Freedom Isle server mega-exploration trip – Exodus (Day 2)

The more I explore, the more abandoned deeds I find. Some are downright shocking of how nice their locations are. And I think it’s because of kchat’s quietness. And when they aren’t quiet, they..well, it’s not that they’re being assholes to eachother, it’s..I wasn’t really seeing any friendly in their conversations. Exodus is proving to be an unfriendly (inhospitable) place.
Even Indy is nicer (for the most part) than this. I only hope things will change for the better when it’s time to explore by horseback.
Oh yes. Two other things. Fog Spiders will no longer spawn on deeds, and lamps can now be planted inside fences(with a new “Plant in corner” option)! The first thing is awesome. So now I can just wait out the fog in a deed and not feel exposed.

Starting from where I left off, no mobs were around me. I was able to get back in my boat and lead the horse away, continuing going counter-clockwise around the coast. There is another reason I go counter-clockwise like this, as the sail and the rigging of a Knarr is on the left side. Yet on the right side has nothing blocking pictures from being taken.
Though this large expanse of ocean, I saw nothing really interesting. Just more abandoned deeds. There was this pretty cool pointy mountain called ‘Wolf Mountain’. I saw a hut on the side of it, proving it can be accessed on foot. Infact a lot of these mountain peaks can be accessed. That’s interesting.
Now on the West coast (but going by ‘Wolf Island’), I found a ‘market’ that didn’t even have merchant stalls. What a joke.
Soon I was going further inland again in a large bay. Continued to follow my marked out path through a few lakes. Saw a section of a marble bridge under construction. I’m amazed how well the planning is defying gravity like that.

With Sol going down and seeing a guard tower on a hill above a canal, I went for it after spinning around in the lake. Had to use the horse to reach it. In the area is a deed called ‘Breannah’. I didn’t know this deed would cause me issues later on(from my lack of knowledge).
In the deed, there was a single spirit guard. I thought that this is perfect. If a troll shows up when I get back, it’ll help get the thing off me. Tried to see if I could lead and ride while in the deed, and I was able to. So I assume I would have no problem later on.

Later on, came. Tried to lead the horse… no ‘Lead’ option. So much for assuming, huh? I looked around for any other animals off the deed in order to re-tame the horse, thinking I would have the option there. Yet it would’ve been pointless anyway as the owner of the deed blocked the option to Tame.
My only other option was to frantically ask in CA HELP if there was a way for a GM to get the horse off the deed in order for me to lead it, and was told “I doubt it”. Was also told I would need to provide proof…somehow. And even one telling me “looks like you’ll have to find another horse”. FUCK YOU!! I am NOT leaving 2.5s in equipment behind because of an asshole mechanic!
I decided to send a support ticket anyway, praying there was still a kind person that would do it. But it was getting closer and closer of needing to get off and eat. I asked kchat if they knew of the owner or anyone of their Alliance(thinking the GM wasn’t going to show up in time). Yet three minutes after “You let out heavy curses over the settlement token”, I saw “An aged horse now follows Forsete”.
Flipped to Local and saw someone in a yellow-colored name(a GM), and the person also PM’d me. The person lead the horse off of the deed, allowing me to lead and ride it again. Thank CHRIST there are kind GMs!!
I assume the GM possibly read what I said in CA HELP (even reading everything I had said in Local, possibly including my “FUCK THIS GAME!!!!” outburst).

Of course I greatly thanked the GM (disguised as a white horse). Was told about branding. Sure. Let me bring my OWN FUCKING HORSE cross-server with me that IS branded, and we’ll talk!! Their response was “have fun :)” and disappears, leaving me with seeing a Support tab every time I log in for the next two weeks.
So, I cannot log out on a deed for an extended period of time. If I dismount while on a deed, I only have a few minutes to be able to re-lead. That means if it’s foggy (and RL is calling that I have to log out), I have to find a guard tower off-deed and pray nothing happens.
I assume this proves, no one explores on horseback (that their horse isn’t branded by them or a friend/alt of theirs).

That costed me a lot of time. Though with Sol taking longer and longer to rise, it’s hard to tell anymore if there’s time being wasted.
Back in, with no more horse-related issues.. well, I’ll be frank. I’ll save you the rest of the journey as this server has put a bad taste in my mouth. Not only is it extremely taxing on my low-end CPU(to the point I wish I had the $400 or whatever I need to replace whatever I have to, to make my gameplay much more enjoyable than 5-15FPS in some areas), there’s hardly anything that really caught my eye.

But here’s what did(in order since last time);
-Seeing a huge gathering of cows/bulls, and sheep on the bottom of a mountain.
-Having someone suddenly RP with me in Local as I was leaving a bay, saying “no dragons allowed, or the heads of them”. I didn’t realize this at all. This person is actually RPing as a dragon (without having ‘dragon’ in their name). I’ll be DAMN!
-Seeing an array of arch bridges attempting to go at an angle to a deed.
-Killing my first bearshark.
-Saw a Statue of Vyrona inside a mountain, as if it was carved out of the mountain.
-Passing by a canal with a large farm next to it, reminded me of Black Dog Canal in Indy (in the past).
-Passed through a strange canal with a very large castle on the side. This thing made my FPS tank to 6.
-Checked out the ‘Sandhill Market'(accessed from accessing multiple canals). Let’s say it had more merchants than I’ve seen from other ‘markets’ of this server. Though it pales in comparison to Deliverance Keep.
-Managed to access Esert(Exodus’ new player spawnpoint) via a pretty cool-looking canal. Esert itself is… well it has nice rolling hills, but besides a few buildings(and a Pumpkin farm), there’s really nothing there. Was told the area used to have a pretty large market, and now it’s gone.
-Found a flatraise fail of one of the sides of a Grass tile, rose up to form as a spire.

And that’s all I really saw. Yes, a few of those happened to me instead of something I saw. Plus, I feel instead of heading to the next server (Celebration) after I get done with exploring…I’m going to be forced to go back home. And it won’t be because of the change of seasons or that I forgot something, it’ll be to beg people to re-imp my gear. Which is going, to cost a LOT of silver (that I don’t have) in order to make sure I still kill with 70QL gear.
And it probably won’t stop there. Ohhhh no. Those horseshoes, and the saddle? They too will need to be re-imped. Because fuck me for not knowing someone willing to imp for free.

Sure, I can just re-imp them myself. But I…I cannot see myself mindlessly grinding infront of a forge all day in order to eventually get up to that level (which will take several months). So either I get over my hate of how grindy the crafting system is, or find a way to make money in order to afford re-imps to be able to explore safely.
People are going to get filthy rich, where I would just get poorer and poorer (all because of my hate for the crafting system).

Anyway, I made it back to where I started. Tomorrow, I’ll be exploring the server on horseback.

Freedom Isle server mega-exploration trip – Exodus (Day 1)

[17:14:58] You plot a course to Exodus.

Onto Exodus I go as I restart the series of exploring all the servers of the Freedom Isles! Sol rose at 5pm, and I had an issue trying to find my shovel. B2 found it still in my coffin under ‘iron shovel’ instead of ‘shovel’.
Leaving, I had a crock biting my tail on the way down the side ramp. Got my tower guards on it and I assisted in its demise. Had to deal with a west wind in my face as I plotted a course, going NW to circumvent it.

Arriving in Exodus, I continued west to where the Del/Exo Boat Bridge is. A word of warning is the “latest” maps of the server are 1&1/4 years old. :/
Made it to the landing, and.. it was rather disappointing. There are a few deeds around it (one named ‘Serenity’), and I see a guard tower. But nothing at the landing. Thankfully after quite a lot of searching, I found a large animal pen that’s unlocked. Going to use this as my safe haven once it’s time to switch from my boat to a horse for exploration.

I also found out, Solrise and Solset have been completely reversed on me. Sol is going to set at 6:50pm.. which is the time it rose before. How in the fuck did that happen?!
But it’s good that it did. I don’t have to race to get done eating. But it does mean an hour less that I have to explore during the daytime.
At 8pm, it’ll be time to explore. Going to go clockwise. I do question if going by horseback later is a good idea (with how old the map is). I’ll ask the locals if there’s a more updated version (at least one made last year).

