WoW: Tauren Hunter now 85

So I got my second Hunter to 85. But again, no fireworks going up and no chorus singing, but this time I don’t feel ashamed of him.
It’s just… getting to 85 wore out its joy after Benie got it. Why not Level 90? Why only 5 levels? Blizzard listed the reason before, but I didn’t read it, nor can I find it.

Anyway, thanks to the rested XP I had to Level 83, I was able to get ahead even my Rogue when he dinged in Twilight Highlands. Dinged in Dragonmaw Hold, after defeating their corrupted fel warchief and turning in the quest.

Now, to talk about how I got here. I saw no difference in Deepholm and Uldum on the Horde side. But in Uldum, several things happened that were different than what my Rogue went through. Also, I was able to afford 280% speed flying, so that’s good.
Now, in Uldum, the quest that isn’t listed as a “(Group)” quest but involves killing an Elite. I started by pulling the elite’s guards away and killing them, then started working on the elite.
It went good until he summoned the snakes. I thought I could take them out with Multi-Shot so I used it, and it didn’t kill them. Snakes went over and started to delightfully kick my fat ass. And they managed to kill me. Rage time. 😛

Came back and… it was like I did nothing. Tried to think of another way to do this, thinking I may have to ask for help. Suddenly I heard fighting behind me, and a Level 83 Worgen Druid popped up and started attacking the non-elites. I thought “meh..” at first, wishing that was my Druid, then though “Heh.. good luck” then another person joins him. A Shaman. Both Alliance.
They start attacking the elite, and I’m thinking “fuck…” but then notice that the elite isn’t tagged so they would get the quest credit and not me.
Seeing that, I immediately started attacking the elite.. and got it!! I thanked them and left the area. Hellscream would’ve been pissed about that.

The next thing is Neferset City, taking down the two named guys before the boss. I took down the scorp tamer guy in one go. But the biggest thing that helped to redeem my fail Rogue, was defending the group going up the mountain to secure it.
It was a hard as hell battle, but I managed to get three left, just like my Rogue did to the top. My pet tried to keep the baddies off of them but failed and died. Feign Death saved my life, and the baddies are attacking the final guy so I would fail again. I was like “NO!!! I will NOT fail this time!!”

I quickly resurrected my pet to have one final chance at this, and did it! The mountain got secured! So that finally proved I could do it, and redeemed my Rogue. That quest bugged the hell out of me that I couldn’t do it, and I was able to do the rest of the quest chain, capturing Neferset City.. which lead to a dungeon quest.
The last thing in Uldum I want to mention, is the best quest ever [Gnomebliteration], seemed.. bugged to me on the Horde side. First thing I saw was the Fusion Core, was invisible. But I went with it. It was still fun rolling over those gnomes with it. But something happened with the fusion core and it went invisible again, only showing gnomes that got stuck to it. When I got done with it, I decided to do it again. This time, the quest wasn’t working like it should. Seemed like I was lagging.
Alittle later, I saw another guy doing the same quest, and he was getting the gnomes, but I wasn’t. So I decided to get out, but the fusion core did not let me out. I was able to roll around all over Uldum! Was really funny, yet I was also lagging.
Places I would see other mobs, I saw nothing. Yet I still heard the sound of gnomes being ran over, and seeing gnomes stuck to the ball. So I tried to relog and showed up back at the area where you roll over the gnomes, under attack. Made it out of there alive. That’s pretty much it.

Since I was done with Uldum with 10% to go to 85, I flew back to Org where I grabbed ‘Warchief’s Command: Twilight Highlands!” and had to speak to the new Warchief of the Horde, Gorrash Hellscream.
Preparing to go to Twilight Highlands is alot different than the Alliance side. Starts off of making sure Hellscream’s War Machines are ready, trusting the Goblins in building them. Then it went to go to the new area in Azshara; Bildgewater Cartel, of checking to see if everything is ready to go to the Highlands. Having to deal with AWOL Soldiers and stuff like that.

It all lead up to being part of the Horde’s air fleet. The air was filled with zeppelins and planes. It was awesome. Soon we were over Wetlands, approaching the Highlands. One of the zeppelins was destroyed by its pilot being stupid and crashing it into a wall. When we entered the Highlands, Hellscream showed up next to us and started his “we will take this land FOR THE HORDE!!!” and yadda yadda yadda. Then the Twilight’s Hammer began to attack us. First Deathwing showed up, then the twilight drakes.
Meanwhile, the sea fleet began to be attacked by the Alliance, and Hellscream with his pure hate for them stupidly told our defense to aid the sea fleet, leaving us open to attack. And attack we got. Zeppelins going down one by one of the twilight drakes. Hellscream was under attack by one of the drakes and kicked its ass, but his zeppelin went down too.

