“I got my ship, and all the lag is annoying”

Nothing was going to stop me from taking my new sailboat to Bearcatraz. Not lag. Not server downtime. Nothing! …. Except for one thing. Home issues.
You see, angry had me working making planks half the day yesterday. He wanted to get the houses built before the plans disappear. I didn’t believe him though ’till later on, mine went poof.
Before all of this, we had a new homestead guest helping us who I thought was a goon; Schizophrenic. He claimed he knew nothing about the goons, but helped design Apple B’s to what it looks like now.
But soon I got the roof on my house and helped angry finish his. He wanted to go with me to Bearcatraz, despite the lag. However that wasn’t going to happen after we got to NT. I needed to find a mooring anchor to keep my new boat from drifting away to who knows where.
I went to “Smallbears Cheapo Tools” since I was told yesterday they had three anchors left. They did, but… it was very bad. The highest QL I saw for the money was one for 5.51 QL for 60c. The other two where 1.00 QL for the same price.
I tried to go all over NT to find a better deal. Only problem, no one else sells them! So I was forced to painfully hand over the 60c for a lame ass QL anchor. And then proceeded to head to Small Bears.
When I got there, I was told by angry that Imno, the person that’s going to buy our old houses back at SoTR, was going to come with us. But he went AFK, and angry had to leave to go eat somewhere. So, I got to set sail by myself.

Leaving Small Bears, I had to dock on the eastern coast and wait for Sol to rise again. During this, I watched the “total” lunar eclipse of Seris and Valeri. It’s funny how Seris looks almost like the size of Earth’s moon, compared to the planet-sized Valeri. Soon, Sol rised and I was on my way again, only to come within 5 minutes of Northern Haven. My first stop.
Docking the boat where they had the Knarr boat, I took a look around. It’s like they never even left. The token was still there, and the houses where all in tip-top shape. I went up to ‘Drago’s Stronghold’ house. Very awesome. I wonder how long it took to build it.
Soon it was time to leave. So I boarded my boat and waved bye to NH, and proceeded to the Northern Passage.
After passing it, dinnertime loomed. So I had to make an emergency stop somewhere. And did at what’s left of Elysium then logged before telling angry if he wanted to join me, to swim up there.
After dinner I logged back in and it was night. Walking around the abandoned village, I helped myself to some tools here and there, taking a few saws, a mallet and a hammer, carving knife, file, and a few others, I took them to my boat and placed them in my cargo hold, than set sail in the dark to not be spotted.
It was still dark while I headed to Tir Tochair, where MattyK used to live. After some searching and using the old map he gave me, I found what was left of it. A flat slab of dirt, with a few land-based hostiles that tried to get me when I tried to explore. I took the boat over to the side and got a good picture of what it looked like…it’s like the entire town, vanished in thin air! Or decayed alot over time.
Sol began to rise as I made my way out of this bay, towards the Northeast Passage, passing the home of some people I met in kchat; Crystal Cove. They somewhat told me how to get to Bearcatraz, and warning me about sharks to the east(which I didn’t find any).

I soon approached a house on the right with a funny name. “Restaurant at The Edge of the Universe”. Curious, I went over and docked the boat and went over. The doors are locked, and it looks nothing like a restaurant! Got back on my boat and left the passage, but to find myself lost.
I saw what looked like an island to my left. When actually it was part of the east coast. After some time and “meeting with the locals”(who where a bunch of hostiles) of a pretty weird homestead named ‘Klerat’. What was so weird about this thing, is there is no buildings. No dirt moved…just, a shitload of felled trees. It’s like a hurricane went through.
Eventually, I went the right way and found myself in the chilly northern sea. And 20 minutes later, I found out Bearcatraz was not a lie! The long landbridge JUST like the map showed was there, but stuff it didn’t show, such as writing on the side of the rock face to my left. It looks like it spelled “NOOS”, or something. There’s also lava pools on the rock, and no hostiles for miles, except the three champ wild cats in a pen.
I docked the boat next to the landbridge and went exploring. First I wanted to see the lava pools close up. But as soon as I left the landbridge, I got this in my Event tab, followed with a 3 second timer; “You failed to respond in time. Disconnecting.” and it logged me off with that thing I was D/Ced, but for no reason.
Getting back in, it’s like nothing happened. Sol started to set, so I quickly looked around as rain began to fall. Taking pictures of the lava pools. Then went across the landbridge to Bearcatraz. When I got there, I was expecting a prison theme. But it was nothing like that. Infact, it was…beautiful. The deed was actually called “Bearcatraznationalpark”. Almost all the buildings here where unlocked, allowing me to explore more.
After submitting the pics I took to angry, I decided it was time to head home and get back to work on my house.
Heading back to Small Bears was in ways quicker than getting to Bearcatraz. I watched Sol go my way as I approached the two passages and finally into Bear Bay, but got kinda lost, not knowing which way was the bay. But finally I found the way in, passed the twin colossi, and parked my boat in the Small Bears Boat Parking.
After cleaning out all the stuff out of my boat’s cargo hold that I “stole” from Elysium, I headed home safely. Only for angry to put me back to work. 😛
I felt like I should’ve stayed on that boat. :-/