After getting back, I asked. The response wasn’t anywhere kind as what I got on Deli; infact it was quite bad. This person named ‘Szai’ who had quite the attitude to newcomers of the server, basically told me to check the forum. Someone gave me a link to the updated map, but Szai continued saying “sorry i wasnt going to teach you how to navigate forums”.
I fired back, saying “Do you treat all newcomers to this server like that? All I asked was an updated map. I didn’t know about the forum.” They never responded (though I assume “whatever, n00b” or something like it). And really, I didn’t know I have to check the forum instead of being provided a link to it in the Wurmpedia (why in the FUCK is there NOT?!).
Nevertheless, I did my best not to let this asshole ruin my exploration fun.

Never really saw anything that has popped out at me on the North coast (except from seeing a large castle). Got to the East coast and went through an area called ‘Ultima Bay’. Nothing mind-blowing (or even interesting) there either, but I did find an Aged horse swimming in the bay that I quickly lead. Though taming it would come much later, as I forgot I needed a sickle to be able to have the ‘Cut grass’ option when right clicking on a Grass tile.
Had to drop the horse off at an abandoned deed infront of the Exo/Xan Boat Bridge, and went back home as I had also forgotten the bad thing of B2 giving me all of his money.. he cannot mail me what I need as he needs 1c per item to do it. Thankfully I was close enough to the NE coast of the server, that it wasn’t really a big deal of going back. Yes it set me back a bit from exploring, but no biggy. I got more than enough time.

Got back home and grabbed my sickle and toolbelt (as I had also forgotten about it). Before leaving home(again), I tested to see if it was truly the sickle that gets mixed grass (which can be used to tame animals). And indeed I was right. Went back to Exo and back to where I was, thinking the horse was gone. But I knew of another horse swimming nearby if that was the case. But when I got back, the horse was exactly where I had left it!
It took four attempts to tame the horse, and I had it. Was able to equip it with the enchanted horseshoes and saddle, and took it on a test drive…..WOW! It’s managing to maintain 25-26km/h for a long time!! Looks like that 2.5s I paid for enchantments, is paying for itself. Glad it was worth the money.
There was also a PPP (Perfectly Placed Pig) next to the horse that I was able to tame with three mixed grass(had to harvest some more). With the pig tamed, the horse won’t be targeted anymore(as it’s not tamed).
Before I lead the pig to its demise of any nearby mobs, I got it ready for the slaughter by grooming it. Took several times to get it. Also noticed I can Groom while mounted. Very cool. I can even groom the horse (it’s a She and looks just like Flashsilver) while sitting on it. Pretty awkward, but when it works I’ll take it.

There was a troll nearby. Ran past it and ‘snapped the line’ by un-leading the pig. Watched the troll turn it into bacon. That would’ve been this horse if I didn’t untame it.
RIP Pig. It was a vern, so it was going to die anyway. Plus it died for a great cause. 🙂
This is awesome, though. Fast horse, and I don’t feel I need to go back to where I found it once I’m done exploring. I can just tame it, unequip everything, and leave it for dead. It’s a wild horse, so who’s going to care if it dies?

Logged off next to a guard tower in the area. With the saddle, I don’t have to worry about finding a place to stick the horse(so it won’t roam). As a bonus, I can get some amazing screenshots from the top of mountains (without having to worry about the horse roaming). Techinically I own it now.
Since we can’t bring our horses cross-server, I can still bring enchanted horse gear over to claim one. Just amazed how fast it is. It felt like a 3-speed without the gear.

With Sol now up once again, I finally set sail and get full-on exploring the server ‘for realsies’ (with a horse in tow). I was kind of offered one by someone earlier. But when I said “I don’t wish to pay”, they stopped talking to me. 😛
Another thing, this new map I got? Holy HELL is it awesome! It’s not just an image; you can interact with it! I can even draw a path to follow to explore the server by boat (fucking fantastic). I can also go into Zoom Mode, and have pinpoint accuracy of seeing all the roads on the map! That will be extremely useful when exploring on horseback.

Anyway, glad I got a horse now. Continued snaking my way around the East coast. There was a large section just south of my position with… lots of abandoned deeds. Several of them were prime candidates for moving in, but I ended up narrowing it to two ‘POTENTIAL deed moving spot’ points. One of them had a Knarr next to it, yet when I checked who owns it, the boat was highly decayed. So, I’m to assume this person doesn’t play anymore (plus there’s no deed or buildings to worry about).
Fine places. Plat as a pancake, LOTS of room, and next to the ocean. Though with how..eerily quiet kchat has been for the remainder of this trip, I dunno if moving in is a good idea. Exodus.. feels like it’s a ‘dying’ server.
I like my privacy, sure. But I also like interacting with others (humans are social creatures). And with no one to talk to, I dunno.

Though I did see the server trying to ‘cling to life’ of one extravagant village. This thing, reminded me of Green Dog on Deli(except in a smaller scale, and a lot more trees). Having 1 tile trenches with several bridges leading into the deed. Damn cool. Can’t wait to explore it on horseback!
I still remember a certain undeeded house on the West coast of JK-H (Gold 2), that had a 1-tile trench that cut into the ground and lead to the house. I’ve wanted to do that with my deed for YEARS…

My journey eventually had to pause once again (with Sol setting) on a small, inhabited island just off the Southeast coast. Coming back on(Sol is now rising three minutes later than it did before), I was challenged by several mobs. Thankfully, they weren’t anything I couldn’t handle. 5 -VS- 1? Killed them all. FEAR the Dragon Warrior! 🙂
“You tailswipe Aged huge spider extremely hard at the head and damage it.” (If only)
Now on the South coast. The person that was going to ‘offer’ me a horse also told me to check this side of the server for a place to move. I honestly haven’t seen anything that caught my eye (yet).
Reached the point on the map where I drew. Due to multiple canals and bays on the South and West coasts, I often go around them counter-clockwise(to continue clockwise of the mainland). As I said, this proved to be a real challenge(due to so many canals). But I got a great plan set up. I just hope it stays on the map after I log for the night.

Speaking of logging, because of no guard towers anywhere on the coast (of “Skeleton Desert”..though IMO it should be “Scorpion Desert” with the number of scorps), I managed to find a one tile flatriased section with a single pillar in the middle of the ‘Bunny Sea’. The only threat I have here is any swimming mob. Though I doubt any would spawn here as it’s too far from the mainland.

Freedom Isle server mega-exploration trip (Restarting (2))

So while I was off the server, Smilingcat enchanted my saddle. Sadly I didn’t get a discount; still had to pay 50c more. Bitch. 😛
Plus, I lost 1QL (because the item had to be repaired to enchant). I’m just glad it managed to get enchanted without shattering.

Next, Sol’s rise and set times have changed on me once again. It’s now setting and rising an hour earlier. Which means around 4:50pm EST it’ll rise. So that means I’ll be departing from home at around 4:40pm. This is good, as it gives me a few hours until dinnertime.

Speaking of ‘dinner’, I watched Direwolf20’s latest video while waiting. I now see how he’s able to auto-craft food from Pam’s Harvestcraft. It’s a mod that was added last month that adds real life food that can be crafted in Minecraft(as an alternative to bread/carrots/potatoes/etc that comes from Vanilla Minecraft).
Anyway, he was able to use Refined Storage to craft Beef Wellington! That is AWESOME!! Because I thought you were going to need a complex setup of automated crafters making it all.
I want to make Tomato Soup, Grilled Cheese and Pizza (the typical food I eat IRL).

Anyway, soon I’ll be launching on another adventure in Wurm!

Freedom Isle server mega-exploration trip (Restarting)

According to Wurm Clock, yesterday was the first full day of Wurm Spring. Yet with a threat of severe weather (which thankfully never really happened…but wow did the South get rekt with multiple tornado warnings), and getting myself back into modded Minecraft (I’ve gotten over my self-imposed fear of losing my work), are the reasons why I didn’t start.

So I’m back on. Though I should had come on earlier in the month and asked to get my horseshoes and saddle enchanted to at least 70 WoA. With that QL and that speed, any horse I tame, equip, and then untame by taming another horse, will be very fast. No more of this constant “4-speed acting like a 5-speed” business.
Also while I’m over at Exodus, I was recommended to Groom any passive mob I see to get my Animal Husbandry skill up (in order to start seeing traits of horses).