Soon it was “our turn”, and one of the twilight drakes gets entangled in the cabling attaching the blimp to the carriage, but still was able to attack. Now the zeppelin’s going down, forcing you to abandon ship and get the fuck off of it before it too crashes.
Back in Azshara, there was these two goblins that try to show you how these special parachutes work. Should’ve told me that those parachutes would come in handy.
I landed on one of the Horde sea fleets which was still seaworthy, and all I could think of is “HOLY SHIT that was awesome! I wanna do that again!”

Now, I had to get the Dragonmaw Clan to ally with the Horde. Turns out the Warchief is from Outland. The same guy who you tried to tell about Thrall and the Horde, way before Cata was announced. You’re forced to kill him, which finally unites the clan with the Horde. I, personally, want them all to burn in hell, never will forget what they did to the Nether Drakes back in Outland. But I try to tell myself that they must’ve been corrupted (they were working with Illidan), and this is the ‘good version’ of the Dragonmaw.

So now I have my first Horde 85, I guess it’s time to make that Goblin Warlock. Haven’t thought of a good name yet. Something like “Darkcash”, maybe. Starting to have second thoughts about making the char, though… with Gorrash Hellscream being the Warchief, I imagine I’m going to be forced to do alot of things to ruin it for the Alliance. Liked it better when Thrall was the Warchief.
In a way I want to see how it’s like leveling on the Horde side, in the “new” Azeroth. I imagine I’m going to be questing mainly in Kalimdor, like my Rogue quested mainly in the Eastern Kingdoms. But I don’t want to see “we must kill the Alliance!”. I did my best to ignore that on my Tauren Hunter. But with Org looking more… menacing, will the new quests to level you to 60, really push you to be evil and hate the Alliance?

I was planning on doing two things for my Tauren Hunter;
1. Questing for fun on the Horde side in Twilight Highlands.
2. Do… the rep to get a Nether Drake again. I can use wowreputationcalculator.com to see how many times I have to do quests, and how many days to become Exalted with them.

WoW: Leveling to 85 on the Horde side

First off, I brought my Druid “back from the grave” about four days ago. Found out the hacker sold all of his gear which Blizzard helped to restore. Had to re-skill into Feral and shit like that.
Also, Thorns got nerfed.. badly. It used to last a half an hour (even then it was annoying to keep it active). Now it lasts for 20 seconds.

I did what I planned to do; re-train myself to level as a Druid by going to The Storm Peaks in Northrend. Got good with Cat Form, then decided I was ready for Cata questing.
It started pretty much the same way it did with my Rogue, but I did my best to ignore it… until I tried to do the [In the Rear With the Gear] quest, that involves two mobs, an ogre and a random mob walking together, with three slaves behind them.

On my Rogue, I simply sapped the ogre and killed the random mob, then looted and vanished. My Druid isn’t so lucky, especially the fact I’m not trained for multiple high health mobs, all hitting me at the same time.
I tried using Entangling Roots on the ogre so I could just kill the random mob, but roots can break quicker than it’s stated on the tooltip, and had for me alot, allowing the ogre to run up to me full speed and attempt to knock me into last week.

I eventually gave up, then flew back to GS in hopes I could ask another Druid to train him to know what to do and when, since mob training isn’t going to work, since mobs won’t stop attacking you and say “ok, good. Now do this”. I got no such help. So… for two days, I was on Benie, waiting for Terlarer to get on, in hopes he would give me the advice I need to keep going. But I got sick of waiting for him and decided to ‘leave’ the unhelpful Alliance for awhile and join the Horde as my Tauren Hunter, Beefhunter.

I’m not going to seek revenge on them, though. But anyway, another reason was to make a Goblin Warlock. Since I’ve seen how the Worgen start, it’s time to see how the Goblins start. Once my Hunter hits 85, I will make said Goblin.
But I instantly ran into snags when I logged in as my hunter. One being I didn’t have enough to get 280% flight speed and the flight master’s license. But Blizzard also restored something for him; his gold. Gave me enough just to afford the license. I also had to … somehow alot of the skills I had when I was leveling him up were forgotten. My Druid went through this as well.

