Checking out the ‘Fire and Ice’ Exo Impalong: the city in a cave

Alright, I left later than I said I was. Minecraft wanted priority. Still at home I went over everything B2 and I owned (of what could be imped to 70QL). Most of the time was wasted on trying to find the more important half of planning bridges in DTH..a thing that I cannot pronounce for the life of me. I know I wanted to get that (and the range pole) imped.
I also threw in some of my most used tools to give them a buff, and B2 grabbed two of the four remaining breakfasts from the main larder (all of the snowballs had decayed away, and nearly all the breakfasts he made have 55 damage on them).
But it’s no biggy. All he needs is meat and a veggie and he can cook more; quick and easy, and SO much better than ..belch, Stew. 😛

Made it to Exo with no problems, but reaching the destination got me briefly lost. However it felt like a kick to the head, stumbling upon the very idea that made me design DTH the way it is (even having the token in the middle). Finally I found the canal (and the destination), yet I was a bit disappointed when I didn’t see an underground marina (instead of having to drop anchor on the sides of the canal).
The walls (and height of them) reminded me of the old time Crystal Bay Canal in Inde (back in 2010).
Told B2 to stay in the boat to make sure this was the place (as I didn’t see any signs). Went up one of the walls toward a bridge. Crossed it and through the doors, was a switchback slag path heading up to unknown lands (lined with pumpkins).
Made it up the long route (having to stop once to catch my breath) and at the top, my jaw dropped. This… is a FUCKING CITY, underground! HOLY FUCK!! The effort that went into this place, must’ve been insane. Really high ceiling. The cave floor even looked like city streets!
Now this isn’t a huge city, more like a town. But DAMN, the work that was put into it. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen in this game.

There wasn’t a lot of activity in the town; the main action was happening in a building that I couldn’t seem to enter. I thought “ehh, seems normal since I’m here early.” Explored the underground town, seeing another ramp leading to another gate. Followed it and found myself outside again. What was infront of me is apparently known as the ‘LOLPIT’, with no fencing out here. Even a friendly “seriously you -will- die” sign. Kind of uneasy. But hey, it’s near Halloween. And as a certain song goes: “Life’s not fun without a good scare!”
And nothing scares me more than the fear of heights (and looking down from them, freaking out every step I make, thinking I’m going to autowalk off)…

Decided to ask if this is the place, and was told it was by several people. One them also asked me “are trolls still a problem for you, Dragonhead?” Heh, what a silly question. Until the day I get a set of drake armor…yes, yes they will remain a problem.
Speaking of drakes, I got a disturbing surprise when I opened up a random door, seeing the corpse of a white dragon on the floor infront of me. I can only imagine, that it seems I finally found the one that had eluded me for years (even though I know this was a different dragon). I’m just glad I wasn’t there to see it die. I told them about it, and they’re saying there’s a second corpse. Though I never found it (luckily). I did find the corpse of a Cyclops, in a room opposite of the room the dragon corpse was in.
Having explored enough (and asking where I could store my cart for tomorrow), I got B2 active. Had to go back down to the boat and unload the cart for him, then escorted him up the long-ass ramp to the town. Lead him to the outside cliff area (as that’s where I was told I could place it). The cart is locked and perms are set, so I’m not worried about theft.

We then headed to the Inn, which is really nice. There’s 7 floors (even though it claims there’s 6, but I’m not European). If the ‘lobby’ actually looked like one, then I would agree.
But I digress. The last three floors are the suites, and they’re really nice…except the balcony is a safety hazard. Wow. This place needs a safety inspector to visit them. I also figured out who built it; a name I’d hope to not see here (after the not so nice conformation I had when I was exploring Exo earlier this year): Jakerivers. I can only hope that he forgot that mess, and will still treat me as an acquaintance (but really, as long as I don’t do anything really stupid, I feel we should get along OK).
Was told that Jake “would not stop building”. I wanted to say “yeah I know that feeling”…but really I don’t. Not in this game, anyway.

After that (and B2 logs off by using one of the beds, hope they didn’t expect him to pay when he has no coin), I looked around some more. Walked over to this arena, that seems like it was specifically made for Enki to get his kicks. It wasn’t over the top like the arena of Shrimpalong, but it was pretty nice (even having a VIP section that I cannot access) Was told that he might not even come, something about no response if he would be available. Though, I have a feeling he’ll pop up unannounced.
Still, this could be the first Impalong (that I’ve attended) without Enki. We shall see what happens. There’s also something else to note. Apparently, reinforced cave walls can now be decorated with round stone bricks. I’m sure this requires 50 or higher in Masonry.
There is also a multi-storied, large workshop that’s clearly under construction. Yet what’s unique (and potentially useful to me), is the contents I see through the locked door. A rack that can handle up to four BSB’s, and a rack to handle crates.
This…this is something I need to look into when I get home. This has potential to help me. Though I imagine you’ll need a high level in Fine Carpentry before you even think of wanting to build them.

That’s pretty much it. Tomorrow’s going to be a busy day, though I’m not going to be sitting on my hands, waiting patiently for the impers to eventually get to my stuff. For I have a plan, and that simply involves Minecraft semi-running in the background (aka sitting on the main menu, not being ingame). I tested this when I went up here with B2, and it passed. My computer seems to be able to handle it.
Though I know the real test will be with 50+ other people also waiting for their stuff to be imped (or doing events). But I feel I should be fine. As long as one primary launch of Java is being ran, my CPU isn’t going to cry -that- much.
Basically, if nothing happens in a half an hour, I’ll quit and play Minecraft for an hour, then come back and check up on the progress. The only drawback is missing a sudden Enki mob attack (or an event being done by the hosts). Both are possible at anytime…but it isn’t -that- big of a deal to miss a few of them(in exchange of trying not to be bored out of my mind).

May just try to have one instance of Wurm running (B2) and Minecraft, as with Windows 10, I can visually check what’s going on between these two windows (via the taskbar).
Trying not to over-tax my CPU (and risk a system crash), is key here. Though if I had that Ryzen 5 1600, I (hopefully) doubt this would be an issue.
