Lego Jurassic World “completed” – Thoughts

So I completed all four game attempts of recreating scenes from all four movies. Overall, I really enjoyed it. Other times, I feel they did too many repeat mechanics (mainly the very end, where you get to play as one of the two main dinosaurs of that movie, running at night and gathering Lego coins).

If you were to ask me what is my favorite of all four, I would say the 3rd and 4th movies. Mainly for both the endings. Jurassic World was pretty good in its own way, yet it just seemed to not have that same feeling of humans VS the former rulers of the planet, as the 3rd movie (Jurassic Park III).
The 4th movie, turned the dinosaurs into tourist exhibits instead of what was once feared (yet also respected).

Granted, I don’t think I ever watched the 3rd movie. I’ve seen Jurassic Park 1 and 2 (and I do love how they redid the part in Jurassic Park 1, the famous (yet also unliked) scene of the cow being eaten by the raptors and screaming bloody murder…. this time it shows the cow switching places with the worker(which didn’t happen in the movie)), and that’s it. But it looks really good, going from the scenes of the game.

My main gripe with the game, is the character voices. Especially in the first Jurassic Park.
A good example is when Hammond tells Dr. Grant about the park. The voice quality… ugh. It sounds like his voice was taken directly from the movie without being edited or anything, and sounds loud and horrid; that the mic or whatever that was used to record the voices, was an even worse quality mic than my own. And here I was worried about my voice being so loud (when doing videos). At least I take the time to edit out the noise to the best of Audacity’s abilities.

Whoever did this, didn’t fucking care how bad the voices were. They wanted to rush the product out and make that money… from suckers like me. But I feel the sounds of the dinosaurs made up for it. They are also ripped from the movies, but they sounded better.
Also, in the later games/movies, they’re not AS horrid. Perhaps, they couldn’t make them sound better? Maybe we’ll never know.

But one’s prehistoric vacation of “fun”, doesn’t have to stop there. There’s also free play. And it seems there’s a lot more to unlock and get 100% completion than the LEGO Movie Videogame. There’s red bricks. There’s gold bricks. Photography locations. Unlocking all the playable dinosaurs. Dino-racing events. Being able to play God and create your own custom dinosaurs. Being able to redo all the scenes in the movies (in either Story mode or Free Play). With Free Play, you have access to areas you didn’t have before in the game.
Just so much to do after the game’s completed. Yet it never really is. There will always be new discoveries and even more freakish dinosaurs to run away screaming from.
The most awesome thing I wish you could do, is mount a dinosaur and ride it into battle. One that shoots laser beams from their eyes… too much Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. 😛

.
It’s time for my review, that took 65 billion years in the making (not really);
Good;
-Memorial scenes from all four movies.
-Hilarious moments of when they happen.
-No one dies in a LEGO game. Not even a dinosaur.

Bad;
-Horrid, shitty voice acting (in certain parts).
-Bad lip syncing.
-Doesn’t really explain the movies for people that never seen them (or barely remember).
-The bug in the beginning of Jurassic World where the raptors are perusing the pig (with the pet door opening up before the pig gets in) is still in the full game…
-They never recreated in Jurassic Park 1, during the “T-Rex chasing after the car” scene, when the guy looked through the side mirror and saw the T-Rex there. What was funny about that scene was the “OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR” warning on the mirror.

Final Verdict: Not worth $60. I got it because it looked fun, but I don’t have buyers remorse. If you still want it. My suggestion is to wait ’till it goes on sale. Like.. Christmas. Get it for Christmas.
I tried to make my review as truthful as I can. But if you still want it, then go get it. I can’t stop you. I just feel it’s not worth the current asking price. It usually never is, even if the game is hyped to hell and back (not saying Just Cause 3 ISN’T worth $60. Don’t hate me. 😛 ).

*Spoiler Section of the very end of Jurassic World. Don’t read if you haven’t played the game… or even better, if you haven’t watched the movie*

Spoiler

The very end of Jurassic World, when Dr. Grant discovers what appears to be an alien artifact… what heavens could this mean? A possible Jurassic Park 5 in the future? Or ‘Jurassic World 2’? Dinosaurs VS Aliens?! Maybe it’s explained better in the movie. What I’m thinking.
Speaking of spoilers (SpoilerCEPTION!!), Jurassic World is a spoiler within itself. By either watching the movie, or playing the game version, you discover this ‘Andomous Rex’ is part raptor.

Lastly, it seems Jurassic World stole the scene from How To Train Your Dragon, of where Hiccup befriends Toothless, by Alan Grady befriending Blue the Velociraptor (yet it was never explained how in the game, but there’s a later scene that is eerily similar to the two movies.)