So with that matter taken care of, I started up leveling to 85 on the Horde side, wondering if it’s different. From what I’ve seen, leveling in Mount Hyjal is no different, except this Orc sees Worgen as “flea-ridden”.
Saw a few changes in Vashj’ir. There’s some new Horde-only quests. But there’s something that really bugged me. The quest descriptions were exactly like the Alliance side, said by the Horde. And there’s also ones where it seems the leader of the group I was in when I got on the boat outside of Org, actually had… feelings!

One example is the Bio Fuel quest, when you get the ingredients. The goblin says about caring about the environment… since when do the Horde care about the environment?! They just didn’t seem like the war-thirsty savages that I always saw the Horde being.

But it does start turning back into what the Horde should be, seeing one telling me “if I must die, I want our greatest enemies to go with us!” During the final battle, the guy (leader of the group again) treated the shaman like shit. And after the Shaman was captured, the guy said something like “follow me if you got the balls”. Completely different from the dramatic Alliance version of: “Do what you will.. I’m going after him!”

Anyway, there’s two other things I want to mention; both about addons I use.
First one is Pawn. I use it to tell me to upgrade my gear. But now I feel it’s giving me the wrong information. Everytime it tells me to upgrade and it’s a BM item, there’s always less Haste with it. Hunters need haste! Haste helps to attack faster.
Second thing, not as serious. Atlas. How come it’s not showing Cata dungeons? The only one I see is The Stonecore in Deepholm. But it does show the classic raid dungeons that were re-added in 4.1. ZG and AQ20/AQ40.
There’s also Zul’Aman. I have no idea where that is, but it’s a raid dungeon.

WoW: Yay..85. Why I feel I don’t deserve it

My Rogue’s road to 85 has reached the finish line today. I dinged in Twilight Highlands, earlier than Benie did. I can thank Mount Hyjal for that, for giving me an “early lead”.

But the fireworks and chorus aren’t happening for me. I don’t deserve to be 85. Why? I still hit like a feather while the enemy hits like its made out of a brick wall. Yet I read on Wowhead after failing to do a ‘defend thing’ quest three times; that “Blizzard has come to the conclusion that dungeons and raiding are the only things players care about, and that everybody quests in groups.” This is very true of what I went through to get this far.

When I was 84 and in Uldum, it was like I was still a Level 80, because I was still taking too long of bringing one guy down. Was told that I would do better once I get Cata gear. This appears to be untrue as I have full Cata quest gear now.

Speaking of Uldum, before I got there, I was at Menethil Harbor. The boat left as I was flying in. Tried to get on it but it left before I got close enough.
Before the boat came back, the sky/ground turned red. I knew what this meant. Deathwing’s coming! Sure enough about 20 minutes later, I see him to the east of me, burning away but way too far to kill me again. I decided to fly over to him, and saw him disappear. Then the sky/ground went back to normal.

So anyway… I’ve done quests Benie didn’t, including one I assumed was a Horde-only quest. The one I saw of this small Horde group trying to bring down this 83 Elite. I too had to do it. Guy nearly took my head off, but I got unexpected help from allies.
The elite moves slow, which gives you time to lure him to crock egg traps to slow him down even more. Trouble is, there’s mobs everywhere around this pit that can aggro.

Later, I had to do this quest for the king of Ramkahen, of getting this small group up this mountain. Sounds simple, but here’s the twist. There’s three times you have to defend the group from a dozen enemies, on your own, and if they die you fail the quest. I gave up trying to do it. 😛 I doubt Benie could do this, as it requires a high-DPS person. Each one of them has high health and high hitting.

Seeing I wasn’t going to get to 85 in Uldum, I was forced to go to the Twilight Highlands. Did the King’s quests in SW to get to the zone, and went there. While doing quests there I suddenly ran out after doing the defending the siege tank one. Turns out you have to do the one that involves getting flagged for PvP to continue questing. Fortunately, the Alliance already has control of the beach. So all I had to do was fly over to the flag.. and boom. Quest done. Turn in, and I got more quests.

I was at the area where I remember Benie doing the hilariously-named quest; “They Took Me Pants!“.
I was doing the one that involved killing the Dragonmaw orcs there. Was at 100% XP, yet didn’t ding when I turned it in. One more kill to go. Killed and “Congratulations, you’ve reached Level 85!” showed up in my General tab.

It took me awhile to get over that I finally did what I wanted to do, which was to get my Rogue to 85. But no celebrations were done. Half of me did want to start dancing, like I did when I hit 80. But the other half did not. And so I flew back to the portal to SW and went to GS.

