Why I’m hesitant from buying Heart of Thorns

I saw an interview that Angry Joe did with the main dev of Guild Wars 2, about the new expansion coming. They went over several things. Most are cool, others are “meh”.
But what stopped me (and of course sent me into ‘depression mode’, is what was mentioned that they really want to “add challenging PvE content in this expansion”.
That’s fine, but the fact you’re Level 80, doesn’t this mean ALL content will be challenging?

Joe’s asking what kind of ‘challenging content’ will be added, and happy as he can be. “I WANT to be challenged! I WANT to rage infront of my computer!! IT FEELS GOOD!!” *rolls eyes*
Colin Johanson, said head of Guild Wars 2, mentioned how a lot of players asked for this, and how “this expansion will be more challenging”.. which really worries me as a soloer. He mentions how they looked at all the options (Raids/Open World Raiding/Instances/5 man dungeons.. stuff that Joe is just SO PUMPED FOR!!.. I could care less).
He won’t explain exactly what will be added, which adds to more uncertainty. All he said is that they’ll give the players what they want and make them really use their hot bars. Yay… even more complicatedness!

So… I dunno. I asked Dragon Season, and they too believe that even soloing is going to be challenging. But will challenging = impossible without requiring random people to help me and I’ll feel pathetic and weak, ergo will NOT be soloable? DS told me the devs haven’t really explained yet(just as the interview said). So your guess is as good as mine.

Besides the challenges to soloing, this is pretty much what I’ve gotten from watching that interview;
-They want to challenge BlizzCon and other MMO Conventions, that they can throw even more content in an expansion. And not do mundane tasks (like in WoD).
-A Jungle setting.
-A new Elder Dragon to kill (Mordremoth, a Malygos-like dragon that feeds on energy), which they mention could be a more epic(and challenging) final boss battle.
-Should’ve been released two years ago, apparently. I wouldn’t know.
-Level cap will not be raised. The expansion will pretty much be endgame content for Level 80’s.
-A major update to the ‘mastery’ system(mastering your character), that you will get points as you ‘level’. These points will be used as currency, such as being able to communicate with certain races (and trading with them), mastery of being able to use mushrooms, and being able to kill an enemy you couldn’t before. (Quite interesting)
-Learning the lore of NPC races is important, to have any hope of defeating Mordremoth. (Interesting)
-Brand new Level 80 Personal Story for your char (the continuation of the last one).
-No new races.
-Adding the ‘Reverent’ class.
-Semi-Specs, that you can be another spec (a Ranger can also be a Druid. That’s fucked up, yo).
-Still no monthly fees. 🙂
-New skins.
-New gear types.
-Rangers can use Staffs.
-Changes to current classes and specs.
-A new World VS World Borderlands. (Don’t care)
-Guild Halls similar to Garrisons in WoD. (Hmmm… at least I won’t be a part of that)
-Actually doing Guild Wars in GW2 (Guild PvP). (Don’t care)
-More incentives to join a Guild (instead of just asking for help). (Don’t care)
