Yesterday was a semi-busy day. But first off, I just wanted to deeply apologize for all the people I annoyed over this whole dragon thing. Some of you actually understanded me, and I appreciate that, but most of you are sick and tired, and I don’t blame you.
Because I’m getting tired of it myself. Therefore, until (or if) this ever happens again in my travels or near my deed, there will be no more discussing about this whole dragon thing. I’m done.
And the reason is I did something I didn’t think I ever had the courage to do (but did it anyway)… I removed her empty grave completely. That’s right, it’s empty. Apparently that’s what happens when you bury a mob; the corpse disappears instead of actually being buried. So, since the day she died and when I buried her, I’ve been grieving over an empty grave.
Silly, right? Also, I’ve vowed to do something else to remember her. And that is to work on my FS and help save any dragons I may come across by giving them a clean death (with lots of help of course). I understand now, what I tried to do was actually worse. Killing her, was the better option. Instead of being caged like an animal and harvested like cattle for her eggs, I freed her by giving her death. That day, literally was a mercy kill. So in order words, I actually did do something no other has done. I was just too blinded by grief and hate to see it.
Though why the devs decided to use such a beautiful creature to do this, I guess it’s just the name of the game (literally).
But now I can finally ‘bury the hatchet’ (aka all the anger I’ve felt to the hunters) and move on. Also, I’m not re-joining the Alliance. As I said, even before this whole mess started, I felt like I just didn’t really belong in it. Thankfully I’m the owner of the deed and not someone else who wanted to stay with them, which allowed me to remove OR from the alliance.
I also sold her belongings for 3.4s(her hide went for 2.4s, and her blood went for 1s). Not bad at all. And finally, I got a free 5-speed, but on the word that I would help out the community somehow. And the best way I know is to keep the roads safe from mobs (by working on FS). I also learned, the guy that sold me that horse at the end of Day 2 of my Indy Romp? While his price was unreasonable, the thing I said about him turning over perms? ..He didn’t need to, as taming or branding is the only way to ‘turn over perms’.
After I managed to sell her hide and her blood (I also sold the four Valrei items I collected while out there for 10c a piece to a collector(40c total)), I tried to see if anyone would want to trade my 4-speed for a 5-speed(or just buy a 5-speed). Nearly giving up over not getting anyone for hours, I tried the two people that someone was roaming around the outskirts of my deed when I came back home from my adventure, told me (‘Alyeska’ and ‘Mitzie’).
Alyeska was offline, and Mitzie was AFK. But the second person said that they don’t sell horses (however has “given some away” due to her being “in the process of moving”). I then asked them about if they know Alyska and they said no, so I thanked her for her time and wished her luck on her move.
Then she asks me of what I’m looking for. So I pasted in the link to a forum post I made about my request, and she said she had a brown 5-speed she could part with. She also said she didn’t want my 4-speed is “i kill vens”, and that’s fine. Asked how much she wanted for the horse, and she said nothing “but pay it forward some day”.
Told her that I’m not really a crafter, but a striving hunter. And she says “it just means to help someone else out in hte future when you are able”.
(Refuses to say that maybe this could be Emeriss the Ferocious in human form.. ahh damnit)
With it now nighttime, I was to meet her on the East side of Black Dog Isle. Thinking at this time that all she’ll need to do is turn over perms to me and I’ll be able to ride it back home, I got B2 on and got him to take me there on his sailboat, holding to all the horse stuff. Had to fight the current as we went south through the server (gale from the south).
Got a bit lost trying to find the Bay View Canal, but we finally found it and went through. Trying to get to the East side of the island was a challenge due to the wind, but we did it. As we approached the island’s north face, my contact messages me again and says she’s going to switch to a character called ‘Cinderr’ and be sitting at a pier with the horse.
Close to the East side of Black Dog Isle we went. It took 5 minutes until she popped up in our local. Assumed she was close and I started looking at this one village for a pier, but saw nothing. She said to go further as that’s her neighbor’s place, so we did and finally found where she lives, and the horse on the pier.