The night was mainly quiet. A few people tried to duel me. Two auctions in the AH I put in expired, so I flew back to SW to put them back in. Noticed the Hero’s Call! board had a new quest.
I thought it was probably “Hero’s Call: Tol Barad!”. Instead, it was about trolls that suddenly shown up in Stormwind Harbor. So I flew over and saw the Darkspear trolls needed help in STV. I assume this had to do with the 4.1 patch, of ZG coming back.

Flew to STV, did some quests, got this cute Panda Cub pet, then had to defend the Rebel Camp. As I said earlier in this blog post, I died three times and wanted to scream bloody murder.
You see, I’m having to defend the camp from an infinite onslaught of trolls. Soon as the quest is started, it’s like all the trolls target me. Even using Stealth, they can see me as if I’m not.

I went to Wowhead, and see I’m not alone. Others were also raging over this quest, saying it’s impossible to solo. And there’s where I saw, what I copypasta’d in here. Since then I started to think “Maybe I do deserve to be 85.”

Back in GS, was this duel going on infront of me. After the duel, they started talking about how they leveled in Cata, so I “stepped into” their convo by saying I hit like a feather and they hit like a brick wall. And asked one of them if my Druid would do better.
He looked at me and said “lOL NO”. For him to say that, proves I suck at Melee classes and don’t deserve 85. I don’t even deserve 280% flight speed.

But take a look at Benie. He sucks too. But he can solo alot better than my Rogue can. Yeah, he had trouble getting to 85. But not as much as my Rogue did. My Hunter can freeze. My Hunter can Feign death… Rogues can’t.
I like to give the person that told me “rogues are wow on easy mode” a piece of my mind. Hunters, to me, are “wow on easy mode”.

One last thing. Before the duel was going on, I asked one of them who was a guildie of Terlarer’s guild, Spawn More Overlords, why he hasn’t been back on. He seemed like he went AFK so I waited. Then he says “ok”. And “OK”, and “banned 8 days for spamming”. I questioned him thinking he was talking about me, but he was still talking about Terlarer, saying he spammed his guild chat and was banned for it.
I tried to ask more, like “When will he be back” and “What was he spamming”, but the guy doesn’t know. So this answers why he hasn’t been back in a week. Last time I saw him was when I hit 77, and he said to keep it up.

Hopefully he’ll be back soon. I need his advice badly.

WoW: 4th time’s the charm / A new respect for Mount Hyjal

Well, guess what happened to my Rogue today? He’s now an 81! Yes.. an 81. My second-highest char now. He’s also, shockingly, not getting his ass kicked anymore.

How my Rogue got to 81 is a long story. Back in GS, I was still wondering how am I going to grind his First Aid up to use Embersilk cloth. Thought of searching for an addon that would assist me in grinding for the mats. To tell me how many more I would need, and what humanoids drop it. There’s nothing like that anywhere. I also stupidly asked Trade chat, which I was laughed at for.

Alittle later, my other friend, Monkeyguy PMs me and asks if I’m going to stay a Level 80 forever. His words angered me since I already told him before why I cannot. Told him I needed better gear, and I might be forced to start raiding. All he did was laugh.
So I asked the unhelpful person if he knew what else would help me, and he said to continue questing in Cata areas.
Does he not know what I’m saying? I can’t do it!! I had to tell him again that’s impossible for me due to fact I get my ass kicked.
He said, that this is perfectly normal, and to trust him. Who knew those somewhat helpless words would mean something, and would actually help me.

First I needed to get my FA(First Aid) up, to be at par with Cata. Youtube helped me this time, giving me a quick yet not too cheap way to get to skill level 400. Which.. meant go to the AH and buy the mats.
The process took like an hour, and it nearly made me broke, but I got it done. Now, was the matter of using them instead of food, and also ignore the thought they can kick my ass.

Back in Mount Hyjal, I tried to kill a few guys. I wanted to see if I did better damage with either Combat, or Sub on two of the same mob. The results were interesting (and so was this chest piece I got from a quest reward).
Sub does more DPS, but Energy regens slower. I can do more on Combat.

About the chest piece I mentioned. It seemed that since I put it on, I was taking alot less of a beating than before. It was like I’ve been buffed. Been finding other upgrades for my gear, allowing me to hit harder and survive longer. Looks like Monkeyguy was right. His words were gibberish, yet… were right. And soon he finally dinged to 81.

