New Super Mario Bros Wii “completed” (somewhat), thoughts

I knew when I was able to cheat, I would be able to complete it. Yet the last two worlds.. let alone the final boss, was made to make you cuss.
Most of the time, it involved using my right stick in ways that Dolphin wouldn’t register (the whole tilt thing with the Wiimote). And also when using the Super Guide, Dolphin would start to studder.

The final boss (aka Bowser), was of course as tough as the level designers could make it without going insane. It’s in two parts. The first is pretty much a throwback of the original Super Mario Bros of dropping Bowser in the pit he’s over. But the second… the second involved a really large Bowser using his firebreath to destroy the level infront of you.
And then there’s the moving platforms… the bane of my platforming existence. I got fed up with dying and allowed Luigi-bot to show me off. And of course, he pulled it off flawlessly.
But just before he was about to rescue the princess, I stepped in and took care of Bowser for good. Then the credits rolled, and the credit section was actually pretty cool. You can run around and destroy the credits. And I of course took my anger out on them. I do feel better.

And then Peach tells Mario about a secret Level 9. Fuck that. I’m so DONE with this.
