The day has finally arrived. The end of the old talent tree system, and seeing Deathwing’s ugly face on the login screen.
The patch downloaded slowly at first, then kicked into high gear and got finished in under an hour; compared to 4 hours on the PTR. Very nice.
At the start, the patch seemed as if it wasn’t doing anything. Sitting at 0% for five minutes. Then it got to 1%. Finally some progress! Then it got to 2%. Then 3%. Then 4%. Suddenly, it jumped to 26%. As if it was downloading in the background all of this time. Then it rocketed, getting done in record time (“record” being the 4 hours in the PTR).
So now I sit and wait for the servers to hopefully come back up in two hours from now, looking at the Mogu statues of the new login screen. Which are seen in the Valley of the Four Winds according to Wowhead. Which is the center of Pandaria (and seems to also be where Level 90’s will hang out).
Funny, that I still haven’t figured out all of the Bestiary of MoP. I know only the basics about these Mogu people; only they used to rule Pandaria with an iron fist and were finally exiled by the Pandarians. But the Mogu have returned, it seems. Will they be the next threat to Azeroth?
Though I can’t help but think, the Mogu almost look like the first dragon humanoids. Their faces alone look like a chinese dragon. They even have horns on the sides of their head. Could just be ears, though. Spock ears. lol.
As for downloading MoP’s files, it didn’t happen today. This is good, because it would had made the download longer. I’m guessing it’s the fact because MoP is still in Beta. When it goes Gold, that’s when we’ll get the files. Surely sometime before MoP’s release (they have to). But then, they’ll just push it back another month or so if they feel they need more time to work on it. Which will piss off a lot of people.
The servers went back up four hours after the normal maintenance time, which is 6pm EDT.