.
Now for another thing I wanted to go over. When I was in Mount Hyjal as Benie, I said the place sucked due to the lack of quests. Actually… what sucked was the lack of my eyes, seeing there is other quests.

I now see a reason why alot of people like this place, and now have a respect for the area. It’s due to the lore. Getting the ancients to save Hyjal from burning to the ground due to the Twilight’s Hammer cult, and the Firelord, Ragnaros. Some of the quests I haven’t done yet are actually alot of fun.
Such as the one of climbing trees and saving bear cubs, then chucking them at a landing pad. And the one where this disembodied voice tells you that you’re now in control of healing “the mountain”, which is Hyjal.

This leads up to actually battling with Ragnaros to banish him from Hyjal and send him back to Molten Core, with three other elites assisting you. And this is where I hit 82. But I found the battle.. sub-par. I wish he fought like…. well.. I never actually fought him because I never did MC. He just didn’t fight like a raid boss should (especially the fact he’s one of the classic yet popular raid bosses). All I can say.
Though he yelled like a raid boss, so I guess that was good enough.

Now I’m back in Vashj’ir, kicking the ass of every non-elite I see. I’ve never felt so powerful and confident before. Every Naga I’ve seen, I attack so fucking fast now, and manage to kill them with 95-97% health. Sometimes… they don’t lay a claw on me.

WoW: Level 80, and not being able to go any higher

So I got my Rogue to Level 80 today, making him my third Level 80 I own.
Well that’s great and all, but he’s not good enough to go any further, and I feel like once again I wasted my time.
I guess I can say it’s amazing enough I got my Rogue to Level 80. But… beyond that is impossible with my current gear. My Rogue had so many firsts happening to him, though.
First to get killed by Deathwing. First Rogue to hit Level 80. First EP character to hit a high level (my Draenei chars never got that high). And.. first character to solo the ‘Betrayal’ quest.
The 3rd alone is impressive. Benie, Benthedruid, and Beefhunter were all unable to do that without help. I still say they made the quest easier, by not resetting the quest if you die. Got him down to 37% health, when I got back he was still there and I got him.

I debated if I should take my Rogue to Vashj’ir, knowing my gear isn’t where I need it to be, and knowing how much trouble Benie had there. Especially after soloing SFK and BRD for the two Rogue item quests. I took so fucking long to kill bosses, when it took Benie alot less time to. It was pathetic, yet… not surprising, with my “caring” about good gear.

Eventually, I decided to man up and do it. Got to the pier of the Northrend boat. Waited awhile then saw a bunch of Alliance guards walking down the pier and start talking.
I saw this Level 85 with me, who boarded the boat. Apparently you can redo this thing as an 85? Or, wait ’till someone else (like myself) does the quest.

Finally staring at the quest giver, I do the quest to get the Sea Legs buff that I can breath underwater, then I get told to save my fellow soldiers.
Since there right around where those fucking high HP/hitting Naga are, I try to avoid them. Unfortunately I aggroed a few. It seemed like I was fighting a fucking elite back in Northrend. I was literally getting my ass kicked! Was forced to use Vanish just to stay alive.

So then I try to kill just one Naga. Took a MINUTE to bring him down doing the same thing that got me to 80, and he had me at 20% health after. That was just one guy…… I really don’t know what to say, except I’m pathetic.
So I surfaced, mounted up and headed back to GS, where I’m currently typing this depressing blog post.

This is just like when Benie started, and he had better gear than me. But he had his pets to help him out. Still, they still hit like elite mobs. My Rogue has no one, yet shouldn’t need to since Rogues are supposed to hit harder than their enemy. I… cannot.

The guy I’ve been talking to who stopped myself from quitting instead of attempting to get to 80, Terlarer, said I would “rip shit up” when I hit Level 80. I told him I doubt it, and I wish I wasn’t right. Wish he was on right now. Because I really need his guidance. But.. what could he do, except tell me to do what I already know; get better gear.

To tell you the truth, this pisses me off more than saddens. Not of me.. of Blizzard. They think when you hit Level 80, that you’ll have epic gear by then. And this… is unfortunately true. Being Level 80 means you’re leet, know how to play your class by now, and have the best gear you can get. I’m not any of that.
This is not like preparing to level in TBC, and WoTLK, where they have Level #8 mobs for you to kill. This is what helped me get to the next level cap. Now… it’s impossible without it. Both Vashj’ir and Mount Hyjal are 80-82, instead of 78-82 (which they should be…).

