In Facepunch, a guy named “andersonmat” and I believe a few of his friends have launched a forum that supposedly is trying to replace the need to use garrysmod.org.
The site is named garrysmodfiles.com. It has a clean interface and categories for all downloads.
I very stupidly got angry into this, first thinking “Hmm. If this site has good bandwidth, I may have found a place to host my downloads of DCF”, however I’ve been having second thoughts since they made angry a moderator there.
Basically, angry already lives a busy life, and now he’s going to be even more busy moderating that forum. And as for me, the repeated thought of “defeating the purpose of having my own forum” keeps going threw my head.
You see, if I let them host my files with their categories, what’s the reason to have my own forum when I could just use his?
This is something angry doesn’t seem to understand that it was a BAD idea to become “endorsed” to this new site.
On a side note of it, my work might even be reviewed on their forum instead of mine, defeating the purpose of having my own forum even more. I mean, what’s the point then?
With garrysmod.org, I can give a direct link from DCF to the download, where it can be reviewed on my forum, which is the reason why I made it.
But with this… it’s the opposite!