Now I did end up getting a new set of 70QL Horseshoes at 70WoA by an “Elska”. They told me it’s actually (somewhat) cheaper to have them made, instead of getting my existing items enchanted (as I could get a discount). Though when they tried to enchant a new saddle, it shattered. I was referred to a person I remember meeting during my ‘Indy Romp’; “Smilingcat”, to send my saddle.
Personally, it didn’t feel like a ‘discount’ at all. I was told that pricing is 50-70c per item, so I ended up paying 2s. Thankfully I was ready for it, with B2 giving me all of his money in the bank.
And now I’m probably going to have to pay more to get my saddle enchanted (IF it too doesn’t shatter.. if it does, I’m fucked as it’s my only one, and it’ll set me back more).

I hope Smilingcat is able to give it to me for free (aka the “discount”). A ‘discount’ should be 50c off, or ‘buy three get one free'(like those tire commercials.. with the ‘tire’ being a horseshoe).
I was able to send her(Smilingcat) a PM on the Wurm Forum (since I rather go back to modded Minecraft instead of waiting all day for her to log in). I even asked her to message me in it to arrange this.

.
Lastly, I got a new addition to the deed– an ‘active wild bee hive’ growing on a Maple Tree near the main ramp. I didn’t know these things spawned in.
Feels like another sign. At least this one can’t kill me in three hits (with a full set of Studded) and breaths fire. But since I haven’t even messed with bees (memories of how boring they are in modded Minecraft), I think I’m just going to leave it alone.
The damn thing even stung me when I tried to Open it. Got a nice sting of poison to my head.
Learned they act just like typical wounds, and will heal on their own if they’re Light or lower in damage. That’s good, as I hear the only way to heal anything worse is using Farmer’s Salve (and I dunno how to make it).

So… hopefully I can set sail for Exodus. How soon, again, depends on what happens to my saddle. Will it be a 50/50 chance like Elska had? Hope not. I don’t wanna have to go to FM, just to buy a replacement saddle. Though I imagine if worst comes to worst, I would be compensated with a new saddle from them.
However..the more I think about it, I feel she would see it as “it’s not my fault if it shatters, it’s your fault for trusting the RNG. So why should I compensate you, when you knew the risks?”…. and that sadly would be true. It sucks monkey balls, but it’s also.. business. There is no insurance in this game– therefore she’s not liable if something goes wrong.

I feel I’m going to be treated like a typical client by her. No discounts. No compensation if the saddle shatters.

My thoughts on Mass Effect: Andromeda (and Minecraft)

I’ve been getting questions about what’s been going on. Two of these I’m going to address here in a mini Q&A.
First question, is I’m being asked what are my thoughts about the upcoming game to join the Mass Effect series. Well, I’m glad you’re asking my opinion instead of doing the same thing that many people on Youtube are doing; analyzing the three cinematic trailers that Bioware have released.

I feel it’s not enough to really make me feel that hype to want it. There’s what.. a month and a half until the release and there’s been very little videos involving gameplay? It makes me feel that a delay of the release date is likely, and could be possibly pushed back to..say, July maybe?

The whole “Andromeda Initiative” plot feels so stupid and lazy(and a bad attempt of keeping the series alive). Why bother going to another galaxy to get resources and transport them back to our galaxy? What’s wrong with the Milky Way?
Plus, how in the hell do we possibly have the technology (or even the knowledge) to be able to travel between galaxies? This is in the late 21st century. Even in Elite: Dangerous(in the 34th century), we don’t have ships capable of doing this. Even the capital ships don’t have the FDL technology to make this possible.
Yes, both games are set in two different timelines and cannot criss-cross eachother. It was an example.

This feels like something else is going on behind the scenes of the plot. This feels way more sinister, and I feel it has Cerberus’ name written all over it. They brought Shepard back to life in Mass Effect 2, so why not fund the technology to travel the local cluster? It makes perfect sense. But..why? What would they get out of this? Good question. I wish I had an answer (or even a thought for a theory) for it.

Overall, I hope to see more gameplay footage. As to if I’m going to purchase it on Day 1, no. And I doubt they’re going to send me a review copy (as I’m just not known nor popular enough for these companies to treat my reviews with respect).

.
.
Moving onto the second, people have been wondering if I still play Modded Minecraft (mainly the Direwolf20 pack). To those people, I haven’t played since last year. I’ve been meaning to play, but a few things are pushing me away..and with good reason.

One of the main things is the loss of three days of work for no reason whatsoever. This was during the time I needed to replace my failing D drive. For some reason, the work I did when Minecraft was on my E drive, never got saved. And so I lost all of that work. And that work involved setting up a large wall of StorageDrawers. I even had a .txt file of how I wanted them set up.
It’s gone too.

The second is the unstable nature of using Chisels and Bits while trying to find the command to do a manual backup.. instead it corrupts the save, losing even MORE work.

So yeah. Since then, I’ve been “I don’t want to lose my work again. I don’t trust it anymore!” Yes I was using an unstable build, but I’ve NEVER had that happen to me. I was finally working on making a proper roof for my base, and it caused my save to go corrupted after trying to do a manual backup. I’m scared to use Chisels and Bits now.
I did decrease the time it takes to do an automatic backup to something like 10 minutes(it was two hours before), but I fear “why bother if I’m going to lose three days of work?” I got no one to help get me back to speed this time (or to assure me it was just a fluke).
And yes I know I’m lucky I didn’t lose a lot more, but I just wish I had -some- feeling of “this isn’t going to happen again”.

What happened, makes ZERO sense. How can I fucking LOSE a save, when I know it did save and it was there?? Even checked both saves on the D and E drives, and they were both the same size and date. My guess is the modified one was still on my D drive(and I overwrote it by accident with the version three days ago)..yet I’m 100% sure I was working on it on my E drive, and did fully save it. How can I just lose a save like that?
I even checked a program called Undelete to scan for the modified file, hoping it would also check to see if the file was overwritten before… and I found nothing. No traces.

Clearly I need to get over my fear one of these days and just..do it. Try to see if it does happen again. And if it does, then…… I dunno. Maybe I might consider myself “done” until the next modpack from dire. But if it doesn’t, then I’ll have the strength to continue. Though I just need to re-remember what I had wrote down of what I wanted to be placed in the StorageDrawers wall.

PS+ free game lineup for the PS4 (February 2017)

So here’s the free game lineup for Playstation+ subscribers (for the PS4). Funny, one of these two games I already own and have done a review on.

The games are;
Little Big Planet 3 (read my 2015 review of this game here)
Not a Hero

The second one makes me sigh in anger, of reading that it’s “fast-paced”. Does remind me of Broforce (and games like it). I just hope deaths (and there would be many) aren’t punishing.
But there you go. When I have time, I’ll review the second game.

New games to review in 2017 (Gamefly queue list updated)

Just a heads up. I’ve added more games to my Gamefly Queue. As always, it’s up to their system and availability of said game to deliver them to me.
This list is just to show that I’m still doing reviews(when I’m not playing heavily-interested games like Wurm that take up a lot of my time), though obviously slower in frequency than normal.

And here’s the list, as of now;
1. The Last Guardian {Want to review this BADLY…}
2. Dishonored 2 {Want to review this BADLY…}
3. Horizon Zero Dawn (coming February 28th){Because robot dinosaurs}
4. Watch Dogs 1
5. Watch Dogs 2
6. Mass Effect: Andromeda (coming March 21st)
7. Dragon Quest Builders
8. Yooka-Lalee (coming April 11th)
10. LEGO Worlds[PS4 Edition] (coming March 7th)
11. ABZÈ–
12. RiME (coming May 9th)
13. Detroit: Become Human (coming sometime this year)
-(Older games)-
14. The Last of Us Remastered
15. Megaman Legacy Collection
16. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan
17. Rise of the Tomb Raider
18. INFAMOUS: Second Son
19. Hitman: Enter a World of Assassination
20. PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2
21. Minecraft: Story Mode[The Complete Adventure]
22. Overcooked!: Gourmet Edition
23. Tale of Two Brothers

As you can see, this year is going to be busy (and fun) for me, trying out these new (and aged games I never did a review on). Plus there’s also upcoming PS+ games to review (with some coming as early as this Tuesday).

