cardinal direction(Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, Northwest) and a central one. Each one holds its own lines. Really like this.

At the end of the day, we played CAH. I did a lot of difficulty due to not having a mic. Though thankfully today, I found the old mic still works! So I won’t have to buy another one.

And today, I discovered an unsettling truth. It seems road ownership has changed once again, to be not in my favor. And boy, has it. This time, you have to be Councillor to build long distance roads. My Trustee rank isn’t going to cut it anymore.
And to get the rank, you got to build a town. Seems simple, yes? Not to me. On top of this, you have to build it well… they demand high quality buildings. :/
Dunno what I’m going to do. There’s no fucking way I’m going to do that. To build a town alone, I can’t do. Demanding high quality is overkill! D:<
In ways, maybe it's best. This is a Train server, not roads. And towns come before roads. But… to force me to make a town to even ask if they want a road to their town? That's BS. But there's nothing I can do about it.
In other words, road ownership is a thing of the past now.

On top of this, there's another issue. Due to my … "absence" from the server, Tom and Music are having a war of words. Music claims Tom is "just crazy" and there is no war. Yet Tom swears up and down that there is, and even asked me to help him with it.
If there's one thing I refuse to do, is participate in politics. I just want this "war" stopped between the two.

.
In closing, people ask if I plan to stay. I keep telling them I'm just visiting, and they tell me I should stay. What can I fucking do on the server? All I can do is build roads(which I cannot do thanks to the rules). Helping others, isn't what I do. I'm not a town builder. I'm going to be bored to death being on there. I can even feel it by visiting. That's not a good feeling, especially with most of them wanting me to stay.

WoD Pre-Patch 6.0.2 goes Live on Tuesday

Officially announced by the devs, the Warlords of Draenor Pre-Patch 6.0.2 will leave the PTR and hit the Live servers on Tuesday. This’ll be the first major content patch in over 10 months.
This marks the end of being able to solo LBRS and UBRS(until Level 110 or so). The Iron Horde is coming.

Basically, everything on the PTR is going to be on Live. Which scratches my head of “why this early”. The Iron Horde aren’t going to actually ‘invade’ until November 13th. Do the Alliance and Horde seriously sit on their asses for a month until finally deciding to send us through the portal?!
Maybe it’ll take Kadgar this long to figure out how we’re going to get into the portal. Whatever’s the reason, we still have to wait.

Why WoD Factions will be different from other expansions

Wowhead released handy guides of all the factions you can get reputation from. And I’ve noticed two things;
1. No more rep gear. Garrison and Tier 3 Apexis gear are my only hopes now to gear up after hitting Level 100.
2. Goodbye dailies. Most of these, involve you to grind grind grind… did I mention grind? UGH!!

The first thing is quite serious(for me). With the removal of Valor and Justice points(with Gold replacing them), this pretty much makes Mr.Robot not as useful for gearing up of “Ding Level 100!” endgame content.
Though, however, they have simplified it enough for me to figure out what stats I need to survive(having only BM gear when picking up a thing of Mail armor is very helpful).

That’s not to say Mr.Robot won’t be completely void of use. What it’ll be able to do for me now, is tell me what things I need to get enchanted and gemmed(reforging is also gone).
This is actually good news…IF it utilizes ones of the Enchanting building of your Garrison(don’t see why not, if they’re smart). Gems, even they can be made in your Garrison if you have the building. Hopefully Mr.Robot will too, use these as an “alternative”.

In other words, I can see myself utilizing my Garrison, a lot when I hit Level 100 on Live.

.
And the second thing. What I mean is, the only way to get most factions to Exalted is to do Level 100 content in their zones. For example, in the Spires of Arak, you have to kill lots of the Adherents. What’s strange, is it never mentions dungeon content also being a way to get rep. I guess Blizzard thinks it’s plainly obvious that you can.

does have positive sides. No dailies means, no limits. It’s how far you want to grind(or can deal with people taking your kills). Still, there should be other ways to get rep in bunches instead of grinded for. As in, drops that will give rep when turned in.
Maybe they will in a future patch. Or, maybe they’ll think of something before launch.

