A few days ago, this game was released on Steam. The story goes as you are a 11 year old boy, visiting your Uncle. But you find out something is amiss because your Uncle isn’t here to greet you this time, then crazy shit starts to happen. So now you have to find your Uncle.
You are told to use this special powered glove called the “IDS” or “Interdimensional Shift Device”. What it does, is the user can jump through dimensions at will. You will need to use this device to pass the 51 levels of puzzles, that some require you to use 3 or more dimensions at once.
There’s four dimensions. They are “Fluffy”, which makes everything light as a feather so you can pick things up and throw them. “Heavy” which increases the density of objects and makes them immune to lasers, “Anti-Gravity” which obviously reverses gravity, and “Slow Time” which obviously slows time of all objects in the world. In order to use these dimensions, you have to have the battery that matches that dimension. And in some levels, you have to do things to reach a battery.
When you shift between dimensions, the room shifts around you. Everything appears white when you’re in the Fluffy dimension, and rocky/hard when in the Heavy dimension. Also, paintings can change when you’re in a dimension.
Like Portal, you’re given these cubes that can be used to push down plates to open doors. Except they aren’t cubes at all; they’re Safes. Apparently your Uncle has a fetish for safes.
You can also use furniture like couches, tables, and sofas to push down platforms. Or even use them as platforms to jump across a gap.
The puzzles seem fun and the voice acting is pretty good. There’s also this strange small creature that seems to pop up here and there and vanish into thin air. Its name is Ike (or “Interdimensional Kinetic Entity”). And it likes to be annoying by holding onto batteries that you need.
How I found out about this game is through the same guy who got me into Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. But is it really worth the $15? Most say it is because you can take your time solving puzzles, and the increased difficulty of them. There’s also a way to replay levels you already completed to get items you missed.
So, I’ve decided YES. It is worth the $15 (since I got more than enough in my bank account to get it). I will let you all know tomorrow what I think of it.