Have a suggestion for a game you wanna see me review? Before you send me an email, please don’t suggest the following;
-Multiplayer only games. (I only review Single Player games)
-Anime games. (Personal taste)
-Horror games. (IE: Resident Evil 7)
-Survival games. (Personal taste)
-Preschool-targeted games. (No “Let’s learn numbers!” games..)
-Games that require more than a controller to run.
-Sports games. (Personal taste)
-Playstation VR/Pro games. (I cannot play these as I have a standard PS4)
-“Game Title: #” games (Unless the original game’s knowledge isn’t required to understand the plot and stuff)

I’m sending Ratchet & Clank and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst back as I speak. So by the end of the week, I’ll likely be reviewing Dishonored 2 as it has High Availability.

Main Character: Reynardo, the fox. Intelligent, brave, and quite skilled in melee combat against multiple opponents. He was once an infamous thief who plundered the Floating Isles, but his dying mother managed to convince him in changing his ways instead of being executed for his crimes.
Meanwhile, the once good frog Emperor had gone corrupted for some reason (due to the Imperial Raven Army). The Ravens wanted to steal powerful books from a library, but when they refused, the librarians were burned.
And now ‘The Kid’ has one of these books and wants to join the rebels. Reynardo’s mother asked him to protect the kid (yet never mentioned about the book for some odd reason). And he promised he would.

Side Characters: “The Kid”, a young yet stubborn rabbit in possession of one of the books of power. Reynardo swore to his mother that he would protect him, yet never mentioned the book was powerful (I assume to keep him to go back to his thieving ways).

Enemies: The Ravens, working for the corrupted Emperor. They start off as melee soldiers, and then you have Warlocks, explosive ravens, and ravens with shields. The only way to defeat them is with a sword (or by throwing them off a ledge, as they lost their ability to fly… because “reasons”).
However, they have the ability to teleport into a specific part of the level to ambush the player, forcing them into combat until all enemies are defeated.

Combat/Health System: Reynardo mainly uses melee attacks against his enemies, starting with a basic sword and upgrading to a ‘Hero Sword’. Other magical-based swords are unlocked by looting blue-colored chests and gathering enough resources. The player can also collect Gems to socket to Reynardo’s gauntlet(up to three). Yet at this time I don’t know where the player can find them. I assume the bigger chests.
The player can gather up combo points, and countering when required. After all enemies are dead, how the player did in battle is tallied up in points, with an additional 300 “Perfect” points if the player isn’t hit during combat.
Reynardo can also re-learn his old training by vising shrines to unlock talents.
.
Healing works by breaking open boxes, vases and other breakables to collect 20 health. Though all breakables are RNG-based, even including some Ore to make the swords. Later on, the Hero Sword has an ability to heal the player as long as a certain button is pressed. The power for this ability will not recharge and can also be found in these breakables.
As of this time, the only death penalty I see is the player has to restart any combat areas they haven’t done, all over again.

Maps/Levels/Chapters: Every level has multiple paths that lead to their own sections. There’s no way to explore every area of a level because of this restrictive level design.

.
What I liked;
-The game’s playstyle can change at an instant via a ‘game changer’; multiple choice routes. So no two games are the same.
-Some of the narrator’s jokes are pretty good. Others, not so much. Just adds a bit of life to the game.
-Every level can be revisited to access doors the player was able to before (by not having the required sword).

What I didn’t like;
-Ridiculously long loading times at the start.
-The player cannot jump. I thought we were done with this kind of gameplay in the 80’s.
-Restricted level design (cannot revisit sections of a level via these magical moving platforms, after the player has used them).
-I managed to get myself stuck in the ground once, with no way to get out…

Final Opinions/Thoughts;
I must say, this is a pretty good game. Though my initial reactions were negative with a very long (20 second) loading time, the rest were about close to 10 seconds which isn’t too bad.
The narrator fits with the overall story, and so do the drawed-in graphics (which I find a nice touch). The characters were well-made and their voice acting and dialog is pretty good.

The only main thing I disliked was that the player cannot go back to previously explored areas (without completing the story and then possibly re-doing it and then taking another path). This to me feels like the developers hoped the player will play long enough to explore everything (aka replayability).

The combat system is easy to get used to and master (just counter everytime you see one of the enemies with a ‘!’ above their head).
Overall, I do enjoy the backstory was explained well enough to get why the main protagonist was doing before the main game. I feel the developers did a great job here, and I recommend the game to anyone wanting to fill that multiple-choice playthrough itch.

Freedom Isle server mega-exploration trip – Deliverance (Day 6)

The final day, and I’m writing this from back home in Oceanside Retreat on Indy. My trip is now on hold until February 8th(two weeks from now). So this final day ended with a bang of exploring the biggest thing of the server (that was literally right under my feet), shown to me by one guy..who built all of it.
Logged in next to the guard tower (except next to my tent instead of inside of it). I expected to see a family of trolls awaiting my login, and then immediately smash my brains out with their clubs(perhaps it was a nightmare). Thankfully there was no hostiles around me. Packed up camp and got back on my horse.
But looking around also revealed something else, that I didn’t see at first. I saw this welcoming area. It looked…perfect. It looked like it was speaking to me, and I just couldn’t stop thinking about how nice it looks. Marked it as a potential, and as a potential reason to reconsider moving to Deli. Plus it already has a guard tower.. AND it’s not near any other deeds!
The only issue I see, is it has that highway infront of the area. So if I wanted an interior boat dock? That’s out of the question. I would have to get approval by the GMs in order to alter the road. That sucks. 😛

After going over that, I went over the map and saw that following this coastal lake road will get me to where I was teleported. More mobs tried to complicate the journey, but once again they were dealt with.
Finally reached the road. All it took was just going up north, and I reached roads I remembered traveling on foot(of Day 1). I even got my revenge on some of the mobs that chased me. There was also two trolls around where I had teleported in. Thank goodness they weren’t there when that thing happened.
So after exploring that, I felt there was only one last thing to see before it was time to go home, and that was this interesting underground road system on the map to the West of Mystic Lake. I had no idea it would be so, so much more than just this.
The way to access it was to go back south, and just follow the coast of Nightmare Lake to a town named ‘Wolf’s Den’.
Reached it, and saw the entrance. It wasn’t like the two mine entrances I saw with the colored tunnels. Lighted my lantern, since I’ve been used to lamps in mines not being lit (and no one really bothers to do it due to how fast they burn through their fuel).. anyway, I went in. I was expecting to see signs pointing to these tunnels. Halfway in, I did. However, there was a West tunnel that didn’t have a sign. Feeling adventurous, I turned right and followed it. This thing is ridiculously long(ladies.. 😉 …Erm, yeah. Sorry for the Az reference there).
Killed two lava fiends who were lurking in the tunnel(an Aged and a Venerable) and continued on..and so did this tunnel. Soon the tunnel had another long tunnel splitting off of it. Getting fed up with no direction, I turned back around and went to the signs. Arriving back, I tried to use the ones listed on the map.

The one that goes East to the lake, stopped way short of what it showed and ended in an area I have NO idea where I’m at. Wow. What is going ON HERE?! Why is the map so outdated??
Went back and tried to follow the South tunnel. This ended at a route going East and West… WHAT THE FUCK?! Anyway, decided to follow this ‘Wonderland’ sign(going West and following another sign South). This.. led me to this; a humongous underground cavern… I would say 5x the size of the mine to the north of my deed in Indy.
Confused as fuck on where I was, I saw this guy named “Theshawv” in local and asked them of where in the hell am I. After a bit of time, the guy responds (yet mainly responds in PMs).