BlizzCon 2014 schedule unveiled

Today, MMO-Champion was nice enough to show BlizzCon’s schedules (for the people that are actually going there). Ridiculous.. $15 a day parking. That doesn’t even include gas to drive from Indiana to California. Then you got food, then a hotel room once you get there. Though, you could just fly there and then use a rental car to get to one of the expensive parking lots, and then take a public shuttle to BlizzCon.
Fortunately for people like me that are interested in BlizzCon yet don’t have the means to get there, the Virtual Ticket is still available. So you’ll be able to see a Live Stream of BlizzCon from the comfort of your house.
Plus, I believe DirecTV once again will be showing BlizzCon. Though, if it’s anything that I went through in 2011, where I paid $40, yet DirecTV didn’t seem to notice this, and still had to watch it on the Live Stream… it’s not worth the hassle.

Going back to the point of this post. From what I’m reading of the schedules of the 7th and 8th, it shows the 7th being mostly about Starcraft 2, Hearthstone, Heroes of The Storm, and Diablo 3(mainly, championship rounds). And the 8th, is when there’s a few WoW-related events.
So it’s likely, this year’s BlizzCon isn’t going to have anything really exciting, other than maybe the mention of this “Warcraft Movie” they said back last year.

However, there’s rumors, and they are many, that Blizzard may be hiding something WoW-related on Friday and won’t unveil it until during BlizzCon. Maybe to announce the next expansion, before even releasing WoD? Lol.. if you believe that, you’re an idiot. I doubt any major announcements are going to be planned. Not until either 2015 or 2016.

So anyway, here’s all the WoW activities I’m reading. Times have been converted from PST to EST(minus the hour due to DST ending in early November);

November 7th(Friday);
2pm-2:45pm: BlizzCon 2014 Opening Ceremonies
2:45pm-7:15pm: The WoW Championship Matches (for people that care about that)
5:15pm-6:15pm: Talk about the “Warcraft Movie” they mentioned in BlizzCon 2013.
7:15pm-8:45pm: Talk about changes coming in WoD. Items, Class Changes,
Garrisons. Stuff we already know.
And that’s all the stuff they’ll possibly live stream. There’s a few other WoW-related things, but you’d have to be there to see them. Such as the voiceovers of WoD, and getting autographs from the devs.

November 8th(Saturday);
1pm-2pm: The WoW Live Raid. Saw this in 2011. Two high-ranking PvE raids will try to complete a Heroic dungeon the fastest. I would imagine this being Heroic SoO.
1pm-3pm: WoW Championship Semifinals.
3pm-4:15pm: WoW Championship Finals. The best of the best.
5:15pm-6:15pm: Discussion of the climatic of WoD. And bringing back the heated discussion of no flying in Draenor. 😛
6:30pm-7:30pm: WoD Q&A. The main reason I wanna go to BlizzCon so badly.
9:30pm-12:00am(November 9th (Sunday)): BlizzCon 2014 Closing Ceremonies

That’s about it. I do find this “Warcraft Movie” interesting. Hope it becomes a real thing that we’ll eventually be able to watch on DVD.
And of course, the Q&A. Though it’s a real shame you have to be there and can’t submit your questions on Twitter or something, like the Live Q&A they had in late August.

Rise of The Triad – A ludicrous game!

To say you wish to bring back the past, is ludicrous. But Apogee didn’t listen and brought back to life, one of my old classic FPS games of the 90’s(way before VGA graphics cards were called GPUs, and 56k Modems to connect to the internet were all the rage). The game of guts, glory, spinning and moving blade traps, fireball traps, moving circular platforms, and of course.. lots and lots of gore!
None other than… drumroll please. *drumrolls*
Rise of The Triad! This rebooted version brings the graphics of the 90’s into the 21st century.
This features revamped music that closely follows the music of the 90’s, the same weapons (Bazooka, Drunk Missile, MP40, etc…), and redone enemies using the same aggro sounds such as “Outsider!”
And as a bonus, there is a Classic Mode that enables the music from the 90’s.