Seeing this defeat, it’s unlikely my Druid will have a shot at Level 85. The only other potential 85 I see is Beefhunter — My Horde Hunter. Even at that, he’ll have it hard.
This is why I dislike making Melee chars that can’t heal during battle, or are too complicated to master (such as Paladins and Priests).

WoW: Level 70 Rogue, but some bad news

Been dodging severe weather IRL all this week. Made it kinda tough to level with the constant threat of tornadoes, damaging winds, and of course the catastrophic flooding. Thankfully that mess is finally moving away from me. Not without leaving its mark in the south, though. I pray they survived.

Anyway, my Rogue hit another milestone today. Level 70! I’m now ready for Northrend questing, but there was a really painful wrench that got thrown into my plans. Not of the questing itself, but.. getting a faster mount.

You see, I heard rumors that they lowered the price of Artisan riding (280% speed) training, due to making 310% speed available for everyone instead of just for an Arena reward, that only a chosen few have gotten. That… unfortunately is not true. They did not… lower the price down. Infact, it’s the same price that has plagued me for a year since Benie hit 70. The same.. fucking.. 5,000g. The very thing that forced me to pay for gold. But that didn’t save me from the agonizing length of the Netherwing rep quests.

You know what’s worse? The 310% speed training is the same fucking price as the 280% speed. The reason for this outrage, isn’t surprising. It’s due to how easy it is to get gold through quest rewards after leaving Outland.
When I was questing to 85, it’s like they were throwing coin away. 14g for completing one quest. This is why they haven’t lowered the cost. And Wowhead, all they say is “get professions going” or “go quest”, or “go raid”. No ‘get mount QUICK’ ways.

My Rogue’s story with this started when I finally hit 70 in Shadowmoon Valley. Shockingly, Netherstorm didn’t do it like it did for my Druid. Can’t remember where my Tauren Hunter hit 70. I was at the exact same area that Benie was at, thinking I was going to get that discount. My mouth dropped to the floor when I saw “5000” in bold red letters of the cost of the training.

“What.. the.. FUCK?! No.. no no NO!! IT CAN’T BE 5k!” I yelled, then realized that “Wait. This is from Ironforge rep, which I don’t have. Maybe it’s cheaper in SW.”, so I hearthed to GS, flew to SW’s Flight Trainer, and saw the cost was reduced to 1,000g, making it only 4k. WOW! SO MUCH CHEAPER! 😛

I wanted to rage.. so badly, and also cry, and whine and everything else I could do of this injustice of not getting what I want when I want it.
I continued to stare at the bold-lettered ‘4000’ training cost, hoping if I stare at it enough the price will go down. Alas, that didn’t work.
This is forcing me to do something I don’t like doing. No, not buying more gold. Done with that. It is… living with what I got. UGH! And also, being thankful that they not only lowered the cost of Cold Weather Flying by 600g, but made it where you can get it at 68 instead of 78.

After alot of feeling sorry for myself, I went on and got the 400g Northrend flight access training, coating my mount with anti-freeze technology. Seeing how it’s night, I went back to GS to wait for the sun to come back up. I want to go to Northrend with the sun up.

One thing I noticed, was those dumb eggs are now scattered around the Forge house. Managed to get alot of eggs before others saw what I was doing and started helping themselves.

Time passed on, then I suddenly stopped with a thought in my head. “Does Benie have 3k?” I wondered. Knowing if he did, he could put said money in the guild bank and I can get it out. Another reason for having my fake guild. lol
So I went on Benie. Thanks to the 4.1.0 update, alot of addons are broken. The ‘FeedOMatic’ one that I use for obviously, feeding my pets, is broken in such a way that its UI keeps coming up when I right click anything. Disabled it and got right clicking working as it should.

Indeed, Benie DOES have the 3k I need. So I rushed him to the guild bank vault and deposited the 3k in. Then I hopped in Beniehowl and noticed, I couldn’t get it out. The Withdraw button is grayed out.
Back on Benie, found the issue and fixed it. Then back on the Worgen and saw the Withdraw button available.
Quickly grabbed the 3k, ran as fast as I could back to the flight trainer and paid for the 280% speed training! Woot! Didn’t pay for an epic flying mount though, since I don’t need one and they’re a waste of money now.