What he said, blew my fucking mind. First off, he said the reason these other tunnels I saw that weren’t on the map, is because it’s not been worked on “since last year”. And as much as he told the person to change it, he never did. Then, he mentioned how it was “a very ugly picture of my tunnels“… WAIT. HE built ALL OF THIS?! That’s right! 😮
He has built, a huge underground network of tunnels right under Deliverance(which he calls his fast travel network)! WOAH. And here I was impressed of Renny’s work. Asked him how long he’s been working on this, and he says 5+ years. One guy, doing all of this. Fucking unbelievable. I wonder if his real name is Santa Claus, and this is what he’s doing when he’s not blowing minds being able to deliver toys to all the children in the world in one night.
He asked if I’ve seen his actual deed, Wonderland. Told him I dunno where it is as I felt semi-stuck down here. Didn’t realize I was directly under his deed. So he met me underground and let me topside. It’s so good to see daylight again!.. except it was getting dark. Gave me a brief tour of his place. Not bad. In the middle is a huge multi-leveled (but definitely incomplete) structure that he calls a castle.

Then he asked if I wanted to head to Deli Keep using the tunnel system. He also told me, below the deed has a secret lurking below it; a huge boat parking area. …DUDE!! Yes, I wanna see it! I did not expect to complete exploring the server like THIS!
Followed him through his extensive network of tunnels, his horse being much faster (and able to keep up with its speed) than the one I’m using. As he’s telling me where every tunnel goes and where all the exists are, I decided to do a side-project to figure out why his horse is sustaining its speed(besides him obviously having WoA on the horse’s horseshoes) by asking in CA HELP while I followed him.
Was told that WoA helps, but it doesn’t really help with the ‘fleeting’ ability a horse can have from needing to recharge. I then asked what else could I add that would help any horse be even faster, and was told the saddle also needs it (and how the QL matters as well(50-70QL or higher would give the best boosts)).
I also asked them about how this loner horse tends to be ‘fast'(23-25km/h), then goes ‘slow’ (16-20km/h) when on a flat road, and how it can suddenly drop down to going 12.24km/h without warning. This is because the horse does get hungry after long journeys, and to either feed it a crop or stand on a grass tile for it to graze for it to get back up to speed.
Yet I feel like, what’s the point(for exploration), when we can’t bring our horses cross-server? Though I’m sure people would argue of all the reasons there would be a point(such as getting around that specific server better).
Another thing I could do when it comes to these trips, is to bring enchanted horseshoes and a saddle to whatever horse I choose, tame it, equip it, and then find another horse to tame to untame it. That way the horse would be -technically- mine on that server, and I would get the best speed.
That would work. How well, remains to be seen.

Again as I’m doing this, I’m also following the guy on a slow horse. The journey ends upon reaching a cave-in. Thankfully there’s another way there. Followed him outside. It’s dark and my lantern is the only thing I can see. Suddenly as I’m trying to say something to him, the game starts to lag hard and disconnects me. Screaming at my cable modem to NOT be the reason, and it’s not. 15 or so seconds later, I’m able to log back in. Tell him I got D/C’d and he said it was “a hard crash”. So he too had the same thing happen to him.
Had to dismount, re-lead and ride in order for the horse to move again. He did the same thing, and I continued to follow him. I told him I’ve already been to the keep, but we were mainly going to see the underground boat dock.
He gave me a history of the keep, saying it took three years..to surface mine it. Woah! This keep was surface-mined?? Said it was one big rock face many years ago, showing me proof of the SW side of how high the slopes were. That’s nuts. He said the price for doing it was 2g, and four guys were working on it for a year. This is why it pays to hang out with one of the locals who knows the server like the back of their hand.

Found the tunnel entrance to the keep, also on the SW side. How did I not see this earlier?? He told me to mouse over the wall and I would see a boat, and I definitely did. This is..unbelievable. We headed back down into the caverns. Had a troll and a black bear to deal with. Good thing this guy can handle trolls. After the troll dies, his client crashes for about 15 or so seconds, but manages to reconnect before his character disappeared. So we head down another level and saw a huge cavern, exactly under the keep. He said that this is one mine level under the keep. …How in the heck is the keep still standing? Wouldn’t it had caved in? Yet I forget, this isn’t real life.
Mind blown. This one guy, did all of this. Either he’s insane, or bored as hell. The guy also had to AFK for about 15 minutes, saying to feel free to look around. And so I did, running around this huge underground parking lot.
Saw a lava fiend on one of the sides of the cavern, which I quickly engaged (but took five minutes to kill). Managed to see one of the boats down here. Where’s the exit for them, I wonder? I’d love to get my Knarr under here.

While he was away, I continued to ask about a horse’s speed in CA HELP. They mentioned earlier that weight also plays into how fast it will go. Asked about bardings(armor for a horse) and if they affect weight. From what I’ve seen, bardings are typically used as a cosmetic feature. Not everyone uses them. Was told Cloth is the lightest, but provides no protection.
He finally came back, and showed me the actual docks. It had a higher ceiling, and he told me to look up and I would see the foundation of the deed. And yes, there it was. He said “it took many months to dig this myself”. Fuck, man. If Renny saw this, he’d drop to his knees infront of this guy and say “I’m not worthy”. And all I could say to him was “This is mind-blowing, Theshawv. Fantastic job.” I meant every word.

He lead me back out of the tunnel system to show me the Stadium. Having already been there, I thought “why not? Let a local show you around on this final day” and followed him to the East entrance of the thing. He said that a friend owns it. I thought of asking whom, but I would had probably said “Ah, I don’t know him” or something.
As we’re getting ready to head up (in the darkness), the borrowed horse is acting like a 4-speed again. I asked if he would examine it and he did. And…it’s a 4-speed (who acts like a 5-speed at times). He said “they have speed bursts and then go slower for awhile”. And this is when I brought up the whole ‘wish I could bring my horse cross-server’ thing again, also adding about what I was told with “it would kill the horse market”.
His reasoning is “data base and breeding issues prolly more liek it”. There’s also another thought that popped up in my head. How would deed ownership of a horse even work cross-server? Your actual ‘deed'(your contract of ownership of the deed) stays back when you go cross-server. So with that, how will people know if you owned it on another server? Though I imagine it would be simple as “It has been branded and belongs to the village of Oceanside Retreat (Indi).”

Anyway, checked out the Stadium (again). But he actually showed me areas I didn’t see, such as a ‘chariot racing’ area(aka horses attached to a large cart). WOW, that would’ve been FUN to watch! I do remember in one section of Xanadu (the deed, not the server) has a race course. But I don’t think it was ever used. Checked out the PvP arena. As I’m going around it, I stumbled into a secret mine door on one side of the arena. He’s as surprised as I am, and follows me in to explore it.
Found the ‘mini-arena’ that I thought was a joke, and he was amazed it existed. How can he not know about this? I thought he was one of the locals.
Anyway, we made our way out, and he said that’s all he knew he could show me. He didn’t even know about the Oak Highway. Wow. Mmm. Whatever.

He asked me if I needed anything before he headed back home, and I had to ask for some meals. Yet when I checked my fat layers, I was still “Very nourished and has a good reserve of fat.”.. WHAT?? As many time as I fasted, I still have all of my fat layers?? Still, I thanked him so much for the tour.
He said he had some food back in his place if I wanted to stop by, and I thought sure. Told me to follow the North road out of the keep and follow it going East..all the way. Felt like quite the journey, and I had to ask him a few times if I was still going the right way.
Stopped for a bit, waiting for him to respond. He said someone named ‘Subie’ is coming towards me to give me something. So I waited and someone stopped behind me and gave me three meals that I’ve never seen before, called “butter fowl curry”. Really good QL, too. Thanked them and they ran off. I’m looking all around to see this person, but all I see is someone running off on an identical black horse. I thought it was the guy at the time (and this ‘Subie’ is a ghost, or a GM).

Continued east, following the road. I had the meals, but I wanted to get a better look of the guy’s deed. Again, I thought I was lost after passing by the sunken farm. But I kept going. And sure enough, it did lead me to his place. I managed to get a better shot of the castle, including a really cool, high bridge I wanted to check out.
And the view from the top? Really nice. 🙂
Then I took one last photo of his castle, before I felt it was time to return back to my boring Wurm life back home.

Getting back to where my boat was, I had to follow the road I just went down, back west, and then I took a north route that should lead me there. And…my god. Deliverance, said goodbye to me in its own way. With scenes of very little trees for miles, beautiful rolling hills that look like out of Skyrim, realistic-looking highways, and farmland. Best. trip. EVER!! 😀
This is clearly the server’s way of waving goodbye, and to come back soon. I..am in tears of just how BEAUTIFUL everything looks! Again..this is what keeps me playing Wurm. These…stunning images of high resolution greatness, and how well-preserved the area is. Bravo, Wurm devs.

