I got prem last night, and should have it ’till this day next month. The reason being (as said before) to make sure all my assets in Xanadu are secured (aka the bison).
Since I was home at the time, I was getting ready to throw the 5s into the deed upkeep. See that it’ll be active for 58 days; which would actually be 28 days to avoid decay. Discovered the time to throw more money in the deed, will actually be November 19th (instead of the 5th). Which is a few days after the LunaLong ends. Awesome! I love how that works for me! Impalongs past, I feared if my upkeep was paid as I wasn’t home.
As for travel time, with a breeze (not ‘light’ or ‘strong’)…
– 11 minutes from the server border to reach the mainland.
– 31 minutes from this point, to reach the wagon (took off a minute from this(was 32) due to server lag).
For a total of 42 minutes.
Managed to care for the 4th bison.. odd, says I can’t care for any more. Looks like I was actually right the first time, and uncaring for Uma was actually needed. I also forgot about the rune that I could buy to lower her age. So when I’m ready to care for her in Xan, I can use it and not have to worry about her croaking when taking her out of the cage.
As I was inroute to Kappa, just south of Whitefay used to be a deed called ‘Kittenhold’. Last time I was here, the structures were still here. Now, they’re gone, and you can loot nearly everything. There’s several statues at one part of this once deed; horses, dogs, and girls for what I could see. Helped myself to two statues of horse, one statue of dog, and one statue of girl. The wagon was able to hold it all, and I continued on the trek to Kappa.

It took approximately three hours (even traveling at night) to reach Kappa. On the way there, there’s another Rift event going to the ESE of me. I also ran into a guy who had died and using a horse to get back, claiming they threw down their tent.. yet they weren’t getting an option to respawn there. Wow.
Oof… reminds me of when I was lost on the top of that mountain. I feel even more thankful that it gave me the option, with how stressed I was.
So anyway, Kappa. Nice place. It’s located South and Southwest of Surefall Lake. I can see faster routes (off the highway system) to get here, once I near Lormere. Most look like old deed roads, but they should still be intact.
The impalong site, it took me a bit to find. It’s quite compact compared to other impalong sites that I’ve been to. Has three floors. It’s also the first impalong that has underground boat parking (from what I saw of the pictures). But since I’ll be using the highway system instead, this won’t apply to me.
It has two inns in extremely close proximity to the site; perfect for (extremely
slowly) getting SB back up.

So I logged off in one of the beds here (as it was dinnertime). When I get back and Sol rises, I’m planning to now head to Esteron, to check out the new route.
Came back, and it seemed I had done so at the perfect time. Person in kchat, offering to make three free 50QL smelting pots and give them away to whoever PMs (people in Xan are quite nice). Jumped at this and got it at 55QL. Actually paid for shipping (1c and 1i), but sweet! No questions asked (such as “are you new?”), too. Just how I like it.

Tried the new route to Esteron. 855m less of a journey than between NEXA Market and Kappa. Eventually got there. The ‘bypass route’ I remember taking from Lormere to get me there (when I was on Uma) is now officially part of the Xanadu catseye highway system.
It connects off of the Rome/Lormere highway (closer to Rome though). To reach Esteron, The Three-Legged Troll is still the gateway to it (and the rest of SE Xan).
And instead of seeing a series of bridges, is one very long N/S tunnel that continues just before the old route to Esteron (involves dodging veins). Then going along a few coastlines before finally connecting itself to SE Xan’s current highway system.
And this route is changed as well. Instead of going through a tunnel and crossing two bridges, you now go along another coast, then up to connect to the main highway.
Now in Esteron (properly), I’m getting bored and want to go back home. Three things happened on the way there;
1. The bison were hungry again. Stopped on the side of the road to let them graze. Random wolf sneaks up behind me and tries to bite. It dies.. and I get a free 20c coin. Nice!! Easiest 20c I’ve ever gotten!
2. Halfway back (on the TTLT-Whitefay Highway, bear attacks me. It’s a champ. He pissed me off, so I challenged him. Trying hard to keep focusing so I can change my stance to the head, and he keeps knocking it away from me (same as fighting a troll). Finally kill him with 50% health left. Yep, I just solo’d my first champ mob!
3. Champ troll shortly after. See it running into the hills, and try to go for it.. fucker turns around and gives chase. Only hits me once, managed to outrun and live to fight another day.
Finally back at my boat, safe and sound. Successfully transferred all the looted statue goods from the wagon to the boat (via unloading and loading), and sailed home (with a light breeze in my face).
A few feet from the private boat parking gate of DTH, I noticed a pretty large problem on the road between angry’s old place and my deed. Champ spider, with several regular ones. Where in the fuck did they come from?! Was this Enki’s doing? No matter. Time to pull out the industrial sized can of Raid and squish these bugs.
Hopped on Uma and got the momma champ spider over to the guard tower. She’s now dead, and so are her five ‘children’. No more mobs around me. Logged out to continue working on this, and publish it.
I’ll be back in Wurm (and Xanadu) on November 7th, for the NEXALong. By then, Wurm Winter will pass. Though, I’m contemplating of making a post in the Xanadu forum
about… something completely unrelated to this (but it’s nothing bad, just an inquiry).
