“will not fit” / Deed guards are better than tower guards! :D

Day 6! Almost a week since I came back to Wurm! Again, no one was here. All my wounds healed up nicely(even the nearly 30 damage one). Thank goodness for that cotton.

Unfortunately I have an old (yet still new) priority that’s once again creeping up on me; Hunger. To hopefully neutralize this problem, I know I needed Willow trees near where my new deed is to make (hopefully indestructible) fishing poles.
So I started making some rafts, and fishing hooks. The rafts were(emphasis on ‘were’) going to sit in my boat to hold the small stuff, which will help to increase carrying capacity. I had to give my remaining large nails to making the rafts. They were actually for the new house, but I thought “ehh, I can make more”.

But the game decides to tell me: “The small raft will not fit in the small sailing boat.” It won’t even fit in a cart.. FFS! The reason is because, well… you guessed it! Wurm Logic! The classic “You will fucking DEAL WITH IT!! Have a nice Wurm day! :D” logic. The kind that I have always been annoyed by.
So the rafts, are useless to me now. The only way they’ll work as extra hold storage, is if I have a Corbita or up. I do plan to make another one, but in the far..FAR future. However, the rafts actually did have a current use to me.
Two things;
1. When loading a cart onto my sailboat, the hold of the boat (and the cart) must be emptied. I’m lucky I can even load A cart onto it, as both share the same 100 item limit.
2. I still had the clay to make the forge and stove. Since clay can NOT be out in the open for too long or it will decay quickly, I had to put it all into one of the rafts to keep it “air tight”. As long as it’s a container (not a pile), it won’t decay.

With these two problems sorted out (not to mention I would have to make a few trips to haul the logs back to the island, then go back and get my cart), I loaded the cart up and went back to my old place.
On my way there I spotted Tulsi’s rowboat. Went over to it and made sure he moored it. He didn’t. So I used mine and secured it, then continued to the deed.

Didn’t see the hellhound when I arrived, and it worried me a bit. Walked over to a willow tree. A few seconds later, the fucker shows up and attacks me again! Another medium wound, this time to my stomach. Again, I make a mad dash to my boat. And again, hellhounds can’t swim.
So I tried a daring move to get out of my boat, walked past the hellhound, and tried to make it for my deed. It followed me… fuck it’s fast, and vicious. But I was able to outrun it and get to my deed, running away like a pussy.
My two deed guards were ready to handle it, and they kicked its ass!!! 😀 I didn’t think they would be better than tower guards, but I feel this is money well spent.
I tried to assist with the massacre, but the hellhound kept turning my direction. And I’m all “ohh fuck that! I don’t want another wound!”

Now I see the corpse of ‘aged hell hound’ on the floor. REVENGE, BITCH!! TOLD you that you’re not going to stop me from progress! Spat on the damn thing for causing me so much grief, then went to work getting the willow trees. I chopped down three, using my cart to haul them to the boat.
After the 3rd tree, I took them all back to my cart, feeling like that should be more than enough. Though due to weight, I had to make three trips. But everything’s good now, and I managed to bandage my medium wound. Had some lights, but thankfully they healed up on their own.
On the 3rd trip to get my cart, I went up to the deed again and grabbed the corpse. If I could, I would rip its head off and put it on a pike as a way to scare away any mob that threatens my dock area.
Threw the corpse in the house, next to “bitey”. So now, Tulsi’s ‘friend’ has a ‘companion’ to ‘play’ with.

Came back after dinner, and.. well. A lot of things happened. Good things. But before I get to them, Tulsi was “lost” at sea. He had no idea how to get back to the island. So I asked him on Skype to share his screen (his iPad). He did, and I found he was at the mainland. Got him back to the island. After that, he realized he was kind of wasting his time (and even told me the day before how Wurm is keeping him away from the MRT). He doesn’t find Minecraft as boring as I do at the moment. So I let him go.

Anyway, here’s the other things that happened;
-Discovered that Hunger is no longer a requirement! It’s now optional, based around skill gaining. You will always fast, and be at 10% Nutrition. No more will you starve to death! Praise Rolf for doing this!! 😀 No more will I have to be forced to make Stew or scrounge around for a meal like a parasite! WOOT!
-Ivan came on, and turned ownership of the sailboat over to me. Now the sailboat is officially mine! I actually got a free sailboat! I can finally go cross-server now! I can use this to go to Deliverance (once Tulsi and I are settled in at Oceanside Retreat), pick up Beanietwo and get him back to the village. Not sure why he’s even there. I guess angry used him for something, then left my main for dead back at Volcano Forest. Though I did say I didn’t care what happened, because I was bored with Wurm at the time.

With the first thing no longer a problem, I can 100% focus on the Guard Tower. And that’s what I’ve been doing. I now have just over 1/4 of the bricks needed for it. Sometime tomorrow, hopefully, I should make the 501st brick.
Though I still wonder how I’m going to haul them to Oceanside Retreat and setup the Guard Tower. Probably take the cart over first, then haul the bricks while Tulsi hauls the clay over.
I’ve also noted that I can only carry up to 94 bricks in a small cart. I’m almost certain it was 100 before. But oh well. Nothing I can do about that. Even if I was to build a large cart, I don’t have any animals that could pull the cart. I’m not even sure if you can load an animal that cannot swim into your boat as you can with something else.
