The ‘new server’ / Boat Lock madness / Wild talk

I got word that this new server we where promised, and I was hoping would be like Wild and MR-H, turned out to be a tutorial server known as the “Golden Valley”. A place where newbies train up, and then have to go prem to go to MR-H, Wild, or… JK-H.
That’s right… JK-H is now a semi-prem server. Basically, Rolf found sympathy for non-prems that where in the server WAY before this happened, and will let them keep playing. But is encouraging everyone to go prem.
In my opinion, Rolf wants Wurm to be no better than WoW, using the term “monthly fee”.

They also released another feature. A thing for deeds as an anti-griefing system. Deed owners can allow or deny anyone building or destroying roads/fences/houses near their deeds.

Anyway. I’m sure none of you give a fuck to hear how my day went. But… guess what? You’re going to hear it anyway! So get comfortable.
I’ve been desperately looking for either a boat lock or a large anvil to make my own.
Though I finally found a boat lock, I noticed it was missing it’s key…. I asked kchat if boat locks had keys. They said they don’t, but I proved them wrong after consulting the wiki. So. Wiki FTW. 🙂
Seeing this, I went to “Plan B”, buy a large anvil and lug the heavy fucker home. Then make my own boat lock. Searched everywhere AGAIN in NT, and got help from a guy named Turtle, who questioned me as I was asking the location of said anvil in Local, of why I don’t live in a village. So I PMed him, saying I don’t get along with others. That’s why I live on my own.
As soon as I said that, he found an anvil for me at a decent price. So I paid for it and lugged it home.

Dropping it down next to my small anvil nearly made a crator, but at least I had it home. Then I proceeded to warm up my now imped to 40’ish QL forge, thanks to a guy I met yesterday in my local who lives on Wild, last night, as I was trying to make a large anvil.
Today, much like yesterday, the failtrain made it’s stop right ontop of my chance to make the boat lock, putting it at a sickening 7% chance.
25 times I tried making a single boat lock. Each time ended up in FAILURE! I nearly wanted to pull my hair out.
I make another desperate plea in kchat for help in hopes someone would be selling a boat lock, and Bianca comes to my rescue.

She tells me a friend of hers who has a 24QL lock(and the key) for 10c, and I buy it on the spot and she leaves. After running back to NT(I think it’s my 4th time) I search once again looking for cheaper mooring anchors. And once again, the only one that is selling them wants 1-2s per anchor. So… I have no choice, and regretfully hand over the coin and get them.
Then I hook up the new boat lock to my sailboat and moor it. With my mooring anchor stolen grief issue finally taken care of, I head home and restart work in the lake to remove the scar.

1 last thing before I wrap this up. I’m planning to visit the Wild server one of these days. It will be a new adventure for me. I’ve been asking around for answers to the many questions I had for a safe and happy trip. Unfortunately though, there’s nothing “safe and happy” about Wild.
PvP is everywhere there. And there’s a risk I can get 1-shotted by archers. So I gotta keep my head down or I’ll lose it.
I’ve been told the best course of action when arriving at Wild is to head to “Port Middi”, as it’s the most secured port for us WLers, or “White Lighters”(pretty much JK), then I have to ask Kyara, somehow, if I can buy a high QL boat lock.
After that, I have to ask kchat and see if any village is recruiting, and move in with them. You see, Wild and JK-H are two different servers. So it doesn’t matter if I own Dragon Forest or not.

Then somehow I need to get to CV(Coniunctis Virbius) to see Xallo. Hopefully if I do find a helpful town to take care of newbies and tourists(like myself), I can get a guide to take me to CV.

There’s one thing I can’t wait to ask Kyara. And that is “Do you guys have a dragon? I heard rumors that Kyara has a red dragon.”
