NEXALong-LunaLong Road Mapping Blog

Loaded the bison/wagon up, thankfully remembering how to bypass the volume limit of the Knarr. NW strong wind to take me to Xanadu’s NE coast. As I’m slowly approaching Xan, I checked my animal list and see I had Uma cared for. Let her go, and noticed this;
‘You let aged fat Umawarrior go in order to care for other creatures. You may care for -2 more creatures.’
‘-2 more creatures’.. the heck? After asking if it’s a bug. It’s not. It’s actually something I forgot about… but, I don’t think it’ll be important at the moment. Basically, I forgot you have to have prem. AH is capped at 20 otherwise. Luckily, the game is forgiving to allow me to still care for what I was caring for (when I still had prem in August)… which, just reminded me that I can actually care for five animals, instead of four. And I just un-cared for Uma, who’s ven now… fuck.
Oh well. It’s only 40c more for a new 5 speed horse, right.. right?! Even after going through all of that awesome hell getting her branded on every PvE server in Wurm!!
FML.

Made it to Amish Groves in a half an hour since crossing the server. Unfortunately this place doesn’t have perms for guests to unload, so I found a spot just east of it (on a landbridge).
Unloaded my ven bison first, praying she wouldn’t die.. and she didn’t! WOOT! Caring For WORKS! Unloaded the others as dinnertime loomed, got them all hitched, loaded up the cages, and logged off for dinner in my boat.
Finished off dinner an hour later, watching The Nightmare Before Christmas (while waiting for Sol to rise). This took about nearly an hour as well. Soon Sol rose and I got back in the game. No mobs around when I went over to the wagon. It feels so weird, controlling this again, getting used to not even using a keyboard/mouse for a month (aka VR). But I made my way to the NEXA Mart, using the Xan community map.
Checking at the highway token here, this ‘Kappa’ deed is indeed linked to the network, and shows it was 8,456 meters away from this point. Moved away from it, going full
speed (while still watching the movie).
The movie ended as I was 1/4 the way into the Summerholt tunnel. Emerged, and started to have feelings of “this is stupid, why am I risking my life for this?”. Continuing to go down the road, infront of me are two greenish spiders. No guard towers, so I do my best to outrun them.

These feelings fill my head more and more, and then I stop. With no mobs around me, I look at what I wrote down. ‘8456m’ to Kappa. I seriously doubt I’m going to be any more “efficient” than letting Xanadu’s road network do it for me.. especially with how (still) outdated the community map is.
Also pondering if I should A: Get prem to care for all of these bison, just incase one of them decides to go ven when I’m away (and die on me before the 7th). And B: Risk bringing Uma here and re-care her.
Decided to go a bit further.. see a troll, turn back around and head to the boat. 😛 Not worth it! I need RL MONEY for PREM, damnit!!
As I’m heading back to the deed close of where my boat was, wondered if I should just ditch the wagon idea and go with a large cart instead, if it would be similar of its speed, and only requiring two animals (instead of four). But I reminded myself that bison have a bonus to wagons (possibly of maintaining their top speed a lot longer than a horse).

Almost back to my boat. Decided to check, if just incase.. that Esteron is finally connected to the highway system. And IT IS!!! WOOT! Didn’t check how far it would be (as I wanted to get home because Sol is setting).
Finally at my boat, time to head home. Think I might get prem tomorrow and come back in order to care for all the bison, just to make sure my plan won’t fail hard on me. Because the date of the other bison going ven, isn’t a matter of ‘if’, but ‘when’. And I just can’t take that risk.

Made it back home in the still of darkness. How still? A light breeze, in my fucking
face… all the way while trying to get out of Xan. It took, 45 minutes of sailing to leave Xan. Oof.