Made it back to my boat. As as Sol set for this final night on Deliverance(for me), I followed the coast south in my boat to put the horse back in its pen where I found it, incase someone else needed a good horse. Got a bit sidetracked as I was near the Deli-Xan border. There’s two ‘border islands’ here, where you could literally go between the servers on foot. That’s definitely not something I’ve seen before.
Stopped at the SE flatraised area, mainly because I saw the word “Market” on one of the buildings here. Parked my boat and got out. Didn’t know this was a trap laid out by a single hellhound who nearly got me if I hadn’t thought quickly and managed to pull off the Ride option on the horse before it attacked. Killed it with some damage left over, but nothing that couldn’t heal up on its own.
Went around the flat area, and didn’t encounter any other hostiles. I also something else in my Event log; ‘[23:35:41] You will soon leave this island, and end up on Xanadu.’
This is nuts; being this close to the server border on foot. This undeeded town was falling apart. Not even a guard tower, so I’m thankful it wasn’t a troll that was here.

Seeing how there was nothing really of interest, I got back in my boat and continued on. Passed by the infamous mountain I went up and over, and the guard tower that literally saved my life from so many trolls. I also passed by Dragontooth Peak. Stay awesome there. 🙂
Night fell as I arrived where I found the free horse pens. I thanked Kalilcloud(the horse) for getting me through the server(which he shaked his head twice at me about having a good time here).. ohh fuck you, just get in your pen. 😛
Put the horse back and got back in my boat, and plotted a course for Independence(the first Freedom Isle server).
Going north along the East coast(to get to the NE corner of the server), I saw all three of Wurm’s moons in the Eastern sky(with Jackal starting to dip below the horizon). Couldn’t fit them all into one picture as Seris wanted to be a little bitch and not be close to Valrei.
As I approached the NE coast, I had to fight a NW gale by going inland a bit (to not accidentally travel to the wrong side of Indy). But soon I reached a point I felt was enough to head due East.

.
Finally back in Indy, Village chat is now active(indicating I’m back on my home server). Sailed back home in the dark with no issues. I hoped to make it back by Solrise, but that didn’t happen.
‘[00:31:34] You enter Oceanside Retreat.’ welcomed me back as I parked in my boat dock. My home is not much, but it’s still home, and I own all the land around it and don’t have to answer to a GM to do anything.

Put everything back in my coffin and hung the chain armor back on the armor stand that saved my life countless times. The journey in Deli is something I’m not going to forget for a very, very long time. The peaceful farmlands. The rolling hills. The trolls trying to club my brains out. Lovely. And I managed to go up 30 levels in Fighting. Impressive.
Exploring Deli started off really nice, then it got messy with being teleported to an unknown location and kchat acting like they had no idea what I was talking about, then even more messy with the ‘hyper-spawning’ of mobs(in reality, I was just in a really bad spot at the time). And if it wasn’t for B2 having his own bank account and mailing me my gear, I don’t think I would’ve had the fun I did of exploring off the beaten path.

I can’t wait to visit the other servers. I only hope they look as good as Deliverance did (or even more). And that temporarily concludes my ‘Freedom Isle server mega-exploration trip’.
Until February 8th, at least. 🙂

Freedom Isle server mega-exploration trip – Deliverance (Day 5)

Ahh Day 5. So much more of this server to see. And let’s get started of what happened yesterday.
I do have a semi-important note. Tomorrow, I will be going back home to Indy. The reason is because Wurm Summer is ending soon. And the reason for that is, I just don’t like the look of Wurm’s textures during the Fall ‘months’, and Winter… FUCK that, when I can barely tell the difference between the ground and a road.
So, after using WurmClock to calculate, I will be restarting the trip by either February 8th-9th gets here. So I need to explore the rest of Deliverance, rather quickly.

Lastly, I have decided as nice as the server is.. I’m not going to live here. For one thing, I still need to broaden my list of potential sites. And 2.. well, I guess it’s a bit of a fear of change. Even moving IRL can be depressing. You’re moving away from all of your memories, in order to have new ones. Plus..since I’m not really a people person, I’m kind of fearing people will come over and be all “welcome to the server, new blood! :D”

And lastly of my lastly thing(yes, it’s a real made up thing)…I don’t want to go back home. I literally WANT to stay here in Deli, away from how..boring my deed looks. That and no more options are coming in to give me ideas for my deed (but I think it’s because I’m still doing the “I don’t think I really need this” thing.. and it might be making them think that giving their opinions is pointless, when I refuse to do them).
Deliverance is still a fantastic place to visit, though (especially the ‘Oak Highway’, which I’ll explain later on).

Starting where I last logged out, I continued around the NE coast. Nothing really special, but as I was getting ready to reach the North side of the server, I saw a Knarr followed by a Rowboat also going NW (possibly heading to Indy). Reminded me of when I was sailing my Knarr home for the first time in Xanadu (except B2 was using a sailboat).
Going along the North coast (through a town called ‘Horsedog’), I had to go inland again to get around buildings and other areas the horse couldn’t get around. One of them took me across two rope bridges. You know, the ones you see in movies that have a history of snapping in half(or getting your foot caught by a plank that breaks)? Those things. Thankfully they won’t do that in this game.
Saw this interesting ramp ahead of me. What was interesting is it was lettered using Cobblestone and Slab. Took awhile to get the shape of the letters, but it simply said “HOrSEDO9“(dunno how a ‘9’ looks like a ‘G’. Maybe it’s backwards, which was throwing me off the most).
Attempting to ascend said road, gave me a lot of grief in the form of spiders, bears, wolves, and a troll. Luckily, you also saw that guard tower to the left in that pic. That helped out(mainly with the troll and hellhounds). 🙂
After they were all dead, the view was incredible. You can clearly see the NE corner of the server. There was even this big thing that wanted to get in on the action. Unfortunately, “KILL PLAYER!!” is more important to it than enjoying the scenery.

Now on the North coast, going West, I had more obstacles to deal with. But instead of them being topographical-related, these were player-placed (locked gates and buildings in the way).
One of these forced detours took me around a canal, and this haunted levitating rowboat (more like glitched in the mine entrance). Was quite trippy.
Coming back to the coast, I had to run through the grass as there were no roads. Saw 2/3rds of an unfinished stone bridge. Decided to examine it, as I was curious what it takes to build a bridge. And from what I saw, this thing needs a shitload of mortar and bricks (which is obvious). Yet I found it interesting how this structure could be built. Some bridges are ridiculously high up. How in the heck do you lay down a new foundation if you wouldn’t be able to reach it? There’s an obvious way somewhere.

Moving on, another obstacle had me go further inland due to a structure named ‘Workshop’ sitting right on the fucking road. Whoever did that deserves a /slap. So I’m following the map, and it shows there’s a road that will bypass. What it didn’t show was a wall in my face and more locked doors. Oy.. had to go around it (and dodge several mobs in the process). When I finally got around to get to the road, I saw a weird thing. Was this 3-lane road that had a low stone wall separating it in half. Managed to go around it, and had the assumption that this used to be part of a deed.
Finally made it around the building, but I saw it actually wasn’t blocking (as there was no way further West due to a canal in the way). It would still require me to go around it.
After many, many more player-placed obstacles I had to bypass (even an area with one unlocked gate…yet the other one was locked), I saw my boat, still where I parked it. But I had to go around a bay to get to it. And finally, I made it back to it. Was so happy to see something familiar after days of going around the server on horseback!
But to welcome me back, was a Aged crock that trapped me in the Insane Dragon Inn. Another familiar face showed up who was sailing back to Indy; Odynn. Asked him to assist me in dealing with this thing that will make me be close to all red before it does, and he did and went back to what he was doing.

