Wow has it been awhile since I posted in THIS blog. Been playing Wurm alot and not really updating this.
Anyway, I was about to eat when I noticed something on The History Channel… about Dragons. 😀
I was pretty sure I’ve seen this a year ago(and I did) but it’s still awesome to watch. It talks about the 3 kinds of dragons obviously; Western, Eastern, Americas(Americas meaning Central America and what is the USA now). I missed the part where they where talking about the Western dragons unfortunately(about how some Western dragons are blamed for holding a damsel in distress captive in a tower), but got the part of the Americas and the Eastern dragons.
Near the end, they talk about how science has pretty much proven dragons never existed. However, cultures of all 3 dragon kinds don’t want to believe it — particularly the Eastern dragons of China. Due to the fact the Eastern dragon is their god, and they aren’t about to change that.
They also talk about the art of dragonslaying, which puts a theory into my head. Actually two theories, one being what archeologists thought where dragon bones, but turned out to be dinosaurs.
And the theory I, kinda agree to(in ways I don’t wanna), of if dragons ever flew the skies of the past, shows that dragons are truly nothing BUT figments of our imagination. Other words, myths. How the ferocious and bad breath of the Tiger, the gracefulness and talons of the Eagle, and the length with the wedged head of a snake, became the image of a dragon. Our own bad dreams became the dragon, and other stuff.
People also believe of a “Dragon World”, JUST like myself, where dragons can come into our world and leave whenever they please, to terrorize us humans. It kinda explains how there’s no traces that dragons ever existed in our world. Because they where born and raised in their world.
Anyway, back to that theory I had about dragonslaying. How humans feared dragons and tried to slay them. Was it for fear? Or something the dragons did to piss off the humans?
The 1st thing I believe is true, which goes over the dragon world theory. Dragons(the evil ones) where never a menace in the first place. However humans feared them and started slaying, which pissed off the dragons.
Which also might explain the theory of what DragonForce sings about. The more you hear it, they aren’t singing about dragons at all, but humans with weapons, slaying dragons(or another kind of evil needing to be defeated). Why? Through fear.
Another theory to discuss, this one about Eastern dragons. They claim if you where born in the year of the dragon, you are destined for success. Now this MAY be true, but I haven’t seen it yet. I’m not chinese but I was born in the year of the dragon. And I haven’t really seen any success coming my way. Mainly in Wurm. But I guess you have to go for that success; it won’t come to you.
But, this is just a few of probley THOUSANDS of theories of dragons. And all of these theories will never be proven, since there is NO evidence dragons ever existed.
One of the coolest parts of the show was when they showed the American Southwest, with a HUGE shadow moving over the landscape. It’s supposed to represent if dragons still exist to this very day.
There where also “OMG kids are watching this!” parts, one in particular was when the computer-generated dragon lands on a cliff, staring at dinosaurs walking away. You can clearly see it’s a male. I rather not go into details, but that’s proof enough. I really didn’t need to see that. :-/
