“What if you were in charge of WoW?”

There was one email where I kept getting bombarded with responses to do a reply on. That question was, “What if you were in charge of World of Warcraft? What would you change?” My answer was “I cannot tell you, as it would never be possible”. But the guy kept asking me to do so.

So… here we go. 7 things I would change if I was in control of WoW. I hope he (and you guys) aren’t angered by my ‘changes’. But this is what I would do.

#1. Find a way to get the two promised capital cities in Draenor, actually there. No more BS about “Ohh, we just didn’t have the time!”. If I was in charge, I’ll make them have the time!

#2. Make Garrisons fun. Add a 4th tier, customization options for your Town Hall/Great Hall, and during holidays I would have it where the Garrison servers were down, so you’ll be enjoying time with others with the holidays; as it’s better with friends.

#3. Make Guild Garrisons an option. It should be a purchasable thing, and agreed on for all guild members. This should have more things added, such as being able to share the currency of Work Orders. Basically, have it like a big pile that any of your guildies can do. Also, profession buildings will be available to all guild mates.

#4. Allow for the relocation of your Garrison, and remove those crap second hand towns (where the movable Garrisons were going to be). It wouldn’t be easy, and cost a lot of gold (a Garrison, depending on the size is a pretty big place to move). Also, there should be a timer of how long it’ll take to move your Garrison. And when you initiate the move, you’re locked out of your Garrison until it’s complete. Also, after the move, you will be more vulnerable to random attacks (you’ll have to defend your Garrison, or have Bodyguards do it for you) until you re-establish the foothold.

#5. Remove the tedious Apexis Crystal grinding in Tanaan Jungle with actual questing. Get some progression going to advance yourself to eventually reach the raid against.. whoever the bad guy is now. I think it’s Gul’dan instead of Grom. Oh yeah, there’s also Kilrogg Deadeye.

#6. No more bullshit during BlizzCons! If our developers feel they can’t reach deadlines, they will let their gamers know! No more lying!

#7. Make developers listen to their beta testers!

Yeah.. I would be a slavedriver boss, but at least I won’t be someone silenced with “hush money” to keep known issues out of the ears of the community until it’s too late. I would be firm, and turn Blizzard around into a respected, trusted company who cares about their customers.

This is what I would do. So this should answer their email.
