Ever since I started playing Fallout 3 and Wurm on this new hardware, I’ve been having alot of issues. And I blame them all on my video card.
But, how? The thing’s a BRAND NEW card! Why is it causing more grief than my old 7600GS??
Just today, in Paint.NET, I was working on putting a few Fallout 3 pics on Facepunch. Saved them, quit, suddenly the entire system locks up on me, causing me to do an emergency shutdown(hitting the power switch on the back of my PC).
These…lock ups are having more and more frequently! Maybe all I have to do is preform system maintenance. It may be a virus, causing the locking up for all I know. Or I just need to defrag.
And here, a new patch for Fallout 3 has been released, to take care of the crashing issues. But some people are reporting it’s crashing EVEN MORE. Hello irony.
This, lock up issue. It was only isolated in Wurm. S.T.A.L.K.E.R wasn’t affected. FarCry 2 wasn’t affected. But something about Fallout 3.
Usually when it does lock up. Monitor 2 flickers, causing Monitor 1 to freeze. First noticed it in Wurm. Thought it was just my antivirus. When I disable it, it doesn’t do it.
Later on, now it’s doing it without the antivirus!
And in Fallout 3, it’s even worse… when it crashes, it locks up the entire system. Sometimes, I can recover from the crash and keep on playing. But other times, it locks it up for hours and doesn’t really crash And sometimes it locks up for a few seconds and does what I call a “safe crash”, and even then it can STILL lock up when you tell it to close it!