I will pay Benie back the 3k when I can. When I got back to GS, I saw an 85 Worgen with a 150% speed flying mount. Began to wonder if getting the 3k was a good idea, or just my own personal greed. I say the greed since none of my other high leveled chars have 280% training. Not even my Druid who is my ‘second in command’ of all the chars I’ve made over the years.
Well, there’s no turning back now. The money’s spent and the only way to get it back, is to quest in Northrend.

I was already thinking if I was doing the right thing, as I was on Benie. Kept wondering “What about my Druid? How’s he going to get his epic flying? And any other chars when they ever get to 70.” Yet the only thing going through my mind was “I WANT MY FAST MOUNT BACK!!”
It’s just, I feel the fact I got my first EVER Level 70 Rogue char (and I worked my ass off to get him where he is now), he deserves to be treated with respect. Did think of my Druid and contemplated if I should turn him into a Worgen. Just one.. quick bite.

lol. The first ever Worgen Night Elf. Who knows. Might just make a Worgen Druid to replace my current one, just to learn how to play as one again.
Been also thinking of making another Horde char. A Goblin Mage maybe. And this one would have Engineering/Mining professions.

But before I can make any other char, I have to get rid of my low level ones. Can’t make another on my account ’till I do.

WoW: 4.1.0 patch day and extended maintenance

What I thought was just going to be another day of maintenance turned into a patch. Servers are still down past the 11am PDT deadline, with no reason why.
Obvious though that the patch is causing it. If I knew this, I wouldn’t of stopped playing my Rogue due to the boredom of leveling.
I first thought this also affected the forums, but they finally “unlocked” enough for me to figure out what’s going on. Something about the servers should be back up by 3:30pm EDT. We shall see.

Speaking of said Rogue, he’s now Level 67, in Netherstorm. Was hoping to get back to work on him today to hopefully hit 70. But due to this unfortunate extended downtime, that’s not possible.
Had a hell of a time in Nagrand yesterday, trying to get help for the numerous group quests — mostly for the ‘Level 3’ Animal Mastery quests. Finally got ahold of an 85 who helped with all but Durn the Hungerer (which doesn’t need to be done).

I also was on my Rogue, to do what I still wonder what the hell was wrong with me — the Noblegarden quests — the stupid eggs and ‘Bunny Form’. Basically, I went back to SW to sell what I’ve been collecting to the AH. Actually sold one thing while still putting other items in. Came back and decided to do the thing.
Was pretty much the same fucking thing last year. Everyone around the Inn, camping the eggs so no one else can get them. Seriously, they should get RID of this stupid, pointless holiday. All it is, is a big egg grind fest.

The servers came up about 5-7 minutes after Blizzard claimed they “will” come up. It shows all of my chars are scattered between several servers. But when my server came up, I saw them all in it.
Lots of changes have been done. What I’ve seen for my Rogue are two; the ‘Running Wild’ Worgen mount has a new icon, and the speed penalty has been removed for Stealth. Don’t know if it’s been removed for all levels, but I didn’t see it.

WoW: Beniehowl ‘Stood in the Fire’ (Deathwing attacks)

HOLY FUCK!!!!!! Ok. I just got done from SW, checking on how much it will take my now Level 56 Rogue to fly in Azeroth. It will cost me 440g.
200g for the License, 200g for the training, and 40g for the mount. I can afford the training and mount, but Benie will have to give me the 200 for the license.

EDIT: Hit Level 60 today (April 22nd)! Hit it in Un’Goro. I had over 500g when I got to SW, enough to afford everything. When I got there and talked with the flying trainer, I noticed that the Flight Master’s License requires 225 riding skill and Level 70. I raged quite a bit (due to knowing I’ve seen Level 60’s on flying mounts in Azeroth), then felt like a total idiot when I realized something. Getting the training gives you the 225 riding skill, and I completely screwed up my thinking with the Level 70 thing. That’s the 280% Flight speed increase (which unlocks Netherwing rep). Bought the training, then saw I could buy the license and did, and bought a Golden Griffon as my flying mount (like Benie did).
Also noticed, that you can get Cold Weather Flying (flying in Northrend) at 68 instead of 78. This will help greatly once my Rogue hits 70.

Anyway, I FP’d back to the Blasted Lands to do more questing — killing Hyenas for their blood for a Blood Mage. I just got finished killing one, and about a second after I looted the corpse, I… died unexpectedly.
I wanted to say “What the fuck?”, then I noticed I had gotten an achievement. The “Stood in the Fire” achievement. My eyes suddenly lit up, then I looked up and saw Deathwing, burning the area just northwest of me. After I hit the Release Spirit button and ran back to my corpse, I wanted to scream bloody murder “I GOT IT!! WOOT!!!”

