Day 2 of taking a break from the MRT Server, I’ve spent almost all day soloing random Level 70 dungeons. But, these dungeons I have never attempted in soloing. Only one dungeon escaped from being solo’d, though. And that was Blackwing Lair.
Basically, the first boss (which are the first guys you kill in BWL). It’s not the fact I don’t have the DPS. I can kill him. But this boss isn’t the typical “see boss, shoot boss, kill boss, victory!” boss battle. You have to keep the black dragon, Razergore, alive. Or else he causes the eggs in the room to go nuclear, killing everyone including yourself in that room, if he dies before the eggs are destroyed.
There’s only one way to solo this boss, and funny enough, only a Hunter can do it. This is due to Disengage. Goblin classes can also do this. It’s a bug during every add phase, that the adds reset and run out of the room, allowing you to focus on controlling Razergore and destroy the eggs (ironic, I know, but it’s the only way).
I couldn’t do this bug, no matter how hard I tried. I get to the ledge, Disengage, but I either stop short of the other ledge, or when I do actually make it and proceed to do the bug, it doesn’t work. The adds run up to the control rune instead of out of the room.
What sickens me is this can still be done in the current WoW patch (4.3.4), yet I can’t seem to do it right. Well, BWL will be solo’d one day. Sometime in the future when I’m Level 100 or so (or am still alive to even play WoW).
Despite the failure, I racked up three new solo’d dungeons onto my belt. The two dungeons in Dragonblight (Azol Nerub and , and UP. Yes, I kicked King Yimron’s ass all over his throne room!! 😀 And as I type this, I’m planning to do even more dungeon soloing in Northrend!
I’m planning to do Drak’Tharon Keep, and possibly Gundrak. And the two Ulduar dungeons. I’m going to be fucking loaded in cash by tonight. And I need this cash for whatever lies ahead in MoP. I want that sick Chinese Dragon mount!
And no, I will not be soloing The Eye in Netherstorm. The last boss at my current level is impossible to solo. Nor will I solo Black Temple, or Sunwell Plateau. Some have solo’d both, but not me. Not right now. Maybe in the future.
SP alone cannot be solo’d. Period. The first and second boss would be impossible to solo. It’s required you have multiple people to defeat them (and especially know what they’re doing).
