HDS 1 & 2 done with friends (in VR) — “I’m never doing the Teddy Challenge ever again!!”

A few days ago, I did Part 1 of the HDS with friends. Had a few issues (but none of them were related to my controllers);
1. In the Coffin Room, I got stuck on the side of the coffin (twice). 3rd time I finally got it.
2. After completing The Halls and the big door is available, I couldn’t click on it. You have to climb up the door and click on the frame. Never had that happen when I solo’d the dungeon.

Part 2, was quite frustrating. I dedicated myself to doing the Teddy Challenge (mainly because A: I wanted to be the hero. And B: I didn’t trust them to understand how important this is). Found out it’s even harder to do it. Not only can you not drop it, but you can’t hand it to another player.
A few other things I learned;
-Dropping the teddy, the next puzzle gets bugged (forcing a new instance to be made).
-The teddy occasionally jumpscares everyone.
-Trusting others with the teddy, can break friendships (when I’m all “I don’t see teddy in your hands! Don’t tell me you dropped it!”.. I wouldn’t be so on edge if the rules were a bit more lenient).
——
So there’s a part where you can finally let teddy go (safely). I won’t say where, but I was able to do the fear rooms. And this, is when things began to get extremely frustrating for me.
The first fear room, took 10+ minutes to get through… a feat that would had been done in less than a minute with Desktop (as all you had to do is keep your hand off your mouse).

With the way the WMR controllers are, if your left thumb isn’t -exactly- centered when wanting to go forward, you’ll veer to the left or right (depending on the way your thumb moves). Fell off the platform, several times.
Get to the point where you jump across.. veer to the left, veer to the right.. ARGH!! I FUCKING HATE CONTROLLERS!! Not just motion controllers, but controllers in general! I’ve been used to a keyboard/mouse WAY too long.
FINALLY fucking made it (learned how to keep my thumb from moving), and all I wanted to do was throw the controllers down in rage.

The rest of the fear rooms were actually pretty good in VR. The only thing I didn’t like is how dark my headset made things (to where I couldn’t even see what was attacking me, such as the ‘Fear of Snakes’ one).
Got to The Vats; here you can pick up teddy again and carry it through the boss battles. They wanted me to carry it, but I wanted someone else to do it (as I knew the boss battles would be impossible for me). We had another guy with VR that eventually grabbed it.
And sure enough, they were quite impossible for me. Soon as the parkour stage happened, I couldn’t get past the second jump.. veered left, veered right.
Finally we got to the final boss, and I noticed a major bug as soon as we started it. The message about teamwork.. didn’t go away. I could only assume the other VR guy who was in charge of teddy, dropped it by accident.
Couldn’t even get out to the long platform to continue the encounter, because of the message acting like an invisible wall.

I tried to warn the others that this is bugged, but they were too pissed to hear me.
Soon I had enough of this bullshit (after the others did as well, when it reached to a point we instantly died as soon as we spawned back). FUCK the teddy challenge!! Buggy piece of SHIT!
.

Went to another world, still a bit ticked at the controllers. The friends showed up and actually tried to help me feel better (and it helped). One suggested with the issues I’m getting with delayed/unwanted inputs, to get a WiFi antenna (that would boost the Bluetooth signal, for my controllers to respond more favorably.
As for the touch pads, I was suggested of looking up some kind of driver that I can configure the controllers to do what I want. If I can get them to not input forward-left and forward-right, I’ll be SO fucking happy.

Also, one of them that was helping me out, said they used to have WMR, but it crashed a lot on their laptop. Said the only way to reinstall the MR Portal.. is reinstalling
Windows. OOF!! THAT I didn’t know! He had to do this six times, before it finally started working fine. …Wow. Reminds me of all the times I reinstalled Windows in hopes to fix that issue I had with modded Skyrim.
I feel… extremely lucky to not have that happen to me. He also knows of the issue I have with the whole “Check your display cable” crap. Glad I’m not alone in that.
