My original thoughts with this game were “The hell is this shit?!” But it actually teaches you a lesson. Who you feel is a fucking-bird killing douchebag who deserved to die a horrible death, may’ve not been his fault. Not always is the true story in black and white.
This game is based around such choices, and of two characters with stories that eventually clash into eachother. Literally. One is a guy who works for Hyperion, and wants to be just like Handsome Jack(just like everyone else that works for Hyperion), and the other is a person who lived a hard life on Pandora, but got raised up (in a life of crime).
How you play these stories is entirely up to you. But be very careful how you pick them, as there’s a forced time limit.
So here’s the review, so far. Expect edits as I continue to play this once “ugh” now interesting game. And at the end of each episode, it gives you a summery of your choices, and what other players have chosen;
Good;
-Two stories that you can control.
-Music from Borderlands 2.
-Memorial characters from Borderlands 1 and 2 appear.
-Still has the same graphics as Borderlands.
-Hilarious scenes at times, and they’re based on what you picked as your dialog options.
Bad…;
-Forced time limit to choose a dialog option.
-Limited options. Can’t set your controls. Barely supports multi-monitors.
-Feels like it took ideas from other dialog-driven games (like “Person will remember this” is from ‘Game of Thrones’).
-The game tries to get you into making a Telltale Games account, and won’t stop harping you until you break down and do it.
Just completed Episode 1 and 2. There’s going to be up to five episodes of this game. And I really like what I saw. Yes, having time limits on picking dialog sucks, but what happens in the game is pretty cool. It’s just something I’ll have to look over, and focus.