Got in a bed there and slept while waiting for Sol to rise. Now with the coastal route completed, it’s time to finally see the interior of Deliverance on horseback. And the first place to go, is Green Dog. From there, I hoped to retrace B2’s steps of where I first logged on as him after so many years.
Halfway to Green Dog, after having a guard tower deal with two hellhounds who tried to ambush me, a fog started to develop… and kept coming in. Since I was still fairly close to the tower, I went back and swept the ground, looking for fog spiders. The fog continued to roll in, until I could see no more than 5 tiles infront of me. Shockingly, kchat never mentioned a thing about the fog (which is the reverse on Indy(as I tend to make a fool of myself by saying “Moar fog!!!”), but that’s only if I’m at home).
This nice nearly 45 minute delay finally burned off, costing me a lot of travel time. Still, I continued to Green Dog, passing by one of the canal entrances I went through on my boat. Sadly with so much time taken from me, I was forced to go rest somewhere. Originally it was going to be this hilariously-named town (for what I’m looking for) named ‘Safe Haven’. But how I felt it wasn’t that dark yet, I went further West to a place called ‘Gallifray And New-raxa”. What a deed name! It had a place to store my borrowed horse, and for me to sleep(for 10i).
There was even a merchant area, but only two merchants (of all the stalls there).

The next morning came a minute later than I had calculated. As I said before, I cannot factor in server lag or whatever’s going on. Solsets have been shorter, and Solrises have been longer (almost like the planet itself is immitating that Winter is coming).
Instead of heading south to Green Dog, I took a detour of this ‘Bitfrost tunnel’ entrance that was nearby. How it went up, I wondered if it would lead to another mountain peak. Reached the top of..something. Looked around and didn’t really see the peak nearby. Decided to turn back around and continue on. This lead me to that delightful lake I emerged into while I was sailing, called ‘Rainbow Lake’. Even got to go across the bridge. Was a lot of dead mobs here, and several archery targets as I continued up the road.
Got distracted again when I saw a sign with ‘Public Campground” on it pointing to the West. This took me to a really, really unique deed called ‘Astoria‘. It showed it was a dedicated animal plantation, having several animal pens..that looked like real animal pens! Every horse had a 2×2 pen. Was really nice. If only I had the room in my deed to do something like this.. wow.
There was even pens for Unis, chickens and rooters, bison, and sheep. No cows, though. Quite odd. Guess they..lol, ran out of room?
Their ‘Barn’ was an open air storage shed. Usually barns have hay, and an opening to reach the second floor with platforms on one side. Instead, there was all of this.

Finally getting back on track, I continued south. Another sign grabbed my attention; “Deliverance stadium and market place”.. wait, stadium? Deliverance has an ARENA?! Lol.. fuck going to Green Dog! I gotta check this out! 😀 This tourist trap lead me to a high area, surrounded by Tundra. Finally I reached the top, and saw the exterior of what I assumed to be the stadium. But the only way in was to head down just a bit to enter the arena. And the market? There were no merchants here.
Dove into a tunnel under the arena, and what I saw was rather.. disappointing; a 3×3 area with a raised ceiling, a fountain in the middle, and demon statues on all four corners. This, is an arena?? WTF?! It looks nothing like it should! There’s no big pit! No spikes! No blood!
Started running around the tunnels. Found a pretty good-sized one that ended in another location of the deed (in a building called ‘Arena – Deliverance finest !’.
After walking around the area, I soon discovered that this was their PvP Arena. Now THIS is more like it! This is a proper arena!
After having my fill, I went back down the hill. Got this shot of what almost looks like a mini version of Dragonfang Mountain. Perhaps, ‘Dragon Whelp Mountain’? Heh. Dragon baby tooth mountain?
Moving on, I once again (and THIS time didn’t get distracted anymore) headed to Green Dog. And I FINALLY made it! So many delays. 🙂

Another reason I wanted to go to Green Dog, is first to find out where in the heck I got teleported to when I examined that sign. And then, to (as I said before) retrace B2’s steps before I picked him up and took him back home. Still remember an angled road with some lovely deeds on the sides.
Continued going south past Green Dog, trying to look for both things. This had me going through several lovely wooded areas. One in particular was this ‘Oak Highway’, built in 1018(Wurm year). And..my gosh, it did not disappoint. But there was this one section where it opened up, and my jaw dropped to the floor. A single Oak tree in the middle of the road, in this thick forest with no player-made structures for miles.
This… this… there are no words. Fucking. 10/10 IGN!! “Would ride on again”. This area right here, with no mobs, no worries.. just you and nature (or at least coding taking the shape of trees).. THIS is where you go to lose your greatest anger and torment. This, is my new happy place. THIS is why I don’t want to leave Deliverance!!! D:(
But, eventually I have to. Continued to follow the Oak Highway further south. Quite amazed how long this highway is with how tiny the server is. But it goes without saying, that even the smallest of things have a big heart. And what I passed by is (in my opinion) the beating heart of Deliverance.
As I continued south, the oak trees had disappeared for the most part, having a generic 3-lane highway going through a forest. Yet the theme of having the area well-preserved– at least for awhile. Passed by a pretty cool castle-like structure (with a “moat”). Also passed into what I believe to be one of these many Mol-Rehan camps I’ve passed by in my travels. Nothing to worry about, as they’re nothing but a shadow of their former kingdom. Still, they wave their kingdom flag high.

Passing that, I stopped by this thing on the side of the road. Following it lead to an Aged fat champ troll (thankfully behind a fence). But it tried to engage me when I got close. Thinking it was going to try to bash down the walls and come running after me like a mad bull, I stayed away but continued to explore. Stopped by more locked doors of this walled-in deed (the walls were too high to look). Turned around and continued south down the road I was on. Eventually the road finally reached its end upon meeting the southern coast.
Sol is starting on its downward arc at this time, so I turned around and went back up the road to try to find a safehouse. Decided to head to a place far to the West, called ‘EAS Market’. After much traveling(and getting lost a bit), I finally reached the deed. Got welcomed by a few of the locals here.
Exploring around, I saw this humongous thing and thought “Oh wow, I want the Penthouse Suite!”. Also found the market infront of the wooden hotel. It’s not much. Their prices were sky high, though.
Took a peek into the hotel, and it felt like a real hotel (as real as one can get in Wurm anyway). Large table, lots of rugs, potted plants, and there was even a place nearby to store the horse (thankfully).
After storing the horse, I went back into the hotel and attempted to head to the top. Got a bit injured with a door infront of a spiral staircase. Not the best ideas of keeping your guests happy. But… the view from the top. Wow. Plus I could see the Solset from here.
More of the locals spoke up, saying their hi’s. I asked them if it was OK if I stay the night in their fine hotel (and where I stored the house). I was told that I’m the first guest “in a long time” to stay here; saying the place has existed for four years. Nice.
Logged out and waited for Sol to rise.

Next morning, I logged in and found myself..at a place I wasn’t supposed to be. Somehow I got ‘teleported’ back down to the bottom of the hotel, behind of a locked door. Obviously this player position relocation thing is a bug, and really needs to be fixed. I’ve seen it happen several times when I had logged back in, in my house (as I was behind my FSB in a corner, when I clearly logged out in the middle of the room).
Made my way back around the hotel and back up (to put myself back where I had logged out), then went back down, got a few more pictures and left the hotel and got the horse. Here I wanted to try once again to find out where B2 was, by going north back to Green Dog (but at an angle around a lake). This got me lost a bit in a sea of Oleander and Lavender bushes. Even passed by a small deed called ‘Flintstone’s Boss’.. wat.
Getting lost some more, I took this image of being up on a hill. Gorgeous. Finally found the road I was looking for, but it lead back to the road that lead me to this place.
When I finally made it to the lake I wanted to access, I realized I was on the wrong side of it. Wanted to take this western coastal road around it. Still, didn’t stop me from getting some lovely pics of the road. Just a head’s up, I’ll be uploading all of my useful pics to my website after coming home(and making a pic post), so you guys will be able to check them out at your leisure.
So this route lead me to a ‘Public Clay Preserve’. Looking at the clay, it looked puny to all the clay that was back home at my deed. I would absolutely LOVE to ‘donate’ all of it to this preserve! 😀
I turned around, went back down the road and finally found myself on the correct side of the lake. This lead me back to ‘The Sanctuary’, a deed embedded in the forest. I assume they’re a bunch of treehuggers; acting like the Lorax and “speaking for the trees”. Still is pretty nice, though.
Continuing to try to find where B2 was (and also feeling like I’m running out of places to explore), I backtracked to the Oak Highway and went East towards ‘Shark Lake’. Deli sure has a lot of lakes. What was different about this route, was the name of the lamps I passed by. They were all named “Lake Road – ###”(where the numbers I assumed indicate the number of tiles between any two lamps).

