Another Tuesday is upon us. And you know what that means in the World of Warcraft? Yep… maintenance!…and we haven’t suffered with the 3.1.0 patch enough already.
On top of that, as I suspected… a patch to fix last Tuesday’s patch. The irony!
And on top of that… guess what happened? Our talent trees HAVE ONCE AGAIN BEEN RESET!!! D: FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU-
It’s because of issues with the dual talent spec system. Even though this issue wasn’t felt by me, I’m still going to suffer from having to re-re-reset my talent tree.
As I “patiently” wait for the realms to go back up (hopefully it will not be 8pm like last Tuesday. Since it’s a fucking patch it probably will), lets say you wanted to write a nice letter to Blizzard… thanking them for this patch. No, I’m serious.
What would you say? How would you tell them?
Well… this is what I would say;
Title: Disgruntled random customer #452,652
Dear Blizzard,
You may think this is another piece of hate mail, or someone else that will go “OMG U SUX BLIZZ I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!”, but I’m not like them. Infact, I just want to talk about you as a company, and the way you treat your over 1,000,000 players.
The 3.1.0 patch caused more mayhem than good. But tell me. Do you guys ever play the same game you do maintenance on every Tuesday, instead of expecting people like myself to whine and cry when something breaks for you to eventually do something about it?
You’ve already proven that you don’t, when someone said that if youall knew about the “go here to find what you are looking for in the city” icon was stuck in the Dwarven District.
What did you say about it? Ohh yes. “No one has reported it”. Stop being lazy please. The game company is supposed to make sure a player’s experience is fulfilled. Fulfilling it with bugs that will never be fixed until someone complains, is not the way.
Let me go over you a list of issues I have encountered;
People are getting stuck in Northrend instances
The gold, silver, and copper coin icons are missing
Player/mob avatars are out of alignment(the icon that shows when you left click)
Another thing I want to discuss. When it comes to quitting the game for good. According to the account cancellation page, it acts like “Ohh please don’t go! We won’t be the same without you”, when in reality, as I explained it’s just a drop in the bucket. When that little itty bitty spec of water can easily be filled up by a few hundred gallons more.
I’m sure I don’t have to explain what I mean.
How long have you been mistreating the player base? 4 years now? Yet people seem to bounce right back in, even after all the threats, whines, and yells the players do on your Tech Support Forum. Since World of Warcraft is a very addicting game. But let us not forget what it takes to make such an amazing game continue to work.
But yet you continue to do the same things you’ve done over the years, when it comes to patches. Not thoroughly testing them before releasing them to the live realms.
Is it the fact you’re seeing an increase in players, you all have no desire to want to change your ways? You think that the more players you get, the more testing will be done to fix what you created?
It will never fix waiting hours on end for the realms to come back online.
That’s basically what I would say to them. Attempt to stay calm while discussing the pure hate with them I’ve experienced over the years.
The fact they haven’t changed over the years just makes my blood boil.