This is the second encounter I had with him. First time was in The Fungal Vale in the Eastern Plaquelands. When he showed up, the sky and the ground got red, and I saw him on the horizon. But he was too far away for me to get a screenshot.

This time, he was nearly right on top of me, raining down death with his constant fire breath. I wasn’t alerted of his presence (the ground is already red, so I couldn’t tell). But I saw the sky, and “Deathwing’s Molten Flame instantly kills Beniehowl.” in my Combat tab. Never got the 10% broken gear penalty for dying.
He flew south, and the sky went back to normal.
So, only I got it, like Deathwing was hunting me down since the first encounter. He put the ‘Mark of Death’ on me but never did the job until now.

Portal 2: GLaDOtatoeS, Singing Turrets, and Tests! Oh my!

I’ve got so caught up in WoW (and getting my Rogue to Level 60), that I forgot Portal 2 got released. I just completed the Single Player campaign (thank god…).

You learn alot about Aperture Science’s lore. The start of it when it was named ‘Aperture Industries’ back in the 1960’s to now, who Cave Johnson is, and Caroline, and the “relationship” of Aperture and Black Mesa.

And Wheatley. He was funny. Not hilarious, but funny. Maybe it was just me. I was too busy trying to get from Point A to Point B as quick as possible, but at times I listened to what was going on. I’m sure as I play the SP campaign more and more and get used to the tests, I’ll find the comedy more funny.
GLaDOS, however, as just as funny as she was in the original.

The testing, actually made me rage… alot. But again, just me.
I do say the game was worth the hype. Complex.. raging puzzles that can take hours just to solve one (and dying alot), and even from the start there’s action.
The graphics are amazing. The “goop” as I call it (the Bounce, Speed, and Portal goop) is as amazing as they showed in the demo, and how you can manipulate it to do what you need to do. Like take out turrets you can’t safely do.

There’s alot more testing than than the original Portal. Some of those said tests, I found “impossible” to complete. Used noclip alot. Not proud of what I did, but .. at most times it helped me to figure out how to get to where I need to go, and did the area legit.
The final tests (including the final battle), I had to use Youtube to figure out how to do them. I feel pathetic doing that.

I will be playing this game again in the future (may even play the game in the new Co-Op mode), and it will be fully legit.

WoW: Rogue now 4th highest-leveled char I’ve made

Can’t believe I made it this far with my Rogue. Passed the stale Level 20 mark that killed all of my attempts to be one, and now he’s 37. Currently in Booty Bay.

He’s come a long way too. Let’s just go over a list of what’s happened for him;
* Horde griefing Darkshire by killing all quest NPC’s. I was in western Duskwood doing classic and new quests. When I got there, it’s like “Horde attacking? What?” Not even a corpse to indicate there was a battle.

* Alliance wanting to kill Org’s bank NPC’s. In NSTV (Northern Stranglethorn), was questing and a guy starts asking for people to kill Org’s banker for some strange reason. Wanted to say “Looking for people to grief the Horde”, but it would’ve been best to keep quiet.

* An adorable baby raptor who took a liking to me and I got attached to it that’s now trapped in ZG, and I’m too low level to get her out (hell.. Benie’s too low-geared to do it!). I still miss her, but the quest chain makes no sense. She wanted me to resurrect this guy, just so he can take her to ZG. Like she was using me. But maybe using me to prove my strength of killing him.

*A bot or a guy that’s been hacked killing the Bloodsail Buccaneers while I’m trying to do quests for them. This pally was using this teleport hack to go to areas every five minutes, and just farm. Yet.. the guy wasn’t looting the corpses.

* Booty Bay dramatically under attack by Worgen pirates. The attack to me was.. bland. Alot of “panic” but not pure panic. Was kinda awesome when I had to get to the highest point in Booty Bay and jump down onto a pirate ship and immediately start killing everyone. Had to kill the leader of the invasion. I was knocked out and showed up back in Booty Bay like nothing happened.

And now, Kalimdor is calling to me. Do I dare answer, or stay in Eastern Kingdoms? Either way, I’m done with STV all together. Can’t believe how much fun I had doing some of the new quests. Mostly of the Bloodsail ones (the Cow Head to make the Bloodsail recruiter think I killed the Tauren, was one of the ones I laughed my head off).
Another funny one is the quest title “Call of Booty”, due to it having the name of the game “Call of Duty”.
