Me bored, so me try to come up with new deed design (for funsies)

Instead of actually doing something productive with my Wurm life (such as grinding my skills… because heaven forbid that!), I’m tooling around with Deedplanner, and seeing what my old creative juices can think of.
Literally starting with a blank slate, and working. And I already have a few ideas; mixing new (and previous) ideas.
From that ‘Hermit Isle’ deed in Xan
Cart Garage with the Storage Building ontop, might make an access bridge
The old horse pens idea (before the redesign project)

All of these pictures are an early WIP, and are highly subject to change (and this “version 3” of DTH might not even happen). This is actually what I used to do when playing The Sims; get bored enough, tear down the house and rebuild.
Infact I might just get rid of the whole canal idea (as I feel it won’t really be needed anymore), and use the ‘enclosure’ idea as where my Knarr and B2’s sailboat will go (I’m thinking of keeping the sailboat for now, just incase).
But my attempts on making things streamlined (keeping the horse pens close to the cart garage) are also facing an “ancient enemy”; symmetry. And what a frustrating, hard to defeat enemy it is (to where I wish it could be nerfed). Instead, it fights my best ideas with “this isn’t going to look right, it’s not lined up with that! Don’t you even care about how it looks?”
And then after trying to satisfy it, it fucking throws off my god damn streamline attempts!! ARGH! It’s a never-ending struggle (with grid-based sandbox games)! Wurm, The Sims, Minecraft, even Unity (building a VRChat world in it).. they all use a grid-based system for placing things. It can both be your friend, and your enemy (as it might fuck you over down the road, depending what you’re trying to do).
The grid size matters, though. Minecraft’s blocks (like The Sims’ grid) is one meter. But Wurm’s grid size is 4×4 meters across (believe me, I did the math). The larger the square, the harder it is to align something with precision (and have that same something work for everything else), which has killed a lot of my projects with my world (in VRChat).
And now it’s happening in Wurm.. *sigh*
#FirstWorldProblems

And also, since the game isn’t like Elite Dangerous (of selling things for the price you paid for them.. in this case, the expense of tiles I paid for to extend the deed), if I actually decide to go with this (or another) plan, I want to downside the deed. This means the upkeep would cost less (which means I could put 3-4 months in (if I get it down to 1s a month), and not have to worry about it for awhile), and just keep repeating this everytime I got to re-prem.
Yes, this redesign (if I do it), would really help me in the long run. And when I get enough money, I just might start to drop a deed on every server (if by then, I haven’t had anyone brand Uma).
And also, I’m somewhat thinking of downsizing the deed (by disbanding and re-founding, to save money, and I’ll get that extra two months of upkeep for ‘free’). Though since I’ve never done it, I don’t know how your bank is affected (when your bank is the token you’re about to disband). And Wurm demands that you have money in a non-existent bank to found a new deed.
And before you ask, yes I will still give Tulsi a place to live (as long as I’m living here).

Oh yes, before I forget, Seedlings (the one that gave me editor access of the Wurmpedia), has branded Uma in Pristine. And I’m also getting someone to re-imp my armor up to 90 (for the price of their 80 imp(2.5s), compared to paying 5s. Not a bad deal, huh?).
So this is why I’m not out exploring (incase you were wondering).