And that’s.. about all I can say! Did you really expect a lengthy blog post? Only than it was available for free on Steam last weekend, and it’s only $3.74. And it has a lot of funny achievements, such as teabagging everyone you meet, teabagging in Dog Mode, and teabagging gibbed enemy heads.
Because we all know teabagging was a great way to show humiliation in the 90’s.. and sadly hasn’t died off yet.

The Pre-WoD questline is not a good way to promote the expansion

Today, I was hoping to finally check out the Pre-WoD questline on the PTR. Yesterday evening, I decided to shift from “I want to see if I can handle it” to “I want to see if this is worth the money”(due to Character Copy being down for weeks) and made a premade Level 90. This pretty much re-created Benietest.
Found out by having a premade, I have nearly every mount in the game, and all the Collector’s Edition pets dating back from Cata(so yeah, I had my greatest enemy in all of Azeroth as a pet).
I had spent 30 minutes, flying to ‘my house’ in Northeast Hillsbard Foothills(Dandard’s Fold), near Undercity. Getting there, I spent the remainder of that 30 minutes to redo my bars to be like Benie on the WoD Beta.

Going back to today, I logged in. And within 5 seconds after doing so.. ‘[SERVER] Shutdown in 15:00′ started spamming my chat window. A beta build… on a SATURDAY?! They’re fucking pushing my patience!
Thankfully, it only lasted for nearly 6 hours instead of 8, and the servers went back up before my dinnertime. Either this build didn’t have a lot of content in it, or they took pity on us for having to endure… what was it? 7 builds this week? Eesh.
They say to expect this to be even more of a nuisance as they’re trying to get a release candidate ready before the final two weeks. So, it’s crunch time for them.

Anyway, after dinner, I noticed Lil’ Deathwing was no longer a selectable pet. Strange, as they gave me him. Oh well. I then flew to the Blasted Lands on Mr. “I hate Tanks, they go NERF!”; aka the Celestalon-like Cloud Serpent mount.
What bothered me, is the fact I just got this quest to go talk to Maraad out of nowhere. I had a feeling the questline was going to be unfinished.

I was right, and then some. In the rain over Blasted Lands, I had to wait for my PvP flag to clear due to the way PTR handles servers. Then I landed and started questing. All of them felt boring and stale. There’s four ‘bosses’ who seem to have the same HP than Elites on the Timeless Isle, and it takes 2-3 minutes to take them down solo. Remind you, I’m using a premade Level 90 with the best fucking gear you can get for a Hunter(outside of the 5.4 content). If it’s taking this long to down them, think about how long it’ll take to down them with my current Level 90…

The questline abruptly ends after talking to the King of SW. No “Benie, the time is now to assault the Iron Horde. Get back to the Blasted Lands.. I’m putting you on a Suicide Mission! You are to plunge through the portal!”
All you get out of that, is a pet. Woopy do.

.
Made a thread about this on the PTR Forum. Several hours later, I get a response from a guy telling me, this is the pre-launch event and not the real thing. Could had sworn I heard from Blizzard or another trusted source, that this questline is going to be required to get to the portal.

Why WoD is like Bioshock Infinite

I’ve been watching Nobbel87’s latest Q&A last night, to the point it was 5 in the morning and needed to get to bed. He did it different this time, doing it live by grabbing questions from Twitch.

One of the questions was quite interesting, asking if Blizzard wants to do this alternate reality bullshit, if it means that anything is possible. The guy adds on by saying why didn’t they just go back and rewrite history that Garrosh doesn’t get defeated in SoO.
He says that it is possible. Then he starts talking like he was talking about the mindfuck ending of Bioshock Infinite.
This had me thinking.
They could had gone back to before Azeroth even existed and changed it to where the Titans never created the planet. But that would be boring.
They could had gone back to before Deathwing got defeated by you and Thrall and actually had him survive the third blow of the Dragon Soul. That is possible.
