‘Super Mario Maker”s controversial launch date

I’m not really sure if it’s official or not, but I keep hearing rumors that the super popular game (thanks to Youtube), Super Mario Maker for the Nintendo Wii U, is to be released… today.
Of all days to release a game, especially one with a video game character that practically every person on the planet knows by name, …. why did they pick one of the most saddest days of modern American history to launch it?

9/11. The day America stood still. Yet in our hearts, we had a new respect for our country; our freedom.. and especially the many, many brave men and women that still fight for it.
And they want to release a Mario game, on this day. Maybe they don’t care. They see it as ‘just another day’. Well, tell that to the ones that lost loved ones in the towers. Tell that to the brave firefighters that went into those buildings to rescue people. And tell that to the brave people that stopped the 3rd plane before it too could do more terror.

I can just see the trending area on Twitter explode, not just with 9/11 “never forget” tweets, but also with this and its ill-timed release date. This is just wrong, even for Nintendo.
Does Mario even have a say in this? Or is Nintendo literally putting a gun to his head? Because they’re going to be doing the same for all of those Super Mario Maker videos on Youtube. Can’t wait to see the mass copyright takedowns.

.
EDIT: So far on my Twitter feed, #amiibo and #NeverForget are trending. Nothing about Super Mario Maker. That’s good.