Arrived at a peninsula overlooking the lake, and… DAMN, Deli! You’re spoiling me with all of this eye-candy! The server just feels..so young and lively, while Indy feels..so old and dead. I guess because of all the newness.
Halfway went around the lake, then I turned the corner and saw this in the distance. It felt like it was beckoning me to come up and take a look, so I did. The top had another amazing 360* view of the server.
Now I’m convinced I’m running out of places to explore, fearing I would have to leave and head back home earlier (which is why I’m typing all of this instead of going out for Day 6). But before I had time to think(and Sol’s starting to go down again), I had a scaly enemy to deal with. And I managed to kill my first Vern crock(by focusing as hard as I could)! 😀 Took a lot longer than I would had liked, though(doubt that same fight would have been possible on level ground without me being very red). Still.. 60 Fight Skill! WOOT WOOT!
Seeing a large sand area infront of me, I did some hunting (even killing two more crocks, this time much faster). With having killed nearly every mob here (leaving the scorps alone, due to fearing they’ll eventually poison me and LT won’t heal it), I headed down the road. Had a troll after me, that a guard tower helped with.

Back on solid ground, I found my way to ‘Puzzle Plaza’. I remembered Muse mentioning this place as being close as possible to FM. Sadly, most of the merchant stalls were empty. The only being was someone in my local named ‘Ppm’.
Night started to creep in as the ground got darker and darker. At the deed I found someone else’s attempt of doing a house like mine back home (except wider, a 4×3).
Left the deed and went though a road tunnel called the ‘PPM Tunnel’. Here had a safehouse (that I would later use). I then checked out the ‘Green Tunnel’. Popping in my local as I’m running through the tunnel was ‘Dragonspine’..who was also AFK. So that makes two people with ‘dragon’ in their name being AFK.
Emerged on a road that wasn’t on the map, of roads going in all four cardinal directions. Had two (empty) merchant stalls here. With night coming, I decided to go back through the tunnel and head for that safehouse I found.

Next morning((and also now the 23rd of January), the final morning of this really long post), I left the safehouse and went up North. I planned to head up, then cut through the West, pass Green Dog, and then finally head to a place called ‘Deliverance Keep'(which is near the stadium). This lead me through the ‘Blue Tunnel'(not lighted) and the ‘Red Tunnel'(only lamp lighted was the one at the end of the tunnel).
The tunnel entrances remind me of when I was playing with Google Earth and going through I-80’s tunnels(how there was a right and a left entrance, it felt like lanes of an interstate).
After leaving the red tunnel, I found another one of these ‘Deliverance Derby’ things(passed by one earlier in the day). I thought it was the same one I had already passed by. But when I went West, it was apparent this was all new. Was also passing by bee hives named ‘Deli Collective’.
On the way there, I saw a submerged farm(obviously the crops are dead), a Vyrona Colossus sitting in an unnamed lake, and a road tunnel that connected to the boat canal to ‘Nightmare Lake’.
Finally I made it to Deliverance Keep, which had a fairly good-sized market. There were about four merchants here, offering a lot of stuff. One even selling the skull of a white dragon hatchling (for 1g). Disturbing(and expensive).
I also saw someone selling a single haul of..supreme dirt for 50c. LOL. ‘Supreme dirt’ always kills me (‘With fine details and slick design’). Oh Wurm, you silly sometimes.

Found some more healing covers (four of them) for only 10i. What a deal! However, the weight of them worried me that the game was going to bitch at me for them not being ‘meaty’ enough to work, so I asked in CA HELP if this matters. The answer was the weight didn’t matter, but what it was made out of mattered; being told ‘Supreme’ is the way to go for good HC’s (as they will work against Bad/Severe wounds). But the helper kept on yapping about this and that about them, even after I thanked them.
Went to the token and right clicked to get the cash out, and saw these new options. WOAH. What are all of these Rituals?? Decided to try the ‘Ritual of Fog'(just to see what would happen). My character started to do every known emotion directed at the token, and stopped at ‘The ritual is complete’.
I’m thinking “Oh..shit.. WHAT HAVE I DONE?! I’ve doomed the server!!” …Yet nothing happened. No fog rolled in, at least. Phew!!

From here, I studied the map looking for that angled road I found B2 standing on, and I THINK I had found it south of the Stadium. Going by the distance from Green Dog and where I picked him up, it HAD to be it!!
So I went for it, leaving the keep of the West and then having it connect to a road going west into the Stadium, then taking a SW road would lead me right to it! Sadly, road decay got me lost of where I need to go. But I finally found the roads I needed to go.
Finally I arrived, but it was nothing like I remembered. Infact with the missing roads, I was getting horribly lost. I mean, I -kind of- knew where I was, but they weren’t really aligning correctly. As I’m trying to figure out this issue, local got active with three people saying hi to me; people I remembered seeing in kchat. They asked me if I lived around here, and I had to tell them I was visiting from Indy.
We talked a bit, and I started arguing with them about Deliverance being an old server. Don’t you tell me Deli is older than Indy. Indy existed before cross-server traveling was a thing (aka 2010).
I also debated over the whole ‘Deli has the best community’ claim(how they’re no such thing as a ‘best community’), and they said I was right. One also said “people are dicks on cele” (yet adding on “when i started they were”).

Only one of them spoke to me for then on, named ‘Doctorangus’. Told him about the whole Deli Derby thing. He was surprised the sign that I examined back at Green Dog teleported me by accident, and how I was lost and no one acted like they knew I was talking about, “still teleports”; telling me it “happened a long time ago” and “everyone was like w/e”. Asked where does it go, saying I’ve been looking for it. Was told it “teleports to NE”.
Asked where abouts, and he said around F19/F20 on the ingame map (near a town named “Jon’s Estate” on the map I’ve been following). Looked closely and I could definitely see it. I’m going to go there before it’s time to go back home to Indy.
I went into their deed, following the sound of imping and found the guy. He got startled, saying “this is my secret imp area” and “not many find me here”. Told him that his imping noise lead me to him.

With Sol on its downward arc once again, I had to make my leave. Before I left, I asked him about the chance of finding a recipe on a troll being so low, asking him “is it based on your Butchering skill, or just by pure luck?” He says that it’s completely randomized, doesn’t drop by butchering (is on the corpse pre-butcher), and “just hope you are lucky like finding that rare pokemon”.
So I waved them goodbye and headed out..only to get lost again. Going by the map, I was near Green Dog, but the roads weren’t really aligning in the right place (aka this road that’s supposed to go along the lake). As I tried to find my bearings, I passed by a few signs I remembered passing by before. Always good to have reference points when out exploring.
Cross-referenced what I was seeing with the map, and.. I should NOT be lost! So I went back to the lake, and I still was not seeing this road going along the side. Yet as I continued to follow it, then the roads began to align! So I was just slightly lost.

Having failed to find where B2 was, I headed up towards where I was teleported. I decided to enter the road tunnel to Nightmare Lake that went next to to the boat canal (as it was still going in the direction I needed to go). Had some cave bugs to kill, and a Vern crock. This one was exactly I feared would happen. Was half health by the time it died. Checked my wounds and saw red all over. Another crock showed up and I was forced to run and got out of the tunnel, with now a hellhound chasing me.
Since I had a lot of open roads ahead, I felt confident I can outrun this thing. But it persisted, refusing to give up the chase. Thankfully I reached a guard tower and assisted with killing it.
After it was dead, I checked my wounds again. Now it’s orange instead of red. WHEW.. just healed a Medium. I love you, Life Transfer! 😀

Killed a few other mobs, and was able to erase all of my wounds without ever having to touch a healing cover. By now it’s night again, and with no deeds, I set up camp next to a guard tower (which I’m still at, but offline as I type all of this).
Finally, Day 5 is all typed out! Wow. So much to say. But as I said before, Day 6 will likely be the final day here in Deliverance.
