My new headset! Let’s see if it’s better than my desktop mic

Before the Impalong, I mentioned how I was having issues with speech recognition from my ‘ole reliable’ (but in a severe need of replacement) Logitech desktop mic that I’ve had for many, many years. The poor thing is dangling from its cord, with the swivel broke (they don’t last long).
I got recommended this headset from eBay of all places. The fact it’s a refurbished product, raised red flags in my head. But the person that recommended me it, claims she owns several of them. So.. what the hell. Ordered it Saturday during the impalong, and it just arrived today (yet was scheduled to arrive tomorrow). Very nice!
It’s USB compatible (so it replaces the tabletop mic’s spot). It has a speaker volume control and a mic mute switch; quite handy.
Tried out speech recognition, and I’m actually liking what I’m seeing! It’s been picking my voice up well. Works well for playback too (currently listening to Elpis as a test). Nearly rivals my $200 Bose desktop speakers. Hell, these things would had costed the same amount if it wasn’t for the fact they’ve been refurbished.

Pretty strange way the headset fits around your head. Instead of (traditionally) on the top of the head, it fits just above the back of the neck. Also, the headphone part has no cups that go around the ears, only on. Which, kind of makes it uncomfortable (with my left ear feeling like it’s being pinched).
But overall, I approve! Definitely recommend this for anyone with a tight budget and is struggling with speech recognition.
Very nice product, A++!
