My what a busy day it was, weather-wise. We knew it was coming. We knew it would be windy…but not 75MPH windy!
It started as a pretty windy, but sunny day ’till around 12:30PM when the winds began to pick up as what’s left of Hurricane Ike raced Northeastward. Around 1-2PM is when it got really bad, with sustained winds around 50MPH, and gusting to dangerous hurricane-force winds at times, with a clocked wind at 75MPH over at Louisville Intl Airport. It was a pretty terrifying day.
Finally the winds died down just enough to see what it did to my house. Not really much except a few tree limbs down. My neighbor about 4 houses down had a tree in her front yard uprooted and landed on her house.
Surprisingly through all of that, 95% of the city is without power. We are one of the 5% that still have it.
Anyway, to Spore now. My ranting isn’t about not being able to use an existing creature you made in the Creature Creator, but about the useless money in Space stage.
Why is money useless you ask? It’s so fucking easy to get! All you have to do is be friends with an empire, do a trade route, and buy their planets of spice. It’s fucking pointless! I mean, it seems to me all you spend it on is making your empire larger, so you can get more spice… there’s no point unless you love money.
On top of that, you got to worry about UFO’s and BioDisasters.
This kind of shit could make someone want to uninstall the game and tell his friends to boycott EA to not buy Spore. But… I… I don’t want to. And I don’t know why.
I’m guessing eversince Wurm, I just felt like money in general is useless to have. Because having money never really brings happiness. Either that or I’m hoping and praying that EA will make Spore more fun.