Hopped out with B2 still in the boat. She stopped leading the horse. She told me it was a male (which is perfect), and it has 6 good traits and no bad ones(also perfect). I asked her if perms have been transferred over, and she says she thinks so. Remembering what I went through back then, I made sure I could at least put the Bridle on him and I couldn’t. Told her the message, and then she told me that I had to either tame or brand him.
She then offered to tame him in order to get my bridle on him, and did, proving that’s what you gotta do in order to be allowed to put things like horseshoes on a horse. But the thing about taming, is it makes hostiles see the horse as something to kill instead of just the player. She already knew this, and ran back to go tame another animal to untame the horse.
So, my only option was to bring the horse back with me on B2’s boat and then brand him when I get back home. Being a nice guy, I asked him why and where she was moving. She said she outgrew this area and needed to find more space, and that she was moving to “south of sutherland shire”. Told her that that I wasn’t sure I’ve heard of it (which is true), she said she would show me and she did.
So I tried to board B2’s boat as a passenger while leading the horse (hoping I can finally do it)…, but it seems they still won’t allow you to do that. Bastards. 😛
And I was forced to take over as captain of the boat in order to lead the horse, and followed her. She lead us through Black Dog Canal, then along the East side for a bit until she stopped. Here we saw this pretty huge, flat field that she and her neighbors have been preparing. Was pretty nice.
Since I was leading the horse, I had B2 hop out and be shown around the place. The tour of the large area took about three minutes. Again, it was pretty nice.
One time she showed B2 that she had a tar pit, and he said where we lived. She mentions “there’s near where i used to live”. At first I thought she said ‘that’s near where i used to live”(as in her deed), but after just reading what she said (going over the logs as I type this), she was talking about the tar pit off the coast of that one mountain in the center of the server (where I go for my tar).
She said about “there’s deed on the east side of the mtn that has tunnel that goes to the top”. I thought she was talking about the Western Wall, but it wasn’t. My head is always in the gutter, isn’t it? But before I could possibly get exactly where this ‘deed on the east side of the mtn’ is (because I wasn’t seeing it on the map), she said that she needed to get started on her project. So B2 ran back to the boat and we set sail back home, wishing them luck.
Going along the North side of the server, I started thinking about how far we’ve come to this point. Also noticing of how barren it is (except for a few villages here and there). For the first time in my life, I actually felt… lonely living without neighbors. Shock, I know. With me being as anti-social as I am… wow.
It just didn’t make sense, how every village around me had suddenly disbanded. Yet I only remember two. However, there are signs that there were even more villages, or perhaps sub-villages off of the main one (with the addition of that new side route leading to the main roads).
I also have reason to believe, the previous owners of my deed owned a LOT more real estate than just my deed. I mean, think about it. That many people living in such a small spot that my deed is currently in? Yeah. Not possible. And somewhere in the back of my mind (not in a screenshot but by pure memory of passing by it once in 2011), the place was HUGE. So they obviously expanded past the confines of my deed. So it’s possible, all of these flatraised areas around me, were owned by them in one form or another.
I also remember the reason why I quit in 2011. Mainly because I just got bored with Wurm and told angry “I don’t care anymore” of what happens to my stuff. But I remember how I wanted to expand the deed further East. Infact, I believe the flatraised area that’s overlooking my deed to the east, still existed back then. I wanted to get into the process of breeding horses and starting a horse-selling service (like a lot of others did back then). But what shot that idea down was how.. remote the area is compared to other villages. So who would want to come all the way here to buy a horse?
Now you get why I stopped playing back then. But, I also have no intention of moving (mainly because I don’t know where we could move that would also be flat and close to the ocean).
But, as for Flashsilver, she now has a new home to live her final moments (in the woods, far away from the deed). She’s also to give birth in 10 days (the reason why I said it was perfect for the new horse to be a male)…if she survives long enough to do so.
Trust me, this is what she wanted.
