The worst case of Buyer’s Remorse I ever felt in my life

Yesterday, as I was feeling a lot of distrust with ArenaNet, Jero wanted to hang out with me in VR. Of course I wanted to be with my BF, plus it would help with my ‘break’ from GW2. However this was fucked by one of VRChat’s upstream providers having issues with the login server. I would log in just fine, but just sit there, and sit there, and sit there until I timed out.
This process took 4 hours until their upstream provider finally got whatever the hell was going on with their servers. I could see the frantic chaos trying to get everything back to normal. I can also safely assume this angered a lot of remaining VRC+ subscribers.

Anyway, Jero went to work as he went offline, and never came back on. It was upsetting because I really wanted to hang out with him, but.. shit happens.
Decided to say “fuck it” and went back to GW2, starting.. starting the bane of my
fuckup: trying to play Living World Season 2, Chapter 1. This one, we had no idea where all of these vines were coming from. And it really felt weird to go ‘back in time’ after I had already defeated Mordremoth.
But the story, it was messy. And just like Living World Season 1, there was no captions during cutscenes. And your character also doesn’t talk (apart from dialog). I dunno what we were even doing here, yet they all act like I told them to meet here.
See, when I read the message from the mysterious ‘E’ person (from Season 1), it told me to go to an area I haven’t been to in years (and there’s no easy route to get there). After getting lost, I thankfully did find (on the map) a waypoint that would get me closer to it. And after running by loads of enemies on my raptor mount, I found the route to get to the story checkpoint.

After completing the first scene, you enter the ‘fabled’ Dry Top that my character kept talking about bad things that happened there in Heart of Thorns. Mainly, betrayal by a former Pact member that my character was so fucking pissed over.
Then there’s this moment my character suddenly turns into a fucking forensics expert after going over a crashed airship, and somehow determines, this was no accident.. HUH?!
Since when did my character suddenly understand crime scenes?! The only thing
a Charr understands, is war. It’s literally in their lore! How in the fuck did my guy suddenly have Batman’s intelligence in solving crimes?!

Then there’s this thing about ‘The Prince of Peace’ having an assassin after him.
…My mind went numb, trying to understand this. It got too used to being told what
the FUCK is going on, instead of having to read dialog.
And then, you fight the assassin. The guy’s not a boss, but he fights dirty. So much I can’t predict his moves. Infact when the ‘battle’ started, I didn’t even know where to go to fight the guy. Just seeing constant spawning spike tendrils. It took 15 minutes until I finally managed to get up to fight the guy.. only to be knocked back down by his explosives. Over and over again. Took awhile until I was able to outsmart the attacks, yet I didn’t even realize he was dead. And my teammates didn’t tell me either.
Finally though, things slightly started turning in the direction of trying to figure out why the Elder Dragons came back, and noticing the name ‘Mordremoth’ etched into a book. And that’s where Chapter 1 ends.

This. was. so. BAD!! It felt so dull compared to Season 1! There was even a part I
was trying desperately to hear the dialog of my team.. while also hearing a
random NPC crying somewhere that was ruining my concentration.
ArenaNet, not your best work. Not worth the 200 Gems I used to unlock. But it also leads me to believe why they even gave the option to purchase the individual episodes. ..Really wish someone warned me not to buy Episode 1 then.
