The VRChat devs have ‘graced’ us with another update for the game. And like the last one, it’s world-based. There’s a few things to cover here (where some aren’t even for worlds).
So first off, be sure to get the latest SDK from VRChat’s website. I’m hearing that it’s stable from a (hopeful) reliable source.
Second thing, the devs have enabled (or rather ‘re-enabled’) a feature called “Particle Limiter”. This isn’t enabled by default, as it requires the user to add a file to where one’s log output goes (which is in C:\Users\(YourName)\AppData\LocalLow\VRChat). There you can create a file called ‘vrchat;config.json’, and use something like Notepad++ to open it.
Go here for more info about it, and what to copy and paste into the file.. Now note this system is in Beta, and may be changed, modified, or removed during future releases. But if this helps with Best Boi meetings (where the lag is.. like having 1-2FPS even with Block Avatars by Default enabled), I’ll be eternally grateful.

The next non-world based change, is Desktop users FINALLY have a Mouse Sensitivity slider!! REJOICE! Finally some love for non-VR people like myself. 🙂
Now it’s time to go over with the world-based updates.
1. When server hopping, worlds have their world size (in KB) on the top left. This is useful for people who enjoy being a part of a large world. It’s also useful for people with potato computers to avoid worlds like that.
2. New scripts added to the SDK (accessible in Unity);
VRC_SyncVideoStream (you can now watch streamed Twitch/YouTube videos ingame)
VRC_VideoScreen (for use with VRC_SyncVideoStream)
VRC_VideoSpeaker (for use with VRC_SyncVideoStream)
3. ‘VRChat Home Kit’ released, where you can make your own customized VRChat Home. Go here to download the kit, and here on how to work with it. Others hope that this could be the start of a series of ‘kits’, one example being a ‘Minigame Kit’, for setting up your own minigames (think of something similar to the late GMod Tower, and picture the minigames in it being a world (or worlds)). This would be a fantastic step in attracting new people into the game (just hope they pack their patience with the increased lag and random disconnects).

Thinking about all of this, this might get me back into working on my world again (haven’t touched it in weeks). Last time I was in it, I was working on a custom-designed house (using the props from the Mega Fantasy Props Pack). But I got fed up with the design (how certain walls weren’t lining up right) and stopped working on it.
