Shitting Bricks / Old friendships / Setting the phases

Now officially one week since I came back to Wurm, I spent most of the day gathering rock shards and turning them into bricks. Really wish Tulsi could help me with this lengthy task, but he can’t take two steps into a mine without his client crashing.
I also removed most of the people from my friends list, even sighing when I saw “Misterangry is no longer your friend.”
He hasn’t been on in just under 200 days. It’s possible it’s been that long since our… conversation (all over a website change). :/

Oh well. Time to move on. I do have a phase plan setup for before, and after we move into Oceanside Retreat.

Phase 1: Securing the land. Self-explanatory. The guard tower is the key to securing the lands around my deed (with the deed guards securing the deed). Clearing out the mine is also part of this phase. I saw a spider inside of it when I first arrived.
Phase 2: Temporary Shelter. Once the land is cleared of hostiles, the area will be safe enough to start moving my stuff over. I’ll set up a temp house to store stuff off the island.
Phase 3: Move in! Once everything (Tulsi’s) has been moved over, we’ve officially moved in. I’m also to give the old house to Ivan, as he requested it.
Phase 4: Make it ours. Here is were most of the work will go. I need to rip up all the flooring and replace it with what I had before. Also, the new house will be built.
Phase 4.5: I need Iron!!Change to the phases, due to finding out there’s no more iron veins in my old mine, I have to go mine a lot back on the island, and ship it to the deed. By this time, I should have the new forge and stove up. Once I have enough iron, I’ll be mining in my old mine in hopes to find another vein. I should also get some of the walls reinforced with planks.

I also found my old blueprint of the redesigned Oceanside Retreat. Really do hope I placed the token where I had it last. But if not, I’ll have to redesign my redesign. Just, hope I don’t have to do much.
So, good news(that was almost bad), and bad news. I now know why the old citizens of my area, left. But I’ll get to that later. I finally… FINALLY got the 501st brick placed! But when I went to build it, “You can’t continue the tower now, another tower is too near.”
Of course, being close to the tower the house is at, that makes sense. But it really, really worried me. Because I remember a tower near’ish to the deed. That would sooo cripple my plans. I had to see. So I took a rare clay and a rare brick with me and went to my deed. Ran up the platform. Nearly to the deed, another hellhound is there chewing on my leg! Got away with barely escaping a medium wound.
Guards made quick work of it. With that done, I had also discovered…. I dun goof’d with the placement of the deed. 😛 It’s a tile too far to the North. I could say I didn’t have time to make sure it was set, as it was also past my bedtime. All I knew is I had to slap it down RIGHT then and there!
So, the only way to “fix” the problem and make sure it’s resized carefully, is to pay 10c and set it further south by one tile. And so I did. Now it’s… 11×12. But at least it covers where I remember it covering. And just because the token is a tile off to the North from my original plan, I can still do it. 🙂

With this done, I went past the deed and tried to find where I had placed the guard tower. When finding it, I tried to build it there. Was now getting a “The area must be flat where you want to build this tower.” New restriction. Fine. But after awhile, I finally found a place that seemed flat, built… and it was working! I was far away from the other tower to allow it!
And when it was done, it showed “You have a moment of inspiration…”. This means you just built something that’s a rare or above. This means I have a rare guard tower!! 😀
What this means, is I get to have an additional guard that isn’t part of the 10QL = 1 guard thing.
After that, I went over to the mine and thought about luring the spider out of the mine. Did so. A few seconds later, my deed guards come running over and dealing with the spider. With it dead, I was finally able to explore my old mine. There was no other mobs in it, thankfully. However… my only iron vein is gone. This is possibly why they moved out.
Well, I can improvise. But this puts another job on my plate to do; mine down and try to find another Iron Vein. The improvising, is get as much iron as I can from the island and ship it over (once I have the forge built).

There’s also another issue. A major one. When I came back to make sure I had resized properly, a venerable troll somehow spawned infront of me. No damage came to me as I was able to outrun it. It also caused the deed to be bugged, even after the troll died. It kept saying how “This settlement is under siege” and wouldn’t allow me to check the resize. A few minutes passed and it finally unlocked. Checking the resize, I got it. The entire deed (what I remember) is now covered. All I need to do now, is ship the clay and bricks over and build that tower.
But the respawning mob thing is really worrying me. What if it happens when I’m (or Tulsi) is hauling materials over? What if it keeps happening? I have thought of re-locating the guard tower closer to the deed. There’s still the area I used to use as where I had my horses… before they got stolen by my own stupidity (the whole “deed it or lose it” rule).
Anyway, I can use this to put the guard tower. So if this continues to be a problem, it’s right there to help me. Plus it’ll be in a closer spot than up in the hills to the south of me.

So now I’m faced with another, sudden issue. All of the clay that Tulsi and I collected for the tower, is gone. Even the clay I was going to use for the new forge and stove. The clay in Tulsi’s boat, all there’s left is one piece. What the hell happened to it all?!?! D:
I feel like this may’ve been my fault. Not sure how, but… meh. Whoever’s it is, the 501 clay needs to be dug again. 😛
So I’m spending the rest of the night, digging up and placing clay on the Guard Tower near my deed. I’ll do this myself if I have to. And with Tulsi still not on right now, it looks like I’ll be doing it all on my own.
Though he finally did come on later. And sure enough… he had the clay in his cart. So it’s HIS fault now. He apologized, and shipped the clay over to me. There, he helped me for a few minutes before having to leave to do homework. Came back about 10 minutes later.

Tomorrow, I’ll likely have the tower finished. Then I’ll begin all the stages to leave the island and call Oceanside Retreat our new home. Actually looking forward to undoing all the work of the previous owners of the land. 😛
