Ohh great… more neighbors (and one is very close to me) :P

Came on to check Tulsi’s progress, and I noticed someone new in local (named ‘Xandice’ who immediately said hi to me), then disappeared. A few minutes later, the person asked me in a PM if I lived on Cele. I said yes. When I asked why, the person said they “just started here” and trying to meet new people in the area.
All I could say was “Ah. Well cool. :)” Fantastic way to welcome someone to the server, right? Yet I was more concerned if they meant of ‘starting here’ and meeting new people ‘in the area’.. if this means the person is living near me (because you folks know how much I love neighbors).

We talked for about 10+ minutes as I’m pushing ‘angry’s boat’ out of my deed and to the lake, for it to be drifted away. The person tells me they lived in Xanadu. Never once (’till now) did I notice the ironic ‘Xan’ in the person’s name. Though I swear I saw this person’s name before as I was exploring Amish Estates. The person’s also asking me if I know ‘Wargasm’. I said simply that I knew and have seen him in kchat, but I didn’t personally know him. And the person said that they now live near him.
I thought cool and stuff.

After I got done making sure the boat was floating, I turn around and then see a venerable brown bear standing exactly where the boat was… what the fuck? It wasn’t named, just a regular ven bear.
Could…angry possibly be a GM?! Because that bear was NOT there before (nor did I see one anywhere around when I was pushing the boat away).
This is starting to freak me out. First a boat, and now this? Could the lava spider population also be caused by him? Mmmm. I dunno. Maybe I’m just being paranoid. Plus, GMs aren’t allowed to mess with players. So, it probably was a very strange quiescence. I mean, I’ve had it happen before with a mob suddenly showing up that I never seen, so I doubt it’s anything silly as angry being a GM. 😛
I also saw that the dog that Saint had tamed while DTH was being built, its model has changed…to a pumpkin that can walk with its roots. Yep, creepy. There was a Wurm update I got, so I guess the art team have the Halloween spirit (that or were told to change the models of some of the creatures to be Halloween-themed). Either way, well done!

Moving on, I’m in my house and I see the guy in local again, and also hearing the sound of trees being chopped and felled to the south of me. I’m thinking “so Wargasm must be living somewhere on the coast”. Then I see Wargasm also popping up in local.
I needed to go investigate this, so I mounted up and went south. And…sure enough this ‘Xandice’ is my neighbor. FUCK!! He has a pretty modest-sized house that looks like something I possibly would had thought of. It’s a 3×3, but it has an additional ‘driveway’ for carts. This is really neat, and creative. He’s also fighting a cave bug that is green in color (yet isn’t named as a greenish). Must be another Halloween-themed mob. Zombie cave bugs? Eek. Still remember in JK:H, I used to be scared of these little things (as they managed to use their size to evade a player’s attacks).
Now they fall dead just like any other mob to my axe. 🙂

But I digress. Wargasm obviously planned the structure Xandice is building. And before you say “you’re a bad friend because you could’ve done it for Tulsi”, remember that I gave him the option to build a 3×3 back in OR. It’s not my fault he got bored making planks. ..But, he also was helping him, trying to get him to enjoy the game. Personally, I feel ‘enjoying the game’ is doing all the work yourself. But that’s just me. That’s how I raised myself up in Wurm. And I doubt this guy had just started (as he said he started in Xanadu). He has -some- experience with this game, yet a lot more than Tulsi does.
He was even asking War of how to get a cow to follow him (and not trying to kill the cow). Nor does he (Xandice) have a strange obsession to spiders. Though I’ll admit, if smaller versions of dragons could be solo’d, I’ll be having the corpses of them all over the deed (you folks know I would). 😛

Wargasm said he lives on the coast, on the other side of the canal (Pilot’s Point). And looking back, I feel I did a very rude thing by asking him if I could barrow his slate veins (because I could had built the Grinding Floor out of Slate instead of Sandstone, which would had made it look cooler).
He asked what I was willing to offer, and I asked him what would he want that would be worth it to him. Then he turns to Xandice and says “It’s Xandice’s place, I’ll let him decide.” And I’ve been feeling since then “U WOT?! This place had slate I didn’t know about?!?! FUCK!!”
Yet instead of trading, Wargasm is telling me that he’s trying to get Xandice some silver to get prem. And it seemed he had forgotten about the trade, and then asked if I wanted shards or bricks (and how many). Not to be greedy, I asked for a minimum of 50 bricks (not that I’m going to really use them for anything). Then I had to go get my large cart and bring it back to go get them. He said he had them at his deed, but all I had to do was to just go back to the person’s house and receive them.

After getting the bricks, I bidded them adieu. Was getting ready to head back home, when I spotted a spider with a strange cave bug-like model in the distance. Curious, I went over it…and I wish I didn’t. Imagine a pumpkin with a grin, with 8 legs used for walking? Would you be scared of mother nature?
After killing the freak of nature, I decided to take it with me and see how Tulsi reacts to it.

So, this is great. More neighbors, with one of them being closer to me (and stuck in my local). So now I’m forced to use Village chat for now on.
I can only hope the person eventually gets the resources they need to move away from me. That would be ohh so fantastic, and I can finally live like a hermit again (with Tulsi also living here).
Before I close this post, I tried to personally talk to Wargasm of ‘how do I deal with Tulsi’. He seemed to dodge most of my questions, except when I told him that Tulsi’s 12 years old (and how I told him that this game isn’t for him). Yet his answer was “did you tell him it’s more addictive than smoking? :P”
My answer to him was of my own, of how I don’t play as much as I used to; only coming on to make sure the upkeep is good. He thought I also come on “for goblin leader fights”, which I replied “not even for that”.
Told him that I was going to be redesigning the deed in November, and his answer is if I wanted an all slate theme to let him know… god please no. Don’t be the ‘Paint It Black’ guy. Unlike the song, I actually want to see colors (and I don’t need my heart painted black).

I’ve also been tempted to ask him if he might co-op with me to build a bridge on my side of the canal (that I could use to access the mine Saint unearthed). Yet the only thing that stops me is the roads really go nowhere. But that could change with some effort.
